Stud requests are not about looks - most people want special things when they send a request. The more of the following your king has, the more stud requests he will get:

1) Breed-only stuff - base, markings, mane, skin, eyes. Your king has applicator base and mostly common traits about him.
2) The shorter and cleaner his heritage is, the better. G1s get the most requests, because they fit to the most people's heritage preferences. Your king's heritage is pretty lengthy.
3) Stats also improve the chances of getting requests. Your king's stats are low.
4) Passable mutation also improves his chance to get requests.

Checking your king, he only fits to 1 point of 4 - so no wonder he gets few stud requests! To get more stud requests, you would need to replace him with a better lion - just changing his marks to other applicable ones I think wont improve the situation much.

However the base your king has is a combo factor - that's as good as BO. It is better to have BO markings and heritageless/G2 King. However you just should have what YOU like. But I think that the only thing that's really preventing you from getting more requests is the long heritage. So if you like your king's looks - just mut & heritage replace him once the 30 days passes (or until he dies if you don't want to pay 10gb).

I'm sorry for bothering, but how can I do that? I could really use some pointers- I'm just now getting a bit more serious about breeding and getting good kings so I don't really know the ins and outs yet

Next month there will be tons of male groupies (heritageless lions). You can get one of them and king him with KEEPING YOUR CURRENT KING'S LOOKS. Or you can buy a G2 piebald/patches boy for few gb right now. And do the same.

If you're just after stud requests - then it's better to meet every point Mad Hyena made. But if you like your king - keep him Just slithgly improve his "worth as a stud" by getting him a shorter heritage and (if you want to) a mutation
