Sign-ups and additional info can be found here: A Pride's Dynasty Sign-ups The dry season is nearly over and the rainy season is about to start! Soon new life will come into being in more then one sense of the word! The pitter patter of young paws will soon be running through the area and stirring up trouble. What happens though when those life renewing rains never come? Loyalties will be tested and relationships will be strained as the pride has to make a hard decision to either follow the prey that had migrated out of the area making them vulnerable to many things like attacks from humans with the reward of greener pastures and bountiful prey once again if they survive their long trek. Or they can stay in their dying land where at any moment their current king could be dethroned and they risk starvation while hoping the rains will come soon.. ~Rules~ *Be courteous to each other, if you are rude I have every right to ask you to leave. *Mild cursing is fine *Be active, if you end up busy that is fine as everyone gets busy once in a while. Just be sure to drop in and explain why. *No 1x1, give people time to reply. No one likes those people who just go off and post leaving everyone else in the dust. *3+ sentence replies, give us something to post to! Make each and every post meaningful to the plot in one way or another! *Fade when needed, self explanatory *No godmodding, no one likes those omnipotent characters that can't be hurt or harmed! No one also likes having actions done for their character that wasn't approved by them! *Please be semi-literate with proper grammar/punctuation and write in third person. Far to often do I see posts that just make my head hurt otherwise. *This is a fairly realistic rp so no flying animals that do not normally fly, psychic powers, and so on. While human like emotions are allowed your character can't just sit at the watering hole all day gazing at the water. *If you had read all these rules and agree to them then please post "Long live the king.." in the appropriate spot on your application. Available Hunting: Not much besides the occasional Scrub hare and maybe a few Thomson's Gazelle here or there Character SheetsNo thread generated. I was thinking she could be the most dominant, but I am willing to not have Naanda be the most dominant but maybe she is the one in charge of hunting. I like hearing the opinions of my fellow players)) 0 players like this post! Like? |

A large male walked through a steep gorge, his tail swaying behind him as he hung his head low. It had been days since he's tasted the cool refreshing taste of water running over his tongue, and he feared it would be many days more before he ever would taste it again. Growling lowly, he turned to his brother, the heat blazing down on him, and his empty belly making him bitter. "Smell anything?" he snarled, sounding more like he demanded an answer than he was asking a question. His tail flicked strongly at his heels, muscles tense as he clenched his teeth. He hoped his brother didn't hold his attitude against him, and understood it was only the heat bringing his demons forth. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Armani stood ready to go she chuckled a it from light comment "good idea, light I don't think even the vultures would eat that" she chuckled trying to help light brighten the feel of this situation. Rivka padded ahead of the lioness expecting them to follow her as she does so, with every step was a happy skip ahead. Armani smiled padded after Rivka she looked back at the lionesses for a short second and then turned back to face forward. *** Duke trotted behind his brother head low, and eyes almost closed like he were about to pass out, his mouth was dry, he came to an abrupt stop face to face with his brother, his ears were pinned to his head. Light followed behind them, flicking her tail to keep the occasional fly away. She let out a small yawn, as she stared off into the engulfing darkness around them, she sniffed the air, trying to pick up any scents of prey. Naanda only allowed the edges of her lips to curl up in amusement at the comments of the younger lionesses as she trotted ahead. The lead girl didn't mind that the adolescent wanted to take the lead, maybe if they came across anything small along the way Naanda could asses Rivka's skills to see if she was actually ready to assist in small hunts. Small gazelles and the like. It was a short trek to the watering hole which was as suspected, mostly dried up except for a small patch deep into the middle of it. It was nothing more then a shallow pool of liquid which was honestly more like very thin mud. Stepping forwards the toes of Naanda's paws barely got wet as she crouched near the edge and lapped at it, grimacing at the dusty gritty taste of it, in this desperate time though one could not turn their nose up at a source of precious water. ~~~~~~~~~~ Scar eventually found a place to rest, his short round ears perked up listening for any tel-tale signs that there were lions around this area. Eventually his nose picked up on the scent of two traveling males, most likely brothers based on their shared scent. Interested Scar stood as he went to seek them out. 0 players like this post! "I'm going to scout around," Serenity said. She started to walk to the other side of the watering hole, her paws squelching in the mud with every step. The mud had used to be covered in water. Serenity raised her head and scented the air. She couldn't smell any prey, but she did detect two lone males. Suspicious. They were close by, so Serenity slunk through the tall, dry grasses towards them. She just had to make sure they weren't dangerous. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Codac came to an abrubt stop, the scent of a lone male reaching him from somewhere in the distance, he was thankful for the soft current of wind that carried it towards him. lifting his head, he stood tall, making himself out to be intimidating, and with his large stature many would think he was. He didn't want this lion bothering him and his brother, especially since both were so weak due to days without food or water. Yet even against one lion, he feared they might not win, but if his brother wear harmed, no matter how weak, he would give up every ounce of his strength to protect him. 0 players like this post! Duke lifted his muzzle he smelled another male, he didn't smell any lionesses or territory, so being the lion he was he thought of the best situation "maybe he will just pass us you know because we have no lionesses or territory to steal" he said his voice hiding his fear, he had very low experiance and strength. He looked at the Herriot to try and spot any male lions closing on them. *** Armani walked throw murky waters, of the nearly dried up watering hole every step elegant. She sniffed a caracas that laid in the middle of the waters, it was old and rotten. She huffed "there no food with caracas is old and rotten, and there are no hoove tracks to be spotted" she looked around searching for something but nothing. Rivka pranced around splashing water around, but stopped smelling two approaching male her nose twitched she stood still and silent. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Serenity was suddenly distracted from her silent approach by a warthog that was snuffling through the grass to her right. It hadn't noticed the silver lioness yet. Serenity forgot that she was barely in earshot of the lions (Duke and Codac) and jumped at the prey. It squealed and started running straight in the direction of the lions. Serenity chased it and managed to catch up, killing it quickly. Only then did she realize that she was only a couple meters away from the lions. The may not have seen her yet in the tall grass, but they must have heard and smelled her. Serenity dropped the warthog carcass and her eyes went wide as she realized where she was. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Light padded slowing into the dried, she could feel the dust of the mud between her claw, she lowered her head, lightly tasting the muddy water. She cringed as the water touched her tastebuds. Our of the corner of her eye she spotted Serenity going in to the tall grass, maybe she has find the scent of some prey Light thought, as she sniffed the air. Her eyes wide, as she smelled two males, but their scent was only faint. Light padded around the waterhole and sniffed once more, she got a fainted smell of a hare. She looked back at the lionesses " can you smell that?" She whispered, with a small smile, as Light's whiskers twitched, her smile slowly faded. 0 players like this post! As Naanda was about to softly call for the silver lioness back, the scent of the male's hit her tongue making her face scrunch up as she licked at her lips. Calling out softly to Rivka she growled, "Fetch Hikaro, we can try to deal with these two males ourselves if it comes down to it." she said glad that their youngest member was currently the young lioness. If these males ended up being trouble there was nothing to worry about if a take over happened. There was no cubs to dispose of and Rivka was in the safe zone. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Codac froze at the scent of warthog, his mouth salivating, and muscles tightening, prepared to attack, only the scent of females hit him and he froze. Why Suddenly so much lions? He thought to himself, taking a step back as the sight of silver fur flashed from within a section of tall grass. He could smell they were together, in a group of about four. He placed his paw in front of Duke, giving him a stern look. "No further in this direction. I believe there are lionesses up ahead, and they most likely belong to a bigger mass," he instructed, turning his sage gaze back to the tall grass, his lip curling up to reveal more of his large canines.
