S1 - What are Tigons?

Tigons are apart of the 2 hybrids available on lioden currently. They are the result of a Tiger male x Lion female.


In the lioden lore, all first generation tigons fathers are Ashkarn (Xylaxs king) and is the main father to all tigons on lioden. And before you ask, no, you cannot stud to Ashkarn for a tigon, that is not possible. If you are interested in seeing who Ashkarn is, you can find him by clicking this text.

S2 - How are Tigons obtained?

Tigons can be obtained in multiple different ways. Although, they definitely CANT be obtained from an explore encounter. I see a lot of people thinking that they can when infact it is just not true. You can only obtain them from breeding lionesses. Ill go over the multiple different obtainment ways below

1. Mass Breeding NCLs.
» When you mass breed NCLs, there is a chance you will eventually obtain a generation 1 tigon. Items such as CRBS help boost the chances of a tigon cub being produced. Most people mass breed CRBed lions as it is has higher chances of bringing a tigon cub than regular breeding. Although note that this method takes quite awhile and can often go all the way up to 1000-2000+ NCLs bred before you finally obtain one. (although worth it because they are worth 2000-3000 GB) Just make sure you strictly use NCLs and no other lionesses as you want to produce a G2 overall.

2. Reverse Tigon breeding
» This method has a higher probability of you recieving a tigon cub. You can often find reverse tigon breedings by using the search tool to find them! (click) If you do use this option, MAKE SURE THE TIGON IS CLEAN! Clean tigons do wayyy better than dirty tigons and often favored more. Same goes with low gen tigons. If you want an even better chance of obtaining one from a reverse breeding, use a buffalo scrot and make sure the tigon you are breeding to is g1 as it is a 10% pass rate instead of a 5% pass rate.

3. Christmas Hybrid Special Lion Raffle
» This method of obtainment is very iffy and I do not at all recommend you relying on this as often 10k+ people try to impress the hybrid special on christmas and it is a very low chance you actually win it. but alas, it is still on the table and there for you to participate during christmas time! (plus their heats sell for 100 GB - 250 GB)

4. Buying one from TC
» For the easiest way to get one, you can of course get one off of TC. They often go for 500+ GB worth so I heavily recommend you to save up GB, MoDs, applicators, breeding items, etc if you are planning to offer for one as they must be value worth. And, I suggest posting your offer on a seperate trade rather than offering over and over for seperate ones as it will save you time for someone who comes across and becomes interested. THE BEST TIME TO BUY A TIGON IS DURING FEBRUARY AS THEIR PRICES WILL DROP!



With that being said, those are all and the only method of obtaining tigons ingame. You cannot get them from explores/encounters, you can ONLY get them from the methods listed above. You also cannot get one from breeding to a tigon king. Tigon kings CANNOT pass their mutation. Do not waste your time.



From the methods listed above, Mass breeding NCLs and The christmas raffle are currently the only ways of obtaining a first gen. Now im not saying it strictly has to be from an NCL, it can come from any lioness although admittedly the chances are going to be very low. NCLs give you a higher pass chance as yoh will be mass breeding a lot of cubs at once, raising your chances of one being born. If you are looking to start mass breeding NCLs to try to obtain a first gen, I highly suggest using cotton root barks (CRBs) on all of your NCLs as it raises the chances of a first gen tigon being born in a litter. Just be warned, obtaining a tigon through mass breeding will take a very long time unless you get really lucky. You could always buy a first gen tigon from market if you choose to do the easy route, but they normally sell for 1k-3k GB depending on their factors, which would make a big indent in your wallet.

S3 - Tigon Breeding

Now that you know what tigons are and how to obtain them, lets talk a little more in depth about their breeding.


* First thing I want to discuss is that using items such as lion scrotums/crbs/lion meat on your tigon will NOT give it a higher chance of passing down it’s mutation. This is very false and misleading information that often gets spread A LOT. You cannot change the chances that tigons have to pass down their mutation, all first gen tigons will have a 10% pass rate while all other tigons after will have a 5% pass rate. The only item you need for breeding your tigon is buffalo scrotum to upgrade the chances that you will get one. You can also use x20 Yohimbe barks to pass their 20 day cooldown as each yohimbe bark removes 1 day of cooldown. Yohimbe barks & Buffalo Scrots can be obtained from the feburary event.

* I suggest that you only breed your tigons during feburary and then put them onto a freezing account after till next feb as it is not worth letting them age and doing natural heats since some tigons will not pass their mutation at all during their regular 8 heats.

* I also suggest you always stud to a G1 king so the heritage stays short and wont get too long. This also ensures that the offsprings stay clean aslong as the stud isnt the father of the said tigon.

* You can always try to breed for a combo base tigon, but I do not recommend it as it is very difficult and has very low chances as you would need to land the combo base (which already has a very low chance) on the tigon cub which has a 5-10% pass rate depending if 1st gen or not.

S4 - Tigon Genetics

The last part to know about tigons is their genetics. We are solely focusing on first gen tigons here as all first gens come with the mandarin base (tigon exclusive base that has a very low chance to pass down to a cub) And what makes a tigon exactly a tigon.


TIGON VS. LION
Tigons and lions are very different from eachother. Heres the things you need to look out for to tell them apart.

TIGONS
• Visible lineart changes
• Look more tigery than a normal lion
• In the mutation bar, it will specifically say “tigon”
• They are able to pass down the mutation

LIONS
• May inherit some of the tigons attributes, but that does NOT make them a tigon
• Has the regular lineart all lions have
• The mutation bar does not say “tigon”
• Cannot pass down the mutation


MANDARIN BASE PASE RATES
All first gen tigons inherit the Mandarin base. This base is exclusive to hybrids (tigons) only and you cannot obtain it any other way unless breeding to a lion with mandarin base which has very low chances.

• It can be noted that by each mandarin pass, the chances of passing the base from each cub will become lower each time.

• Mandarin pass rate has been estimated to be under 1%. The rate of it passing down if the mother is a tigon is much much greater than it would be with a normal lion.

• As you can see in the image, the cubs with albino base have not inherited the mandarin base, while the other cub has. this cub can now also pass it down, but the chances will beower than the mothers.


TIGON PASS RATES
If you would like the most chance to obtain tigon cub from your tigon, it is highly recommended that you use buffalo scrotum on them as it will garauntee 3 cubs in the litter, upping your chances of obtaining one.

• First gen hybrids have a 10% pass rate while all other hybrids have a 5% pass rate. You can tell if your tigon is first gen if it says…
Mutation: Tigon (first gen.)

• As you can see in the image, 3 cubs have not inherited the tigon mutation, while one has. Since that tigon cub is the offspring of a first gen, that tigon will have a 5% chance of passing its mutation unlike its mother who has a 10% chance of passing.
