What do you call a hell-raising piebald, King with almost 100% visibility on all his markings? You call it, Mephisto Pheles. With his pink eyes, and blotches of colors, what's not to love about this guy? He walks around like it's a fashion runway everywhere he walks. Mephisto Pheles is a mysterious guy. He won't tell you where he plans to go next, or what he plans to do next. Almost like a total jack-in-the-box. Watch your back, because he might just try and scare you with what he does next. Could be a bug, could be a leaf on your shoulder next time you're around him.
It's always a surprise with this one, one moment he could be running with a branch on fire in his mouth, and the next sleeping in a tree next to a sloth. How did he get in the tree? Only the spirits know. Only the spirits will know, for he never tells anyone anything. You better believe that he has plans A through Z in his planned out with backups for each, though. He always notices when something is wrong with another, or even when something is wrong while hunting with his pride.

For all his antics, this lion is careful. He won't purposely get himself, or others into danger. The fire on the branch he holds up to you? You’re both close enough to the water in case one of you catches on fire. He ties you up in a tree? Well guess what- you’re close enough to the ground it won't do any permanent damage, let alone hurt you other than maybe a sprained paw. If he were to play a joke on you, the likelihood of you getting hurt is actually very low in terms of anything much.
Though his looks and style are very, very different, his personality is one in the same. He won't ever get you into trouble on purpose, though you might as well expect to get yelled at by a more knowledgeable senior in the pride. This King isn’t one to hold rules until the pride's safety is up to matter. He doesn’t care what his lions do, or don't do after the work they are requested to do is done. Mephisto Pheles is the type of lion that only gives one chance, and two chances every few months. If you mess up, good luck.

This King takes his duties very seriously. He won't be the one to tell you when and where you have to do things, but expects you to do them before anything else. Granted, he’ll help out with the chores. Letting the broodmothers take a break from watching the cubs, helping his huntresses hunt, and patrolling with his submales. If you ask, he’ll even help you gather feathers and toys for the cubs, and help the adolescents train to learn their jobs correctly. He wants everything to run smoothly, so that way the lions in his pride can have a life without worrying about when the next meal is going to be.
He puts his faith in his pride, trusting the system he built so everything can run as it should. The cubs train, hunters do their jobs, and everything goes as planned. You don't want to get on his bad side though. You threaten to hurt his pride, and he won’t even tell his pride he’s going after you. He’ll come back with a new pelt, not telling anyone where he got it from. He’ll defend his pride until the very end with everything he has until his last days. You always want this King on your side, for he’s loyal till the end.

A lion like this is a hard one to find. Loyal to the end, and his strength coming from his pride. A jokester, and a hell-raiser but king and compassionate. He’ll stand with you in your darkest moments, helping you look towards the light. He’ll sneak up behind you, and scare you but make sure you’re alright after the mini heart attack he gave you. He might not tell you where he’s going, but it makes up for itself when he tells you that he needs your help. He's careful to avoid anything that makes lions uncomfortable, and even makes sure that everyone feels alright when he walks around the pride.
This lion is a strange work of art, always changing and always moving. You won't catch him ever doing the same thing twice, and if you do, consider yourself lucky. He either forgot that he had already done it, or found it so much fun he decided to do it again. Being a work of art entitles him to his own being, and because of that, he’s an ever changing kaleidoscope.
