Alright, we're throwing yet another rosette topic thread in here because as far as I know, no one has been able to break the code yet.

I saw a very good thread a little while ago, breaking down how the user thought each lion has genetics on the site. Which is true, because that's how markings, mutations, and colors pass. Hell, that's how you get combo bases! And it was these genetics that allowed a lion that has never had rosettes in either of its parent's lineage to suddenly pop up with rosettes.

I have a lion that, somehow, keeps popping up with random rosettes that neither parent has, and their cub is born with a completely different rosette. (That whole line has random ass rosettes in it and I don't know what the hell is happening.)

BUT ANYWAY, before I got on an ADD tangent. I started to think. Genetics are a thing. The fact that genetics play a role in the game is a thing. We also know that because of genetics, random rosettes can pop up. But how do you make genetics work on a petsite?

How do you break the "CODE" to the rosettes?

Well. We need to break into the CODE of a lion.

Unfortunately, I have about 0 idea what I'm looking at when I go to inspect the code of a lion's page. But each and every lion, has to have some sort of code that is attached to its genetics. I don't code in my free time, I have only a working knowledge of how to use it for simple forum post coding lmao

But my theory is this: There has to be a code that we can find that is tied to the genetics of a lion. From there, we need only locate the genetics code on the parents of a lion that had a spontaneous rosette and then compare it with the code of other lions that have had non-rosette cubs.

I make this sound easy. But has anyone ever actually done this before? Has anyone ever tried to look into the coding of the lions to see how the genetics on the site work? (By way of just inspecting a page's code)

We've looked, this isn't the answer.

You can look at a lions appearance etc, but a lions looks is determined at conception (i.e when breeding is successful), and that's really back-end code.
