I adore small, feathery theropods (yes, including birds!) Or, as I nickname them, the "gremlin" dinosaurs. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I am partial to microraptors, as well as archaeopteryx as a close second. Yi qi are also pretty cool. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Yi qi are so strange but they're awesome looking dinosaurs. Honestly they look like small dragons! 0 players like this post! Like? |

Agreed. I think their resemblance to wyverns is the primary reason for my love for the little guys. It's not often you see dinosaurs—not just archosaurs—with leathery wings. It bugs me when pterosaurs are grouped in with dinosaurs. They were relatives, but not dinosaurs. Birds, however, are. Taxonomy is the strangest thing sometimes. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Oh yeah definitely, it's hard to explain to someone who doesn't know much about paleontology on why pterosaurs aren't dinosaurs despite it being related to them. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Yeah. I guess the easiest way to put it is that they were close relatives but were not dinosaurs, similarly to crocodiles. I'd imagine most people would understand if you took out the taxonomy and how to identify one over another, at which point it could become convoluted. 0 players like this post! Like?
