thank you ! i fell in love with siberian tigers playing zoo tycoon (2001), i was obsessed with that rich colour of their fur against the snow tiles of their habitats tigers are obviously in a very endangered position at present so i make lots of tiger art to spread awareness and infect people with the tiger love. this is lioden base edition haha

thank you <3 i made a mockup of that for you ! i don't know if they'll ever do mottled stripes in other colours just because of the nature of the mark as hybrid only, but i would love another tiger-like stripe option as none other is accurate enough.



feline 6 used in reverse is the closest of all of the available stripes i feel, but it's primarily BO except for those extremely expensive gorilla applicators, and it's hard to set up.
the lion above is rhubarb base with feline 6 fiery - so technically an orange striped black lion, instead of a black striped orange lion. you can see when you're looking at the negative space of the feline 6 that it forms much more tiger-like formations than used as is. but it comes with other issues like the eyebrow and muzzle area just looking wrong.



the feline 6 (used as is, not reversed) does have a good, accurate tigery back, as seen here on my tiny leopon, but we basically never get to see our lions from this angle. but generally, as seen in the feline 6 mockup in the original post, it's very much a tabby cat marking and looks too busy and too out of proportion to convey tiger.



feline 6 looks best for tiger purposes in ginger, like the tigery citrine RL. it's still too thick and too busy and too much but because it blends into the fur like a strawberry tiger it gives my brain the 'stripe ! tiger !' immediate thought without shouting its inaccuracies at me.

(the other stripes like zebra, hyena, and feralis just don't look right for tigers to me. feralis can look okay on cubs but generally looks very unrealistic on adults)

anyway TLDR i love tigers, we have so many accurate markings for other type of feline and even non felines, please please give us another tiger stripe option that isn't just one colour, slot locked, and so hard to acquire !

honestly i agree, combo breeding is hell, getting one in a couple hundred cubs to be a combo is expensive and tedious and good luck if you want a specific BO marking on them (like mottled stripes...)

but i did suggest it anyway because i noticed a lot of people tend to be against "easy to acquire" bases, i suppose because they're not seen as valuable if they don't fetch a few dozen gold beetles... ? i just want a tiger base i can add on to my ever growing tiger collection, so an applicator is definitely my ideal 🙏 i'm on lioden to play liodressup

I would love darker mottled stripes but I think I know why they didn't do it initially; Liger and tigon stripes are usually more orangy (at least from images I've seen) and faded in comparison to their parent's dark stripes. In spite of this, I am desperate for stripes that look nice and properly tiger-like without being so hard to come by! I also agree with the hopes this wouldn't be a combo base but we'll just have to see.

Edit: I also wanted to say, I've never thought of using feline 6 in reverse! That's very smart!
