The young wolf lived well past his first year and Ragnar named him Copper for the color of his coat.

On a voyage with their father, Ragnar and Crassus ventured too close to a den and were attacked by wolves. Thankfully King Helios found his way to them and fought their attackers; killing a mother wolf, he found her with a pup which he also thought to kill. Ragnar leapt to the pup's defense and begged his father to let it live, although Crassus cared nothing for it he stood by his brother. King Helios resigned in defeat but vowed that it would die before the year was up.

Born alongside the King's true born heir, Ragnar and Crassus grew up as close as two brothers. Although Queen Caraxes initially shunned him, she was talked round by King Helios who saw potential in giving his son a brother and a potential guard for when he was older.
