So, I was looking at one of my lionesses after she got one of the “eye scars” and I thought it would be really cool if the scar had actually made her go blind. That got me thinking; what if there were “Obtainable Mutations” that could only be obtained through hunting, patrolling, or exploring. It would be an incredibly rare chance (like the friendly stranger August encounter), but if a lion was not previously mutated there would be a small chance of an accident occurring and leaving a permanent mark.

Some ideas:

Blind - Same as the in-game blind mutation.
“While hunting, “Lioness” found herself on the wrong side of some particularly sharp claws. While the vicious attack missed her throat, she unfortunately lost her vision...”

Missing Limb - As the name states, due to an accident your lion loses a limb. All physical stats are halved. The lion cannot be kinged.
“While hunting, “Lioness” suddenly found herself caught in a strange, human-made trap! Although she tried and tried to pull free, “Lioness” was unable to escape without losing her limb...

Infertility (Males only) - Male lion suffers physical injuries that end in him becoming infertile. Other than this, no outward expression of the mutation.
“While patrolling, “Sub Male” suddenly found himself tumbling down a hill he swears wasn’t there before. He reaches the bottom and.... oh, ouch. Huh, well, that doesn’t look too good...

Twisted Foot - Lion’s foot gets twisted and turns inward. Similarly to missing limbs, all physical stats are halved.
“While “Lioness” was admiring the beautiful blue sky, her paw gets stuck in a root and she tumbles. She finds she can’t walk so well anymore...”


These are just a few ideas, and I’m honestly not even sure that this would be possible lol! I just thought it might be a fun idea, and might encourage players to keep more non-mut lions in order to find these new mutations!
