Harley yawned tiredly as she walked along. She let out a huff as she began looking for a place to sit.”Probably under a tree will be the best idea.” She mumbled to herself. She wasn’t exactly even paying attention to where she was going so she was probably lost, although she didn’t mind. That just meant she could find a new spot to sit and draw. She held her sketchbook close to her as she began to think about what she was going to draw today.”Maybe a person? Hmmm. No maybe an animal? Hmm no we’ll worry about it when we get wherever we are going.” She told herself confidently.

Alary ran his fingers over the bark of a tree as he walked; he did the same to a few others before finally stopping by a bush. He sat behind the bush. He was bored to death and had no one to explore with. Alary sat up slightly when he heard a noise. He peeked from the bush, trying to stay hidden from whatever was out there.

Harley hadn’t seemed to even notice he was there as she sat under the tree.”Ugh I hate artist block.” She grumbled as she pulled out her pencils to draw. She opened her sketchbook and sighed.”Hmmm how about a cat in a burrito?” After a moment of starting to draw she chuckled.”A purritto I suppose.” She laughed a little after finishing it. She then began to draw her surroundings, perhaps if she did that she would notice something new to go see, she always liked a little adventure. She sighed once more looking around for a moment. The uneasy feeling of being watched crept up and she continued to look around before inevitably going back to drawing.

His ears twitched slightly; he was clearly intrigued by her. Alary moved to a nearby tree to get a better look. He quickly hid behind the tree every time she glanced around. Alary was confused as to what she was doing, but then realized that she was drawing! He thought of going up to Harley, but he didn’t want to freak her out. His ears continued to twitch every time she made even a slight noise; her voice was so distinct, and it filled him with happiness. He tried to move closer but ended up making a pretty loud noise. He hid behind the tree, hoping she didn’t find him.

Harley immediately looked towards where she heard the noise. She calmed herself not wanting to show her kitsune as she thought it was probably just an animal or something. She let out a huff.”Well if you are a person you best just come out now instead of me finding you.” She attempted to sound “tough and confident” she didn’t really care if it worked or not she just wanted whoever or whatever this was to show itself and then let her go back to drawing in peace. She waited expectantly for Alary to come out.

Alary peeked out from behind the tree. He thought about coming but eventually decided to just speak. "Hello..?" He said in an unsure tone. Alary hesitantly stepped out from behind the tree. He had a nervous expression across his face. He was unsure if she would think he wasn’t weird. He nervously played with the hem of his shirt. Alary really wanted to see what she was drawing, but he didn’t think he could ask yet. This girl was intriguing. There was something different about her. Alary was entranced by her, and he really didn’t want to pass up the chance to make a new friend.

Harley looked him up and down, she could obviously tell he was nervous.”Who are you? What do you want?” She asked a suspicious look on her face as she continued to look over the elf. She studied him with interest but from a distance, could never be too sure on who you’re talking to these days. She tapped her pencil against her sketchbook in her hand, her way of hiding her nerves as she saw it. She was intrigued by him as she hadn’t really been one to make friends in her time of exploring and adventures. She wasn’t sure of what to think of him though, she wasn’t sure if she should run, talk or something else but she knew being as short as she was only 5’3 she could put up a fight though if she needed too.

Alary stared at Harley for a few seconds before responding with, "Well, you just happened to pass by.. and uhh.." He smiled nervously. As Alary continued to fiddle with the hem of his shirt, he also began to dig his heel into the dirt. His ears twitched slightly from the slight breeze. Alary stared at Harley nervously, he had no idea how she'd act. So far, she seemed pretty human; he had never been friends with a human before! Alary was excited beyond words; he was going to try his best to become friends with this girl he just met a minute ago. He was also dying to find out what she was drawing!

Harley continued to tap her pencil against her sketchbook.”Mhmmm. And?” She asked with interest. She didn’t want to make herself come off as hostile or anything of the sort, so she kept as calm as she could but I’m the back of her mind had her escape plan ready if it was needed. She could almost feel that her kitsune wanted out and wanted to run away from how nervous she was but she still kept calm. She stared at him intensely, eagerly awaiting his response. She was curious about who this stranger was and what he was doing out here. She did notice his slightly more pointy ears and began suspecting that he must be an elf or something of that nature. She attempted to get herself to stop tapping her pencil however it didn’t work and she continued to do so.

"I was curious as to what you were drawing!" He blurted it out excitedly. Alary sat down to appear less threatening, as he could tell that the girl was also nervous, but in a slightly different way. He smiled at her and said, "I'm not going to do anything, I promise!" He said it quickly. Alary moved away from her to give her more space. He didn't want to scare her off; he didn't have many friends anymore, and he really wanted to make new ones. Alary smoothed out his shirt and smiled awkwardly. He brought his knees up to his chest and sort of rocked a bit. He waited for her to break the extremely awkward silence.

Harley almost laughed at how awkward he was being.”Were you now? Well I’d show you but I don’t even know your name or who you are.” She stated moving a little bit closer to him before sitting down in front of him. Her kitsune had seemed to calm down more after seeing the awkwardness going on between the two at the moment. She opened her sketchbook looking at what she had just drawn…of course it had to be the purritto cat she thought to herself. She hadn’t thought of anything to draw yet today, sure she had other drawings but of course it had to be the cute little purritto drawing.

He stared at Harley for a few seconds before responding, "Well, I can tell you my name and a few things about me if you want." Alary patiently waited for Harley to finish flipping through her sketchbook. Once Harley showed him the sketch, his eyes lit up. "That looks amazing! I don't think I've ever seen someone draw like that!" He was literally shaking with excitement, he really wanted to see more of her drawings. "Do you have any other drawings I can look at?" He asked, excitedly. Alary was unsure if she would agree. He pushed his hair out of his face and stared at Harley patiently.

“Tell me your name and stuff about you first and I will do the same then I’ll show you my drawings.” Harley stated mildly entertained by the eagerness of the elf. She laughed a little as she waited for a response. No use in trying to run when he seemed well rather friendly and harmless at the moment. She just kept her escape plan in the back of her mind just in case. She stared at him intently waiting for his response.

"My name is Alary, and I..." He thought for a second before saying, "I like exploring new places." He smiled awkwardly. "I don't know what else to say." He laughed nervously. Alary stated that she was waiting to see if that was good enough for her. "Are you willing to say your name and tell me a few things about yourself?" He smiled, trying not to be awkward. He lifted up his sleeves as it was starting to get slightly warmer.

Harley nodded.”I’m Harley and I mean I guess i like adventures anything else you wanna know?” She asked with a questioning look. She found this guy very interesting and wanted to know more about him. She waited for his response feeling her kitsune stir as she waited. She was as interested as she herself was. She held her sketchbook close to her as she looked at him with eager eyes.
