the pride | lore thread | game log

Welcome to my official Liolocke-inspired project thread! I say "inspired", as this project/challenge is going to be quite different from your average Liolocke. However, I do intend on following some of the normal rules! Please DO NOT post on this thread. If you have questions about this challenge, please pm me instead. Credit for the Lioden Liolocke challenge as a whole goes to Lynx.

⟶ Hit the Leaderboards with the Highest Statted, Highest Karma King.
⟶ Have the entire pride be made up of high statted, clean lions with only breed-only attributes.
⟶ Have a King made of entirely breed-only attributes.
⟶ Help work on my lore writing.

ONE ⟶ The only lions allowed in this Pride are G1 and descendants of my Kings.
✴ I may purchased G1/Chased lions and Lionesses, but only if they follow the appearance rules.
✴ I may create Custom lionesses using the Oasis tool, however the GB used for it must be gained through the game by selling items. I cannot purchase GB for this account.

TWO ⟶ Each King to follow Abaddon MUST be related to him.
✴ Each King following Abaddon must be clean.
✴ I may also choose to heritage rep with a Groupie in order to keep lines clean. If this is the case, then the original lineage must be kept in the bio.
✴ If a King is repped with a Groupie, the Groupie's stats must be higher than the original King's stats. This is to ensure that the High Stat goal is maintained.
✴ Each King is allowed to be mutated. I may use a Primal MOD, Pie/Patch MODS, or if I have obtained a Mukombero, I may king a G2 Ferus. I may also use mutated Groupies to heritage rep.

THREE ⟶ All lions must follow REALISTIC colors and patterns.
✴ Gold and Cream bases are the only ones allowed, with the exceptions of a few Black and Red bases that I will list later.
✴ Most marking shapes are not strictly enforced, as many of the shapes can be considered natural.
✴ Marking shapes that are strictly regulated (Regulated markings are allowed, however must not be common in the pride. Typically will only be allowed due to lore): All Vitiligos, Reversed Zebra, Rosettes, Hyena Spots: Scarce, Okapi, Margay, Fawn, All Cheetah, Carvings, Quail Flecks.
✴ Marking Shapes that are not allowed: English Spots, All Hyena Blots, All Hyena Spots (Except for Scarce), All Lycaon, All Hyena Stripes, Feralis, Nimravus, Squabble, Brawl, Rumble, Inverted Squabble, Inverted Brawl, Inverted Rumble, Scraped Grunge, All Proteles, Maofelis, Zebra, Cobweb, Web, Mesh.
✴ In terms of marking colors, any and all colors that do not fall into a black, grey, brown, cream, white, etc. category are not allowed.
✴ Markings must blend nicely with a lions pelt color. Therefore, lions with a Cream pelt cannot have markings such as Noctis or Steele unless they compliment the pelt. Cubs who do not follow this rule will be foddered/sold.
✴ Eye colors must also be natural. Ambers, golds, yellows, browns, hazels, and grey/blacks are allowed on any lions. Greens and blues must only be found on light colored lions. All other colors are not allowed. Green or blue eyed dark lions will have a 40/60 chance of staying with the pride as genetic anomalies. If the lion rolls from 1-40, they will stay. If they roll 41-60, they will be foddered/sold.
✴ Colorful skin colors are also not allowed. Orange/Yellow/Lagoon/Lavendar/etc. All skin tones must also match the bases/markings and blend well.

FOUR ⟶ In terms of cubs...
✴ Any and all cubs can only be sold, foddered, or given to Red List members for use with breeding projects. I may not tree any cubs.
✴ Cubs that are not sold by the time they age into an adult will be chased or foddered by the reigning King.
✴ In the cases of 3 and 4 cub litters, only 2 cubs will "survive". These two cubs are the strongest (highest stats). The other cubs will be foddered/sold once they are of age.
✴ If a cub fails cub training 2 times or more, they will be foddered/sold.
✴ I will only officially keep one cub out of any litter. The cub that is kept must have the highest stats, must follow the appearance guidelines, and must help further my goals for the Pride.

FIVE ⟶ Studs
✴ I may use Studs in order to keep lines Clean.
✴ I may only use Studs for lionesses that are already related to my King. G1 Lionesses MUST be bred to my King.
✴ Studs used must be G1 and follow my appearance guidelines. I will keep a private list of Studs to choose from.
✴ Studs must have stats as high or higher than my King.
✴ I am also allowed to stud out my King, however the price is never allowed to be below 450sb, and I may only accept a maximum of 5 requests per day.

SIX ⟶ Naming
✴ All names must be natural occurring things, such as plants, landforms, weather, etc.
✴ Names that do not follow this theme are allowed, but only for lore purposes.

SEVEN ⟶ Purchases and Decors
✴ All decors used must be decors that can be found in nature - i.e. plants, trees, grasses, other animals, bones, etc. Jewelry's may be used but only if they can be passed off as naturally occurring or can be explained via lions raiding human settlements.
✴ I can not purchase anything from other players except for lions and GB.
✴ I may purchase what I wish from events using event currency.

Possibly the only thing in my challenge that is similar to other Liolocke challenges is the rolling system.

Unless a roll bonus is active, every lion in the pride will roll every day for injury or illness.

Every day, using a random number generator that goes from 1-10, a lions fate will be decided. Rolling the numbers 1, 2, or 3 will result in an illness.
Rolling 4, 5, or 6 will result in injury.
Rolling 7, 8, 9, or 10 will result in nothing; the lion is healthy and clear to go about their day as usual!

Illness Rolls
Once a 1, 2, or 3 is rolled, I will roll once more to decide the severity of the illness. Included is a chart of potential illnesses and their severities. Each illness has a corresponding number that will be used when rolling to find out which illness it is.

1, 2, 3, or 4: Mild illness. These illnesses will clear up by the next rollover.

5, 6, or 7: Moderate illness. These illnesses will follow the following illness roll:

✴ Once the illness is decided, the lion will roll for illness progression. Rolling 1 or 2 means the illness is clearing up; it will be gone by the next rollover.
✴ Rolling a 3 or a 4 indicates that the illness has neither gotten better or worse. After the following rollover, if the lion does not roll a 1 or a 2 signaling the illness is clearing up, it will be assumed that the illness has gotten worse. Upon the next rollover, there will only be a choice of rolling a 1 or a 2. If a 1 is rolled, it is assumed that the lion has begun making a recovery. The following rollover, the lion will be considered cured. If a 2 is rolled, it is assumed the lion has succumbed to illness and passed on.
✴ Rolling a 5 or a 6 indicates that the illness has gotten worse. The lion only has one rollover to roll a 1 or a 2; rolling any other number indicates that the lion will die upon the next rollover.
✴ Rolling a 7 indicates a miraculous recovery. If a sick lion rolls a 7, they are exempt from any illness or injuries for the next 5 rollovers.

8, 9, or 10: Severe illness. These illnesses will follow the following illness roll:
✴ Once the illness is decided, the outcome will be rolled. Unlike moderate illnesses, there are only 3 numbers that can be rolled for.
1: The lion is making a recovery. If a 1 is rolled, then the Moderate Illness roll order will be used upon the next rollover.
2. If the lion rolls a 2, they die upon the next rollover.
3. The lion has made a miraculous recovery and will be healed upon the next rollover. Some illnesses do not allow for a 3 to be rolled.

Injury Rolls/Scars
Every injury rolls a 2/10 chance of becoming infected.

Infection: If a lion rolls for infection with a scar or another injury and is not able to roll to see the healer or sees the healer but remains uncured, the lion will become infected. When the lion has an infection, it will roll once to see whether the infection is considered a Mild, Moderate, or Severe illness and will follow the rolling patterns set in place for each.

Titles
Each title has a single Roll Bonus

Broodmothers – Broodmothers may only have the Nurturing, Gentle, Soft, Laidback, Vain, or Distrustful personalities. Cubs protected by a broodmother may not be removed from her care under any circumstance. Only one broodmother is permitted per 10 lions, not including cubs or the king. Roll Bonus: Cubs protected by a broodmother will roll for illness or injuries every 4 days instead of every 2 days.

Wild Hunt – The Wild Hunt is only allowed to have the Proud, Intrepid, Focused, Brutal, or Stubborn personalities. The Wild Hunt is in charge of sending out hunting patrols, taking status reports and reporting straight to the King, and more. Roll Bonus: If the pride has a Wild Hunt with a level above 10, the amount of lionesses per hunting party will be raised from 3 to 5.

Healer – Healers may only have the Gracious, Calm, Friendly, Loud, or Grumpy personalities. Healers must take 3 days of training before being allowed to fully take over as healer. The pride may only have one healer per 10 lions, not including cubs or the king. Roll Bonus: When the pride has a healer, every adult or adolescent member in the pride will roll every 3 days for illness or injuries. The healer takes good care of themselves and therefore will only roll once a week for illness or injuries.

I may add/edit illnesses at any point in time.

Mild:
Mouse Eye – Lions with this illness will have one of their eyes half-lidded and draining. This is typically caused by some sort of irritant, such as dust, grass, or a well-timed antelope kick.
Yellow Nausea – Lions with this illness have upset stomachs and typically throw up a yellow bile. This illness is typically caused by eating something foul.
Stinging Tongue – Lions with this illness are unable to eat for a period of time due to a burning sensation on their tongues. This can be caused by a variety of reasons, though the most common are allergies or through eating certain foods.

Moderate:
Dragon Flu – Categorized by fever, raspy breathing and dry, heaving coughs, this illness is rather unpleasant. Can not be spread, is caused by a mixture of heat and no water. Much more common during dry seasons.
Flower Nose – Pretty sounding but can be very deadly. Flower Nose is categorized by a swelling of the nasal cavities and the areas surrounding the nose/muzzle. If untreated for too long, this illness can cause asphyxiation or brain damage.
Phantom Stomach – This illness is caused by eating too much, too fast after long periods of not eating anything at all. Phantom Stomach causes cramps, nausea, and bloody stools. What kills the lions is dehydration or malnourishment, as the cramps and nausea make it difficult to eat and keep anything down.

Severe:
Green Death – Lions with this illness will begin showing symptoms by being lethargic and unable to eat or drink. As the illness progresses, the lion will throw up or dry heave constantly throughout the day. This disease is considered contagious and is usually caught from drinking from algae infested waters. It sets fast and kills quick. Recoveries are rare.
Withering Bones – Lions with this illness seem to have their strength deplete almost overnight. They will be unable to move, eat, or drink. The cause is still unknown, and death is quick but painful. A 3 cannot be rolled with this disease.
Sleep Fever – Lions with this illness will first deal with insomnia. This will last for a few rollovers before full roll order will be enacted. If a 2 is rolled, the lion will be found to have died during their sleep upon the next rollover.
Elephant Illness – Sometimes after eating younger elephants, a lion will find themselves slowly going mad. There is no recovery from this; lions found to have Elephant Illness are dangerous and are typically “put down” in order to keep the rest of the pride safe. Rolling Elephant Illness means instant death.

DAY 1⟶
Illness/Injury Rolls:

Alder Rolled 4; Injury. Alder was injured while patrolling. Thankfully, the injury has not become infected and he will be fine upon the next rollover.

Byhalia Rolled 8; Healthy.

Harlowe Rolled 8; Healthy.

Briar Rolled 1; Briar has caught a mild illness. Briar attempted to snack on a toad, unaware that said toad was toxic. While she is fine and will survive the encounter, Briar now has a case of Stinging Tongue and is unable to eat or hunt until after rollover.

Laurel Rolled 9; Healthy.

Marula Rolled 1; Marula has caught a mild illness. Marula went fishing in the nearby watering hole and caught a fish! Unfortunately, this fish had ingested something toxic itself and has given her Yellow Nausea. She will be fine after rollover, however her stomach is cramping fiercely and she is quite irritable as a result!

Soleil Rolled 5; Soleil has been injured while out hunting! Thankfully the injury is not infected, and she will be fine to perform her regular duties upon rollover.

Soot Rolled 4; Soot has been injured while out exploring! Unfortunately, the injury has become severely infected. Soot was out exploring a nearby watering hole, when out of nowhere a crocodile attacked her! It ripped off her entire hind leg. It is unlikely that Soot will be able to overcome this infection, and she will die upon rollover.

Terra Rolled 2; Terra has caught a severe illness! Terra was out exploring with Soot. When the crocodile attacked her friend, she was able to save her but ingested some of the nasty green algae! She now has Green Death and has been quarantined to a separate cave. Terra seems to be improving, however, and is likely to make it to the next rollover.

Timber Rolled 6; Timber has sustained an injury while out hunting! Thankfully, her wound is not infected and she will be fine upon rollover.

Torrent Rolled 8; Healthy.

Kopje Rolled 7; Healthy.

Quail Rolled 4; Quail sustained an injury while cub training today! Thankfully, her wound is not infected and she will be fine upon rollover.

Clay Rolled 9; Healthy.

DAY 2 ⟶
Illness/Injury Rolls:

Alder Rolled 9; Healthy

Byhalia Rolled 9; Healthy

Harlowe Rolled 8; Healthy

Briar Rolled 5; Briar has been injured while out exploring! Thankfully, the injury has not become infected and she will make it to the next rollover.

Laurel Rolled 6; Laurel has been injured while out hunting! Thankfully, the injury has not become infected and she will make it to the next rollover.

Marula Rolled 3; Marula has caught a mild illness! Marula was picking through leftover pieces of prey to snack on and settled on a meerkat. Marula was not aware that this meerkat carcass had been sitting for a few days, though, and she got sick with Yellow Nausea as a result! Marula can't seem to get a break, but she will be fine upon rollover.

Soleil Rolled 1; Soleil has caught a mild illness! Soleil was picking through leftover pieces of prey to snack on with Marula and also chose a meerkat that had been sitting for a few days. She got sick with Yellow Nausea as a result! She will be fine upon rollover.

Terra (Following Moderate Illness Roll Order) Rolled a 6; Green Death has gotten worse. Terra looked to be getting better at first, however her condition seems to have gotten worse overnight. Chances of Terra surviving the Green Death are very slim. Terra must roll a 1 or a 2 to survive.

Timber Rolled a 3; Timber has caught a mild illness! Timber was snacking on a Warthog. Little did she know, the warthog was sick itself! She caught Yellow Nausea as a result. She will be fine upon rollover.

Torrent Rolled a 7; Healthy.

Kopje Rolled a 7; Healthy.

Quail Rolled a 3; Quail has caught a moderate illness! Being a cub, Quail is much more prone to illness. Unfortunately, the dryness of the savanna has caused her to catch Dragon Flu. She is keeping everyone up with her coughing, and her situation has only gotten worse. It is unlikely she will make it past the next rollover. Quail must roll a 1 or a 2 to survive.

Clay Rolled a 7; Healthy.

Briar Rolled 5; Briar has been injured while out hunting! Thankfully, the injury has not become infected and she will make it to the next rollover.

Laurel Rolled 5; Laurel has been injured while out hunting! Thankfully, the injury has not become infected and she will make it to the next rollover.

Marula Rolled 2; Marula has caught a mild illness! Marula saw a hedgehog while out exploring and attempted to eat the little creature! Unfortunately, she learned the hard way that these little mammals do not take kindly to big lions trying to eat them! She now has Stinging Tongue but will be fine upon rollover. Marula what the shit. Why do you keep getting sick. Stop trying to eat everything, dammit.

Soleil Rolled 8; Healthy.

Terra Rolled 10; Dead. After continuously waking up the rest of the pride during the night due to her aggressive coughing fits, the pride woke up in the morning to eerie silence. When going to check on Terra, they found that she had passed away during the night.

Timber Rolled 8; Healthy.

Torrent Rolled 4; Torrent has been injured while playing with the cubs! Thankfully, the injury has not become infected and she will make it to the next rollover.

Kopje Rolled 5; Kopje has been injured during cub training with Clay! Thankfully, the injury has not become infected and she will make it to the next rollover.

Quail Rolled 2; Quail is starting to overcome Dragon's Flu! She will be fine upon the next rollover!

Clay Rolled 3; Clay has caught a mild illness! While scuffling with Kopje during cub training, Clay had a bit of dirt kicked into her eye! She now has Mouse Eye but will be fine upon rollover.
