Idea 1:

I realized there is a bit of a flaw in the little "I Support!" button. I can't take back my support for a suggestion.

I realized this was a problem once I saw a suggestion I liked and supported. Then maybe a week later the original poster added 3 more ideas by editing the OP.

I really didn't enjoy the new changes and wanted to take back my support but I couldn't. It feels like my support is now supporting the ideas I didn't want to support.

This led me to thinking about it. I would appreciate an un-support option and even a notification when a thread I've supported has been edited. So I can back out if I need to. Even keep a better eye if they wish to slip something else in there that you didn't support before.

Also I feel this would help give people more of an option. If you supported early and then someone posts an argument that you agree with more. You can't back out of the support. With this option you'd be able too support your new ideas and judgement on the subject.

~~~~~~
Idea 2:
If we can't have a un-support option or even a notification I purpose a different option.
A new rule that wouldn't allow suggestion-ers to dramatically edit there OP ideas or keep tacking on new ones. Like what happened to me. They slipped new ideas in after it gained a good amount of support for there original idea.
~~~~~~
Idea 3:
The more extreme option I thought of is that suggestion threads become locked once posted. Meaning the OP can't be edited or changed by the everyday user.

This is one of the more extremes though. I would want this as a last option.

However it does give a small benefit. It would force people to think about there suggestions. Make sure they thought about them a bit more carefully like a school essay assignment. Once you turn it in. There is no going back.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I do accept the idea I'm over reacting a bit. . How much of a difference is a few people un-supporting an idea, going to do? Being able to control even one vote can make a difference. Some of the great votes won because of a small difference. I hold that close and try to believe it.
I am aware that some suggestions will never happen because it's not what the owners feel is best or there focus. It's just being able to have the ability to even slightly influence there ideas that gives our votes meaning. Knowing we are heard! Knowing that even if it's silly they are listening to us! ^^ I just want the option to be heard a bit more clearly. I don't want my support to misheard even by the slightest. I'm sure I'm not alone in that idea.
This suggestion has 98 supports and 0 NO supports.
I like this. It is well thought out. Especially since I too has had the same concern in the past.
100% support. Sometimes I accidentally mis-click the Support button (hey, it happens!) on ideas I'm not too keen about, and other times, as you said, someone adds on too much that their idea looks unappealing.
@ Insanity
^^ Thank You, I spent my night half awake thinking about it. XD It frustrated me to have my support used for something else. I'm happy I'm not the only one who's concern about it. ^^
@ Katze
I've miss clicked too. D: Why didn't I think of that. @..@ lol ^^ Thank you for your support! Hopefully we can eventually fix our mistakes lol and be able to change our minds on ideas soon. ^^
@ idontcare
That sounds like a lot of work to be keeping tabs on support threads. D: I hope to make your life easier. I check threads but its only been occasionally.
@ General Public
This kind of gets me thinking as well. People might not be supporting threads or withholding judgement for a long time. Till there certain a thread isn't going to change dramatically. xD The votes we could be missing! lol
I would support an un-support option, but not completely disabling editing of first posts.
I myself have suggested a lot of things and new additions come to mind later. Lists are expanded, grammar error are corrected, or the form itself is not the way I want it to be. Sometimes I am completely redoing my idea to make it more suitable. I wouldnt be able to do that if my first post was locked or the edit feature would be taken out... I would be forced to create a completely new thread for the additions I would like to add and link them to the original thread... That would be too much work...
So, I support the un-support feature, but not everything else.
I support. I notice some ideas get a lot of support and then changes a lot of thing, then, it's like the new idea has support but it may be wrong, as people were supported the old version, not the new one, and, then, the admins can think members supports an idea they don't.
I not only support this, I think that this should be a MUST feature!
Is not even a difficult feature to add, so I think that they should add that as soon as possible :)
I support this, because it couldn't hurt, right? I think this could be very useful to me, because I usually support almost everything xD ( So many good ideas! ) But someone could be like, " I think they should add a mass ( Just thinking of one I saw earlier ) chase button!" *250 supports later* " I think they should add in a pooping monkey decor! :DDDDD " ( I don't even know anymore xD ) And then they have all of those supports to one of the worst and/or stupidest ideas ever.
Perhaps an option to keep supporting or not support anymore every time the post is edited?
Or, maybe, once a post gets over 100 supports (which I'm sure allows time for editing) it would be locked and the OP would be unable to edit it and make those 100 supports look like they're for something else.
This would be really helpful. I haven't actually been aware of it happening to me, but sometimes I do think 'What if?', and this would help me be more sure that my supports are going to a good place XD
Thanks for the support guys. ^^ I only suggested the other 2 options as for thought provoking. I really only want the 1st option. xD A notification of it being edited and an un-support button.
I do edit my posts so I know how it would feel if I couldn't.
Though I like the idea of Duchess but I've seen posted over 100 support add things or add pictures which go with there original idea. Just kind of like a fine tuning there ideas. It would be a bit of a hindrance to fully lock it.
