Kilírù's Den

The lions of the greater Comoé Pride live within the plains and forests that surround the Comoé River in northeastern Côte d'Ivoire. Legend says that the pride was united as one long ago, before the branching of the river split them among the east and west. The now-separate prides hold a truce between themselves that has allowed for peace to exist among the lions for several generations. Young lions will even occasionally cross the river to join the opposite pride during dry season, when the water level allows.

After witnessing even the most revered beasts of the forest fall to the violence of poachers, the West Comoé Pride have dedicated themselves to developing the physical capabilities of individual members so that they may each serve as stewards and protectors of their land. This has led to these lions earning a reputation from outsiders as the much more savage and unruly bunch among the twin prides.
