About a year ago, a lab of scientists were experimenting whether or not one could make their own radiation. After the experiment failed, resulting in what they thought was unradioactive, they dumped in in a nearby forest. The droughts caused a fire in that forest, causing a highly radioactive forest fire. It wiped out most of the human and animal population in the entirety of North and South America.
