Cool water lapping at his dark paws, he turned to the pretty calico leader as she greeted him. "Good morning, Halfstar." he said, intimidating eyes showing a small flicker of genuine care, which was quite odd for the tom. Hearing the warrior Shadowpelt scorn Amberpaw, he had to force himself not to hiss, but that didn't stop him from glaring at the tom. Sure, he had been annoyed with the apprentice as well, but still he wouldn't have scolded her as harshy. If he had scolded her, it would probably sound very stern, but still not as harsh. Still, he was pleased that Halfstar had taken care of it and turned to the water, looking downwards to see if any fish would come by. If they would, he'd catch them, if one didn't, he'd be content with it and just sit there, thinking to himself about his sad past, and the duties he would do that day.

The cool breeze ruffled the pitch black warrior's fur as he sat on the shore, salty sea water continuing to lap softly at his paws. Listening to Halfstar, Blackheart nodded at his leader when she told him to gather as many cats as possible and take a patrol out, immediately standing up, "Yes, Halfstar, I will do that now." he said, dipping his head to her before turning to Shadowpelt and Amberpaw. "Amberpaw, you want some experience? Then come on the patrol. And you can come too, Shadowpelt" he said, masculine voice deep and firm, like usual. After saying this, the dark tom began walking back to camp, the sand that had stuck to his wet paws coming off as he walked through the grass.
As soon as he arrived at camp, Blackheart began searching for others to come on the patrol, intimidating eyes soon stopping on Icestripe, a fellow warrior. "Hey, Icestripe!" he called out, heading over to the tom, who was talking to Yarrowkit. "Halfstar told me to take a patrol out, would you like to come?" he asked, cocking his head slightly as the large tom spoke, tail lashing behind him idly. As he waited for the answer, he began thinking about the quantity of the patrol so far. If Shadowpelt, Amberpaw, and Icestrip accepted, it'd be four, including Blackheart himself. Where was Leopardtail? Sniffing, the tom was able to pick up the tom's scent, but blood was mixed with it, and he assumed the warrior was injured. He couldn't come. Blackheart sighed, knowing four cats wasn't that much. Wait, there were also a few other warriors gone, including Tornspirit, Shadowheart, and Foxclaw... Where were they...?
