Dapple Gray will be a Black Dark Countershaded Special Base could be a craftable base created from 30 Locust Wings and a Black Stallion. (Craftable only in September)

Process of my thoughts:

My main inspiration for this base was my absolute love for horses and their unique and hard to comprehend coats. Gray coats are some of my favorite coats in multiple games and works very well with painted markings.

I've always been a huge fan of Locust myself and always wanted it to have more respect and love rather than the hate it gets from most the community. Although it has a hard time itself matching with many of the markings in the game it would make an amazing combo base creator. Since Locust is one of the only entirely unique spotted bases, it makes sense to include a combo where the ending result is a beautiful dappled one.

Someone suggested in the comments that Grullo would be another good option on the Locust side. Although I originally was against the idea it seems to have grown on me more. Thank you grassman 🌱 | pearl (#243884) for the suggestion!



If this gets added to the game I'd love for the dapples to closely resemble the ones found on real horses.


Now finally onto my interpretation of what a dappled gray base would look like on a lion!

I actually very much prefer this 2023 design over my 2025 remake because of the sheer amount of details. But that being said I was UNABLE MYSELF to recreate this same look, I can imagine it would be just as hard for the developers themselves.
