What's a skeleton leaf? A leaf skeleton is the structure of a leaf—its veins only—with the outer green layer and pulpy part of the leaf removed

How are skeleton leaves formed in nature? The skeletonization of leaves is a natural process. Fallen leaves gradually break down under environmental and microorganic influences, and their “skeletal” components, the veins that move water and nutrients, take the longest to decompose.

how big can they get? there's no true size limit, so skeleton leaves can be whatever size
