Hey Lioden!

This isn't fully a suggestion, more of an idea spread!

Ligers are the result of a Male lion and a Female tigress breeding and birthing an hybrid, unlike Tigons, who are the results of Female lion and Male tiger breeding's.

Now, this is a lion sim, we cant have tigresses in our prides, of course, not only because it'd be completely inaccurate but also because Tigers are solitary and would never live in groups. But because of this, having Ligers born inside the pride would be impossible...

But, it does not mean that a king Lion couldn't have Liger babies. We just need a Tigress... which, we don't have, but it doesn't mean that cant be added as an encounter at some point.

Now, even if our kings were to produce Liger babies... It would not make any sense for the Tigress to give the cub, as, well let's not be unrealistic, a mother big cat would not give her cubs.

But...

She could abandon them, especially an odd-looking Liger!
Ligers are lighter in color, and would have some very low hunting abilities. Therefore, when a Tigress seeing her cub having trouble like this: potentially putting the other cubs at risks... The Tigress could abandon the cub, leaving it.

And, it wouldn't be impossible for a lioness... Who would've just given birth, to feel a connection with a lone cub... and take it into a pride.

Therefore... a female lioness could have a VERY LOW chance of finding and adopting a first generation Liger upon rollover.

Health note:
When checking your cubs, you notice that [Lioness] is hiding an additional cub that wasn't there before. When you ask her to show you the cub, she seems nervous, after showing you an odd-looking cub, she admits having found it alone in the wild. The [cub] is a Liger!

Of course, let's not forget that Devs, artists and Coders have a lot on their hands at the moment!(New bases every month, Spirited male pose & work of the jaglions. Along with an insane amount of decor/encounters to update & create) So, if you like this idea, I am very glad, but I in no way want anyone trying to talk to devs about this. As much as it would be fun, having more then 3 hybrids in the game could, both crash the economy & make the game confusing for everyone! This is just me sharing fun stuff i came up with! thank you :)

Think this couldn't happen? Take a look at this:

An extra cub found by a lioness is an interesting idea.

Very cool idea! Would cause extra grief for the lioden staff who are in the middle of making a new hybrid, and a new pose, and may other things but maybe in a few years they could!

I had a whole idea where you could impregnate a tigress and have her hang around in your territory with explore encounters for updates with her while pregnant and rearing the cub and then when it was an adolescent about to leave its mother it'd join the pride. The first hybrid that first gens were the end result of an explore encounter after that it'd pass by breeding at a normal rate.
I also tried suggesting that the tigress be treated as a rented lioness that you could get in a random event when you had the amusement and food bundles in your inventory. People kept crapping on my ideas.
But adopting could work, I mean if a lioness could adopt a prey animal which has happened why not a liger cub?

Tigers are completely sollitary, so as much as i would LOVE having one in a pride, it would just break the vibe of the game completely, which is why you probably got hate for it. I tried to work around that, because i would myself dislike having an odd non-lion in a pride. Though the "rental lion" is quite cute!! And it would even be fun to have an event like that, for exemple! If we have the Demiurge journey activated, we would have the demiurge in our den. he's like frozen (not hungry ect) but hes there!!

I also had an idea to make lahru join your pride as a submale after completing his storyline and you could get a new one every year provided yours died of old age first since you can't breed them and well humans have trained striped hyenas irl so why wouldn't one be convinced to join up with a pride of sentient lions? that was blocked by the devs as they aren't gonna do it tho...

Im not yet sure if to support yet; a nursing lioness is not likely to adopt a stray cub, as she's fully focused on her own babies at the time.

What if this could happen to lioness whose cubs you chase away? So, on breeding cooldown of 20-15 days, but without any cubs of her own currently nursing under her. Either they died or got killed or just aged with an aging stone - she could be feeling lonely and have a very low chance of wanting to adopt a lone cub that she sees?

Savanna (#299126) : Thank you!

Mad Hyena (#29080) : I think that would be too complex (Coding-wise, AND towards the entire concept)

As, a Lioness who recently gave birth: Her hormones would in fact be very... over the roof! Meaning that over all she would probably see a lone feline and feel a maternal link to it.

It has in fact been seen in some cats, to have adopted kittens from litters that are not theirs! And i mean, Yes a lioness would be very focused on her cubs (Especially in the first month) but that doesn't mean she wouldn't go anywhere, especially with broodmothers around. She wouldn't go far, but she still needs to go drink, and eat, which is when she could, with this excuse, find a lone, abandoned Liger cub!

Of course, this idea is pretty much just fiction, and could make great lore for a lion. Thank you for the feedbacks!
