Rewritten on 15/05/24 for better phrasing.
Old phrasing;

I believe cubs and lionesses should have their protection softlock/freeze if they transfer owner via trade for one roll, if they were an accepted offer- not a Buyout!

Why do I think this is a problem?
I believe the current offering system helps promote cub death on roll. Let me explain!
Imagine this; you like this cub/lioness. It's not within your budget, so you offer on it. You're then busy or sleeping for the next few hours, and when you're back it's time to roll. Well, whilst you were sleeping the seller accepted your offer. The thing is, the Lioness or Cub was at critical condition- and now that you've rolled, it's ran away or died.

In this situation, technically no one is at fault. The trade owner chose to transfer them, so it's no longer their issue. The buyer wasn't physically able to tend to the lion, so it's an unfortunate circumstance that they had to lose it. I don't think anyone should have to lose out on money due to a hole in a gaming mechanic!

What's the fix?
I think that upon an offer being accepted, a Lioness or Cub's statistics should softlock- much like how they cannot be traded. This gives the recipient a whole roll to attend to them which will wholeheartedly prevent anything deemed as unfair or unfortunate. To be clear; they will still age and remain in critical condition! They will just not run or die until this cooldown is over.

Feedback?
If you have Feedback, please let me know! I'd love to take other people's ideas and consider their thoughts.

Yes please!!! I always thought this should have been a thing. I have had the same situation happen to me where I lost the lion I purchased. Not only was I out the money, but the lion as well. Such a waste.

Rephrased as I no longer liked the old phrasing! The idea is just the same.
