Milan walked slowly away from Kian. He was heir to the throne and she was to be his Queen. She was tired of hearing Kian saying how she looked beautiful. As he was distracted, Milan slipped away to escape. As she walked she thought about the future. She thought on how she would never find true love. She tried talking to her parents but they refused.

Milan had a normal childhood. She had no friends,but her parents were full of love. Her father would play with her as her mother hunted for the pride. But all that is changing. Soon she will be forced to be Queen, something she never thought of. Milan kept walking as she bumped into a male. Being the shy lioness she is, she stepped back, fear in her eyes. This lion could kill her or take her for himself.

Azisa was lost in his own thoughts, staring off into space, so he hardly noticed when a female bumped into him. But, he still did notice, of course, and he looked at her calmly, examining her. He glanced towards the areas behind the lioness, to see if she had anyone with her, which, she didn't look like she did, which was a relief. He could only deal with so many lions at a time.

"Hello." He greeted in a calm, almost quiet tone, the adolescent male sitting down, managing to look as calm as possible. She seemed shy, so Azisa didn't see a reason to act hostile towards her, not that he really would. He was far too polite, and really just too calm, to do that.

Seeing him sit down relaxed her a bit but not too much, she had to stay alert. She sat down a few feet from him.

"H-Hello," she replied, nervously. She studied his features. He had a black mane with and icy blue-black coat. With her blue eyes, she looked behind him. No other lions were in sight. It was just the two of them alone. Milan started to relax. She got a peaceful feeling from him. She perked her ears awaiting for his next move.

Azisa flicked his tail, watching her for a few seconds, still examining her just a little bit more. She seemed to be around his age, that being a little bit of an older adolescent, and couldn't help but wonder why she was out on her own.

"May I ask why you're out here? By yourself?" He asked her, tipping his head to the side slightly, meeting her eyes, with a calm, crystal-blue gaze. "If you have pride members that could be with you, I mean." He added, breathing out a small, quiet sigh to himself.

Milan's ears perked up. His words were so soothing it relaxed her. She looked at him and got up, moving a bit closer, but still far enough.

"I had to get away from...Kian. He is heir and i am to be his Queen when of age." She replied."My parents are forcing me." She stares at the male. " Why are you out here?" She asked, being curious. He was calm. She moved a little closer but stopped a few feet away. She couldn't get too close. She didn't know this lion. She began to lick her paw. She had a thorn in it but stopped a few seconds later. She can't give away any weaknesses.

Azisa nodded slowly as she spoke, in understanding, not seeming to mind her coming close, keeping that calm attitude. His ears twitched slightly, though, every time she got closer.

"I see. Well, I'm the heir to my own pride. A prince, if you will." He replied. "I'm out here, because my mother is far too protective of me, and my father constantly wants me to train. I only managed to get away while they argued over dangerous training." The young male said, shrugging.

Milan looks at him and tilts her head as she listens to him. She gets closer to him till she is only two feet away. As she looks at him she can't help but feel sympathy towards him. She understands where he is coming from, but her parents were never like that. She flicks her tail.

"I-I'm Milan. I know what you feel like. Do you even want to be King?" She asks, curiosity taking over her. She looks at him and can tell he is a kind lion. She perks up her ears waiting for a response.

A bit of a warning flashed in his otherwise calm gaze, when she got closer. Mostly because he didn't really know this lioness, and therefore didn't necessarily want her that close.

"Not really, no. But, I'm my father's only son, and he does not have any other males in the pride that he thinks are worthy." Azisa replied, shrugging. "I don't have a choice in the matter. My father's words are laws in my pride, what he says goes." He explained.

Milan stepped back seeing he is uncomfortable. She steps back a few feet to give the male room. She sat down and curled her tail around her hind legs.

"Where is your pride?" Milan asked. She was intrigued about how much she had in common with this lion. They both didn't want to be royalty, yet they had no choice. She looked curiously at the male lion. Her shyness fading and curiosity taking over. She had never been around a male lion outside of the pride, she knew she had to be careful, and yet the lion's calm attitude seemed like he didn't want to hurt her.

Milan's parents always told her about the dangers outside of the pride. They told her not to trust anyone unless she knew them. But this lion was different. She didn't know how or why , but just that he was different.

Azisa turned his head, towards his pride, nodding in that direction. "Over there, though I don't think you can see our camp from here. It's sort of in a dip in the ground, lower than everything else, and surrounded by plants. Helps us hide from enemies, somewhat, at least." He said, shrugging, and returning his gaze to her.

"We're a big pride, too. At least 75 lions, and counting." He added, with a small sigh, mostly because he didn't really like being in a larger pride like his. "Where's your pride?" Azisa asked her.

Milan flicked her tail. She could understand that. She didn't like big prides either. She rather have something small, easy to protect. She turned her head and looked behind her. "My pride is over there. A mile or so away. I wandered pretty far.We have 36 lionesses, 7 lions, and 24 cubs." she said, looking at her paws. She didn't know why, but she felt shy again. She tried to gain confidence and looked at the male. His gaze soothed her.

"What's your name?" Milan asked. She tilted her head to the side, ears perked up. She was quite interested in this lion. They had similarities but yet, they could be so different.

Azisa listened to her talk quietly, nodding as she explained how many pride members she had. Her pride was far smaller than his, he noticed, which wasn't too odd. His pride outnumbered many others, and his father was more than happy to eliminate some lions from larger prides, just to make them the largest.

"Azisa. Prince Azisa, if we're going by titles." The young male said, when she asked his name. "Not that I particularly care for being called a prince or anything." He added, shrugging.

Milan was intrigued. She never heard that name before. She listened as Azisa told her his name and tilted her head to the left a bit. Prince Azisa. She didn't like the prince part, mostly because she wasn't a princess, technically. Yes she was the Queen-to-be, but she wasn't born as royalty. She smiles a little.

"That's a nice name. I'm Milan...not a princess though." She said with a smile. Azisa was a kind lion, but kind or not, if her parents find her with a male lion outside of the pride, they would be very upset with her.

Azisa nodded, as she introduced herself, and that she was not a princess. That, would not make his father very happy, his son hanging around lions not of noble birth. His father was strict about that kind of thing, while his mother, didn't care, since she wasn't of noble birth herself.

"I see. May I ask, what the heir of your pride, and your, apparently, future mate is like?" He asked, out of curiosity, though he didn't really show it. He wanted to know because of how his parents had been when they were set up together, an arranged relationship, his mother from another pride, their relationship causing their prides to merge into one, which was Azisa's current pride. Azisa's parents hadn't really gotten along much when they were younger, either, and that hadn't changed when his father became king, or when Azisa was born. Always arguing. So, he couldn't help but wonder what the relationship between this female, and whatever male was going to be king of her pride, was like.
