I think you might misunderstand the roasted lamb mechanic. They actually DON'T work if you're more than 59% hungry.

eta: this could make statting really overpowered too, and I'm not sure the hardcore statters would like that much

Yeah it's the other way round, as @leon says. All it means in the item description is that roasted lambs will NOT work if your king is starving (basically just like normal, where if your hunger is too high you stop regaining energy properly and only get 1% per 15mins instead of the usual 10%).

So as long as you keep your king fed, you can use roasted lambs as often as you like. Everyday or even multiple per day :)

No support, this would break the absolute crap out of stat boosting items - devs removed the hunger penalty we used to get when breeding lionesses for that exact reason, because people could reduce a lioness's fertility to 1% and essentially get nearly limitless stat items fed to her.
