I noticed a few people are confused as to what clean breeding actually entails, and I figured that making a guide is a lot easier than telling one person at a time!

There are two main things that sort of factor into clean breeding: lineage and breeding.

Lineage is a big factor in what constitutes clean breeding. There are certain lions that, in order for the lion to be clean, have to be not present in the family tree. There are of course the “Big Four”, plus a couple of other lions more recently that are sort of optional, depending on the person you talk to.

Lions that should NOT be included:
Keyser Soze
Moby Dick (There may be another lion with the name Moby Dick as well)
.Meliodas.
HOT HOT TATER TOT
Boombah
The Savannah Prince
Indra (the high statted lion everyone breeds to, he’s related to .Meliodas.)

Lions that are considered more optional:
Henry Longfellow

Another factor is breeding, which is fairly simple- if a lion is inbred, it’s not considered clean.
Inbreeding, as stated time and time again, does not have any in-game effects. However, it’s just a simple choice that clean breeders make because it just doesn’t really seem clean to many. However, some people consider an inbred lion with an otherwise clean heritage to be clean in the lineage department, so if you’re looking for 100% clean, just double-check the family tree.

Lastly, just a tip- the shorter the heritage, the better. It won’t make a lion or lioness dirty if they’re clean but just have a long heritage, it’s just seen as a much easier way to clean breed if the lion in question has a short heritage; it’s easy to see all the lions in the family tree which means it’s a fast way to see if the heritage is clean or not.

Another thing to think about is if there are any related lions as part of the parent's heritage. For example, I had a 3-gen king. He wasn't dirty by any means. However, a lioness I bred to also had my king's grandfather in her heritage, though it was further back in her family tree, on the second page. Although you can't tell that it's inbreeding, as it doesn't label it as such, the resulting cubs were technically dirty. Some people don't care about this and honestly I'd still consider them semi-clean as it doesn't show up as inbreeding, but people can be picky! Best way to avoid this is by buying low-gen lionesses or chased lionesses, and having a king with a short heritage.

If we’re going to classify “tiers” of breeding (sort of like there are markings LOL) this is what I’d consider to be the tiers:

[Tier 0] Dirty breeding
[Tier 1] None of the “Big Four” and/or no inbreeding
[Tier 2] None of the “Big Six” and no inbreeding
[Tier 3] None of the “Big Six” or “Optional” studs or no inbreeding
[Tier 4] None of the “Big Six” or “Optional” studs and no inbreeding

Want to add something or change something? Just reply and I’ll add it! Whether it be another stud that’s considered dirty, or another point to be added, anything helps ^^

I focus on Clean breeding and there is another Moby Dick out there too that may or may not be related to the original.

I really like this system, I particularly do not mind having an inbred lion. But i'll be using this system from now on I think! ^^

I don’t understand the unacceptable lions. Moby Dick and such, why are they so important?

its mostly because they have thousands upon thousands of children, and i'd say nearly 70% of lions are related to them- its mostly to widen the gene pool by avoiding them. hope this helps!

Why isn't Indra on this list? Just curious because he's a big stat monster as well and has a lot of descendants

That’s true XD I think at the point I made this list I either didn’t know about him or didn’t add him because he’s related to .Meliodas. which makes him dirty anyway. But I’ll definitely add him now!

Lol happens
Thanks for adding him, I usually use this thread as a guideline to know which ones to avoid so not seeing Indra here threw me off for a good second haha

Are only the 5 generations counted? Or if you had like a 9 gen lion and the 3th gen was The savannah prince would it still be dirty?

#262998 Some people only care about the first page of the family tree, but it's best to check all the way back. If any of those lions are in the heritage anywhere then it's likely you'll have a hard time finding a lion to breed with that's not in some way related. Basically, it doesn't matter how many generations back inbreeding occurs, a lion is still dirty.
