Your lion's stats do matter. My advice would be to type out stats lower than your king's stats in order to find some good competitors to snag some territory from!

Stats/Skills do matter. You can find territories with lions two levels below you via Crossroads > Territory, but it's always a good rule of thumb to check their stats before fighting for territory as some lions naturally have high stats at low levels.

I would highly recommend using the Search feature to specifically find and target players with the lowest stats, which gives you the best chance of success. The defending player does get a slight buff, so the more stats you have compared to them the better!
