UPDATE!
crafting feathers into DECOR now exists as a feature! lets voice our favor for expanding item crafting and mixing!

----------------------------------

Introduction:
I suppose you all know that frustration of having feathers and meat and things like that stack up in your hoard. stacks of items, sometimes perishables, stacking up because they wont sell, or are not worth selling. there are even trash items that have no use, just sitting there, and tropies, again with no use.

who doesnt know the frustration of having about 20 "snack" meats, of 1 use, and having to constantly re-find the stack in the hoard for each feeding. well, my idea makes another use of such items.

Suggestion:
what if, much like monkey business, we had a station where we could combine feathers and meat into bigger use items, or even special use items?
the station will use a dexterous animal, (preferrably an ape, who has the use of opposable thumbs hence it can build things, or a bird. some birds build quite elaborate nests, you know.) as a clerk.

there will be recipes, perhaps ones we willl have to discover on our own, in which you can combine- say, several feathers and several kinds of meat, or several feathers and bones, to get a bigger, better or soemtimes special item.
items like that can be of several kinds, for example:

bigger feeding itmes- you combine several different carcasses to create a 10 or more uses feeding item. this item can even have a chance of giving +stat like smaller items. if we want to make it more interesting, there can be a chance of losing feeding properties while combining, hence combining 30 uses of food wont necessarily give us a 30 feedings item. there can even be a chance of the brewing spoiling and losing the items.

bigger playing items- combine, say, a few different feathers and bones into a 'bone mobile' or sometihng of the likes, that will have 10 or more uses. as with the food, it may have a chance to give stats and such. and as with the food, it may have a chance of spoiling or having less uses than the combined value of materials.

special items- these will be harder to make, or the materials those of more value or harder to gather, of course, as these items will be more valuable. I'm talking about items akin to ageing chrystals, instant delivery, all these items that have a high value, or even new items with different uses.
wild example off the top of my head:
Sun emblem/stone- an item that will age a lion a month per use, like an instant rollover to one lion.
Passion Fruit- will reduce a day from "days to heat" count, or from cooldown.
and many more. as with other kinds of items, there will be a chance of spoiling the building or brewing and losing the materials or parts of them.

this idea will not only allow us the chance to stack the USES of all these items and meat into bigger, more use items and thus lower the frustration levels of larger den owners having to use dozens of one use items, it will create an extra minigame, and an extra challenge to the game and even a chance of getting rarer special items if one is determined enough to get all the materials. it will also create another market for items that most keep nowdays only for emergencies or quests. furthermore, the special items will be sought after and probably sold by players ofr GB, and GB has to be bought by someone to exist, thus, there will be more cash income to the game.

so, what say you? opinions? further suggestions?

Added suggestions by other players:

Ayin offered:
"You could also buy something from the station, much like monkey business, for a brewed currency. Like..... Maybe there would be a currency called: granite meat. And the only way to get granite meat(although I'm not saying this would be the currency) is to combine two bones with a big carcass."

Drongo offered:
"I like the idea of making...I saw it and I think it's from a past event, but it could be reused: "large chunk of meat", "medium chunk of meat". Maybe you could do something that makes smaller uses into "small chunks of meat" and combine them to build medium and large chunks of meat?

And I like the idea of combining feathers and bones into multi-use toys. Maybe if you make a bigger one, you can have a slightly higher chance at stats? I don't mean 20% or anything extreme, but maybe instead of 1% you can get up to a 5% chance?"

Whimsy ~Bilby's side~ offered:
"Maybe rather than an item that works as an IB feather, there could be an item that can reduce the days til giving birth by 1 day, and can only be used once per pregnancy? And it would have to be reasonably difficult to make, otherwise people will be shortening all their lions to 2 days just to get a slight competitive edge x3"
