Also it would be fun if buying something from the shop would come with unique in-game rewards as well. There could maybe be a promotional event that encouraged buying said products in pairs (so like, a tshirt + a mug, or a calendar + a plushie) and different combinations would result in different combo based cubs being added to your pride maybe?? (combo bases specific to this promotion of course)

Back in the day, when an old school virtual pet site (you surely know the one lol) sold merch, the merch came with virtual prize codes, so you could redeem them on site for special items. :D That would be a cool addition to Lioden merch!

YES!! I love this idea! I was just talking about this with some friends earlier, merch would be amazing! Lioden official stuff as well as custom merch players could get of their lions, beetles, etc. I'd buy a crapton of merch in an instant if this became a thing.

Plushies, buttons/pins, keychains, clothes, posters, stickers, maybe figurines...

Some specifically event-themed stuff would be rad. I second the idea of the avatar tags being available as stuff like key chains, too.

Edit: To make the custom stuff possible, there could be a thing where people select the type of merch they want, then choose one of their lions and import it. That lion would show up on the merch template so players can see what it'd look like before buying.

Even if more complicated stuff like custom plushies aren't viable, I imagine it could work decently for stuff like key chains, button pins, and stickers. Maybe people could choose options like day or night background, close-up portrait or full-body, life stage, etc. I imagine it functioning kind of like the scrying stone or equipper. It could even have the "save design" feature like the scrying stone, and then it'd be an option to go to one's saved designs and do things like edit them, add them to cart, etc.

I support! I don't know if I would buy much, but I think enough players would that it would be viable. If Lioden doesn't want to do the coding, maybe Society6 or Redbubble would be a good site? Obviously that would eliminate plushies, but it would be a good way to evaluate interest without having to invest too much money in trying different vendors.

Seconding Matt's idea of combos, should LD code and source vendors for itself, I think it'd be fantastic to have GB + merch bundles. Like a $30 USD shirt might come with 10 GB (approx. 5 USD).

However, I don't think interest is the problem as much as the logistics are. With the exception of websites like S6 and RB, Lioden would be responsible for manufacturing, shipping, international purchases, etc. At the moment it only has to deal with one of those things. I wouldn't be surprised if they had to hire a staff person just for this.

I've already made a supportive comment but i'd like to add; a site i used to play on that is very similar to this one (Sylestia, for those who know it) has a shop like this and it's done wonders for them! I'd love to be able to get plushies of my favorite NPCs, or even a custom plushie of my leopons or my kings. I would have an entire pride of lions on my bed if given the chance.
