It undermines GB profit for the site. It's taking away when one can just use the same amount of Sb to buy GB from players.

Then over time buy the lion customization with GB.

Can you explain please in detail how this would undermine the GB profit of the site if this only enables very basic, wild color/marking/eye/mane customization with a max of three marking slots?

I'll give you the short version.

Why give people something free when they can pay /already paying for currently?

Let's face it. SB doesn't exist in the living realm. I can't pay for coffee with Play Silver Beetles. :O That's like going up to them and have colorful monopoly money.

However GB has a stance. We use real money to pay for GB. Nothings free about it.

Now apply this to your idea. Oh I can gather up 5k of free sb : D . I don't have to buy or haggled with other players for GB. GB doesn't have to cross my path.

Even limited as this is in colors. If there willing to gather 5k in sb. Your already 1/3 of the way to 15k. Which you can exchange other players for GB for.

The circle of sb and gb continue to circle unhindered. The site makes profit to those who buy gb. The gb buyers can convert it to SB if they please.

I have never had a problem gaining free sb and then converting it to GB. This is just undermining the circle of gb and sb supply / demand.

Also 3 markings slot. In oasis. You only get 1 free. Those two extra slots are the equivalent of 2 FREE GB.

Then as I was thinking. These basic customizing. Will turn those markings available into even worse value. They'll be seen are undesirable because anyone could have them. Also applies to the coats in this idea. They'll plummet in value.

NCL markings are already very low in value. So no need to worry about them. Custom/special markings are what actually sell and can be studded out.

Hence why I decided to make this suggestion. Not everyone would buy this customization option. Those who know can pay for GB will go for GB but I see a ton of players who cannot and dont want to pay 10GB just to customize their male to another NCL color and give it maybe a single mane marking and maybe a cream belly. Currently, these players simply dont customize but neither do they customize for GB because they cannot get enough SB together.

So I am not taking away any GB from the site, as the people who would use this would hardly even come into contact with GB.

Take me for example:
I liked the way my rolled main male looked, just wanted him to be a different base color and maybe add a simple mane marking. But as soon as I saw that even for this tiny wild modification I would need to pay a whopping 10GB, I simply decided to not even customize. But I would have paid the SB then and there, this wouldnt have meant that I couldnt have bought GB later to alter it again.

Actually, I was thinking of replacing the Reroll with this customization option instead as an SB sink. It would cost instead 2000SB, which is reachable to the new players who dont want to or cannot get enough GB anyway to customize their males at first.

Before you point out that this would mean another GB decline for the site, I would like to say that reroll is not bought at all. Not even for SB. It resets the lion completely (stats/lvl) and no one would waste a GB for this, or 2000SB after a long gameplay. I myself thought of rerolling back then but I found that feature useless, and if I went this far, then why should I use the reroll? my lion was lvl10 or 20 by that time with decent stats.

Again, this would hardly affect the GB economy. This would be bought by players as their first customization tool. Markings and colors that are within the tool are all too common now as it is, so will not affect lion economy. (Please note that special NCL colors/markings would not appear here) 2000SB isnt much, barely 1GB, if you are lucky then 2. And the customization options are all too scarce compared to the GB tool. Would you really decline the wish of new members to make their lions look a tiny little neater for SB? Not like they get all the options of the Oasis tool.

Not to mention that NCL colors/marks will not give you any tiny advantage. People who customize for GB customize into custom stuff anyway to make their lion look popular and not be too common. Because who would want to pay for this suggested small customization with GB? To have their lion a dark golden coat with a brown thick mane, and cream belly? You would ask for this 10GB?

I support this idea and I'd like to offer this thought; What if instead of having three slots for markings in one of these basic customization tools there would be different ones for different prices with 1-3 markings? Or even simply a basic marking tool which offers a limited set of NCL markings but for SB? Heck even a tool for changing your lions mane from gold to brown as when I started I know I was very displeased by my lions look and wished I could have rolled a brown maned lion.

Just to add real quick: Only having things available for GB makes the game pay-to-play. This game is pretty much like an iPhone app anyway in regards to how it works. It needs things to make the game more appealing to people that don't want to have to pay. There are enough people buying GB and basic NCL colors for newbies won't hurt.

I personally would have no use for an item like this, but I would support it. When I first started I wanted to be able to reroll my lion as I obviously couldn't get the GB needed to customize at the time, and was hoping to get something better. Needless to say I did not even bother using it by the time that I could since all the work by then would be lost.

I understand the option to customize is definitely a luxury feature. It's not really necessary but it is nice. I don't see why having a lesser version of customizing shouldn't be allowed into the game. The fact that customizing is a luxury aside, it would allow for another SB sink in the game as well. Probably not a huge one, as there aren't many players who want simple, natural-looking lions, but it would be something.

- Help sink excess SB more efficiently than the 'reroll lion' item (this /in addition/ to the reroll item could sink a lot, especially if the customize one is more than the reroll ('why pay that much when I can gamble getting the mark/base/ect I want with a reroll'). Kinda taking advantage of human nature to naturally sink SB, kinda big for people who dont want to buy GB)

- It would make NCL marks 'more available' to the market. Very few people pick NCL or common marks for their kings when they are customized, a lot of time those marks become removed, or they just add marks that mask the NCL marks. Sure you can breed to a lioness with those marks, but thats claiming/feeding/breeding more lions in an over saturated cub market as it is. It would be more efficient to give the main male the NCL mark you want than try breeding 5 new females

- We already have this option (SB vs GB) for nose and eye color, so why not something for manes and coats? Heck, an item for SB that would just apply NCL marks to any lion I can see having use

Im trying to think of some cons, so as not to be biased, but I don't buy into the whole 'they'll use/buy less GB' since every time theres a new eye color people jump from eyes they paid GB for (red/ice/hazel) to common eyes (olive/tan are the latest examples). I've seen people jump from GB paid bases to ones from events, essentially free if you earned them. Fads do exist on Lioden, and this would just help them be more fluid. ((and I still have no idea what the difference between the SB and GB Marking Opacity Changer is honestly xD;; ))

I would add it in addition to the reroll option for the first reason stated. As long as it is just the NCL marks, it makes it a luxury, not pay-to-play to /have/ to buy GB to have a decent looking king. And at the same time it would allow you to have an even better king (read as 'if you liked the SB option, try the advanced version for a little more ~!' lol) by using/buying GB.

If not in a kit, than separate items that accomplish the same thing like the eye and nose changers we already have. And as to what markings or how many I would leave it to the developers/admins, but I do support the idea :D

From a business standpoint, it might even INCREASE the chances of people later buying GB to do the Oasis version, because if they had a positive/fun experience customizing the first King, they will want to make the next one even niftier!
