Hi guys.

This suggestion does NOT ask for the lionesses to go into heat immediately after you get rid of all her cubs.
So it is NOT on the rejected ideas list.

Problem:
1. When cubs are born that you are not satisfied with and you chase/kill them, you still need to wait for 20 days before you can breed your lioness. Whereas in life lionesses who lost their cubs will come into heat faster.

2. The cub market is horrible because even if people breed and get the 'wrong' cubs, they still put these on the market because they feel forced they need to do it, due to them having to wait those 20 days anyway.

3. People want some kind of 'reward' for chasing cubs, making it worth it.

4. Currently breeding projects are near impossible due to the long waiting period, even if the fail cubs are all chased/killed.

-----------------

My suggestion: if you chase off/kill the whole litter, then the 11 days of nursing should be removed from the lioness' waiting time, and only the rest should be counted. It does not put them back into heat, but will give them the usual 9 days cooldown.

This is not only a good incentive but it doesnt really give any financial or economical advantage to anyone, neither does this encourage mass-breeding to 'get the reward'. Neither will this inflate in price because it has none.

It would also help people with breeding projects. They wish to chase the fail cubs when they get a fail litter and in return they would be able to breed sooner and try again.

BUT!

It should only work if you chase the cubs on the very first Lioden day they are born. Otherwise you got to wait the 20 days.

Why?
This way preventing people from exploiting this feature and putting the cubs on the market first and then chasing them when nobody buys to get the shorter waiting period.

-------------------

There is however a question:
Wont this give people the chance to mass-produce desired cubs faster and so inflate their prices?

The answer is: No.

With the new genetics and the color groups that the cubs can inherit, the chance that you will get the 'right cub' is still as small as it ever was, if not smaller. The difference will be simply that there will be less cubs on the market because people get the incentive for chasing them off as soon as they can. The people will be encouraged to chase even those cubs that are an 'almost' case to get the perfect cubs instead.

And 'perfect' cubs are few and far between. Plus everyone has different projects.

------------------

What do you guys think?

This feature would basically solve your problem. If the cub is chased then she will have the normal waiting period. Doesnt matter if it is traded or not.

Wait I thought that if we chased off the cub before the age of one the mom would be automatically chased too!

What? No. The cubs can be chased at any time. IF the mother was chased before the cubs reach 1 year, then the cubs will go with her. If the cubs are chased the mom will still stay.

Honestly, I support this. I know some people say it's going to affect the trade market and all that, but honestly from what I've seen it's been greatly affected anyway. Having less desirable cubs filling the market for cheap prices would not be a bad thing. And as it's stated, if you chase away the cubs the cool down is reduced. If you don't chase away all the cubs, still regular cool down so once you get a batch with at least one good cub, you still have the 20 day cool down until you can breed your lioness again. I don't see how this is bad at all. It's an incentive to stop keeping bad cubs and to help you better your pride. Not only that, but it also helps those who prefer to breed for color and keep them. Yes, the trade market will probably fluctuate again for a while, but it will do so no matter how many different ideas get implemented.

For example: Mortality rate of cubs goes up, then there are less cubs, good and bad, to put on the market. Thus the market fluctuates. More good cubs than bad and the market will fluctuate again. If the economy is already "tanked" as some people put it, than this wouldn't really hurt it anymore than it already is and it could, in effect, end up helping just a bit by allowing a few more well stated and more desirable cubs to be introduced, but at a slower rate as the breeding cool down for keeping even one cub is still 20 days.

I don't the problem in this. As I myself chase off cubs I don't like. True in real life when cubs are lost or killed the lioness(es) come into heat faster. If I'm correct Lioden is suppose to be close to realistic? So why not add this feature?

Also Gimore this is Not a breed and sell game so dragging down the market for 'good, nice stated cubs' would not matter as that is Not what the game focuses on.

Great idea! The cub counter will also be more accurate; although, I do like bumping that number up as much as possible.

Full support, I was literally just thinking this the other day xD

If it would also affect lionesses who had stillborn cubs, and therefor had no cubs to raise, that would be good too. (Not sure if anyone else has already said this, internet is dodgy at home so didn't load all the pages and read them)

I totally and completely support this!

It is an excellent idea.
Plus, isn't the cooldown for the lionesses already waaaay too long?
At least realistically. It takes over a year and a half for the lioness to get pregnant again, since each day counts as a month.
Realistically, lionesses have a litter of cubs every year, so the cooldown period is already out of whack, in a way.

I see no reason why we can't implement this.
I have been trying to breed a nice looking cub, that resembles her mother, from this lioness I have for awhile now, and she's almost near death now. I got her at 3 years old and I've been trying with no luck, I think a feature like this would really help those of us that are trying to get certain looks for our pride. c:

Support, I also like that this means a fancy lioness who has one or two crap litters in a row isn't losing years of useful den life, and I don't think it would crash out the market much if at all.

(or, what dizzy said)
