The world is a harsh place where only the strong can survive and the weak succumb to the undead that plague this earth.
The apocalypse only started about five years ago, though at first the disease that turned humans into cannibalistic creatures was slow acting it spread rapidly, most people who got infected weren’t aware of it until weeks later when necrosis started to set in.
The military tried their best to control the outbreak but in the end they failed, and now all the military has done is set up ‘safe havens’ for the people who haven’t gotten infected.

The disease that plagued the world of late has quite a few stages to it, down here it will be listed.

-Stage one:
Stage one is when the disease first infects the body, the disease can enter one’s body by open wounds that have come in contact with an infected persons blood or saliva, or by consuming an infected persons blood, saliva, flesh, etc.
In stage one there are no symptoms or warning signs to show that one has been infected.
Stage one lasts around 1-3 weeks.

-Stage two:
Stage two is when symptoms start to show, the infected person will start to feel hungrier than usual, though one may mistake these symptoms for symptoms of having worms. The person infected may start to fatigue easily and they might start to develop a rash.
Stage two only lasts about a week.

-Stage three:
Stage three is when the symptoms become more severe.
The infected persons hunger will increase dramatically, they will no longer feel satisfied after eating a large meal. They now are constantly hungry and they can and will eat until their stomach ruptures.
In this stage the infected may start acting erratically and have a craving of human flesh.
Their rash that they might’ve developed before will soon start to turn into necrosis.
This stage only lasts for less than a week.

-Stage four:
This stage is when they can be considered fully undead.
Necrosis would have taken over most of their body now, depending on how the disease acts in the infected persons body the person may develop cysts that are filled with disease ridden pus or other mutations.
They no longer conscious and the disease has taken over their body, they only seem to act on instinct now.
In this stage the infected will most definitely be consuming human flesh by now.
They will try to infect as many people as they can in this stage.
This stage lasts about 1 week or a month depending on who was infected.

-Stage five:
In this stage the infected person will basically just be a rotting mass, they can barely move due to the fact that the necrosis has eaten away at the persons muscles.
In this stage you can’t even tell that the infected person was once human.
This stage only lasts a couple of days since soon after this they will only be a puddle of decaying matter that is filled with the disease.

(Side note: A human cannot turn into a zombie if they die from being eaten by a zombie, the disease that is on said dead persons body will only speed up the rate of which the body will decay at)
