heyhey!! this idea originally stems from an old warrior cats oc based on something i had seen on real cats from my mom working as a vet tech for most of my life, so if youre interested feel free to read!!

cutaneous asthenia: a rare genetic disorder that causes the skin to be abnormally elastic and fragile. This condition is similar to ehlers-danlos syndrome in humans. the skin on a cat with this condition can stretch and bunch up to form wing-like folds on the shoulders, back, and haunches

my idea for this mutation would be for the lion to have actually wing-like appendages, rather than skinfolds, despite the fact that it might not be as realistic. the "wings" themself would not be functional and would probably be small.

im very split on what the severity of the mutation itself should be counted as, because while cats with this skin condition CAN live a normal lifespan, it can also have potentially harmful factors such as easily bruising or tearing due to extremely fragile skin, joint laxity/instability, and delayed healing of wounds. often times, these cats dont survive very long, or have to be put down to avoid further complications that would leave the cat in pain. (ei, could be a regular mutation or a lethal, either staying a cub or living to a certain age and then dying like the deaf lethal)

while i am an artist, i dont feel that i am skilled enough to draw concept art in the style of lioden, though i may still try at a later date. if anyone would like to try their hand at doing it themself, however, that would be amazing!
