The girl doesn't answer him immediately, and his internal panic starts to grow. When she asks him about skipping school, his mind skids to a halt. That was not the track he had been ready to pursue, and the sudden shift in topic leaves him floundering. He must flounder for a second too long, because the next thing he knows, he's being thrown over her shoulder and run through town.

He can't even bring himself to scream, as confused as he is. Maybe this is all some kind of strange, strange dream? Maybe he shouldn't be playing so many horror games? The girl drops him in front of a house in the middle of nowhere, and he feels faint. Wouldn't it be just great if he passed out?

A real cherry on top, that. What else could go wrong? Taking a few deep breaths to orientate himself, Sam takes a minute to stare blankly and unfathomably at the house, with only one striking, intelligent thought: What?

The girl holds the door open for him, as though this is entirely normal, and he's almost certain this is a dream. Why not play along, then? Still stunned, Sam moves towards the door at her impatient prodding. "This is your house?" he asks, as though that is the most important thing to address. He's not entirely sure he can even mention what he thinks, but that thought is normal enough. "It's nice."

Adrienne lets out a snort, as she follows Samuel into the house. The poor boy. She must have scared him into shock. It's crazy how instead of bringing up anything he had just witnessed, any of the vampiric things she had just done, he settled on commenting about her house. Was e just trying to find a neutral subject or plain serious? She settled on thinking it was the first thing before closing the door behind her.

"You didn't hit your head on anything while I was running, did you?" She asks, sarcastically, as she rolled her eyes. It was the first time since they had been talking that she had allowed emotion to be present in her voice. Sure, it had been sarcasm but emotion was emotion. Adrienne scrunched up her nose, and emotion was one thing she didn't want to deal with.

Adrienne cleared her throat, as she pointed toward the room on the left which was the livingroom. It wasn't anything someone would expect from a vampire. And Adrienne knew what humans expected. Coffins and everything black, but her room was the opposite. It was beige and blue. All of her couches and chairs were beige with blue pillows, and she had a blue rug on the floor. Her walls were the same colored blue, and a brown, mahogany table was placed on the rug. It was a nice setup.

She gestured toward the couch, her eyes following Samuel, as he made his way to sit on the couch. What was wrong with this boy? Shouldn't he be freaking out about what he had seen and witnessed? That's what any other human would do but not him apparently. She could do so much to him right now, but it didn't seem as though he saw her as a threat. Adrienne didnt know why, but that brought a tinge if happiness within her.

Adrienne sat on the couch, a comfortable distance from Samuel so as not to tempt herself. The bird had helped, but she was still hungry, still needed to hunt. Adrienne looked into Sam's eyes, as grey eyes met caramel. "Are you okay?" She asks, her voice sincere.

Sam glances curiously around the house, taking in the scenery with a bit of apprehension. What if it's, like, a serial killer's house or something? What if she's some kind of secret murderer? It doesn't seem to be that way, though, if her living arrangement is anything to go by. The house is cozy, decorated with browns and blues, and it feels safe and homey. He listens to her ask, sarcastically, whether he's hit his head. He wonders.

He feels like he should have, because none of this makes sense, but he's certain he didn't. Come to think of it, hearing emotion in the girl's voice is as strange as anything else that has happened today. He hasn't talked to her before now, although they've gone to school together for a while, but he can't recall her ever sounding anything other than stoic. It's a day for new things, he supposes.

The girl gestures to what appears to be the living room, and Sam takes a seat on one of the beige couches. He sits properly, because he might be utterly and entirely confused, but he still has his manners. The couch is soft, though, and he thinks it would be great to slouch in if he could ever find the chance. Crossing his arms over his chest, he turns his body to face the girl and takes a deep breath, meeting her eyes.

He's surprised when she asks after his well-being, because after their spat in the hallway, he feels like that should be the furthest thing from her mind. "Yeah," he says, "I'm fine. I mean, I'm--this is some kind of dream or something, right? So, like, I'm totally confused, but it's fine." He shrugs nonchalantly. "What about you? Why'd you bring me here?"

Adrienne furrowed her eyebrows, before rubbing the area between them. Frowning would do her no good. It would only cause wrinkles, her mother used to say. That wasn't true anymore since vampire didn't age, and their skin remained the same no matter what they did. She scrunched up her nose before running a hand through her hair, sonething she always did when she was frustrated, something she didn't do so much anymore because she tried to keep her feelings in. But this mortal, this human, this boy was starting to bring things out of her, emotions, and Adrienne didn't know for sure yet if she likes it or not. That was odd for we since rarely was we ever indescisive about anything.

She shouldn't be indescisive though, and she knows that. Samuel didn't even know what he was doing! He thought this was a dram for peeps sake! What was she supposed to say to that?! It's not like she could smack him upside the head to prove he wasn't asleep, thag could really hurt him. But she knew Sam needed to know the truth because he had to know he wouldn't wake up from this, that all of this was real.

Adrienne took a deep breath before looking deep into Sam's eyes. She could compel him right now. Compel him to forget about all of this and to forget this thing he had for her, but Adrienne wasn't cruel. She couldn't take away a humans memory just so her secret wouldn't be revealed. He had to know. She ran a hand through her hair, looking him in the eye.

"This isn't a dream," she tells him slowly, keeping eye contact. "All of this is real. The nightmares you heard as a child are real." She took a deep breath before putting a hand on his shoulder. "It's all real." She lets go of his shoulder, standing up abruptly, filled with rage at her own stupidity. "You can't tell anyone!" She snaps, glaring at Samuel. "Do you understand?!" She was bristling with anger and rage now. If he told anyone, they would both be in big trouble.

Sam watches as the girl's face changes rapidly—first, she furrows her eyebrows, and then she's running her fingers through her hair, and he guesses that she's probably anxious. He would be too, he supposes, if he has just killed a bird, skipped school, and kidnapped someone. Her eyes meet his again, and he forces himself not to look away, even as she says things that are completely lunatic.

Is she a lunatic? Probably, he reasons. His nightmares are real? What does that even mean? She touches his shoulder and he flinches. It shouldn't make sense to be scared of her, but, well—after what he's seen, his body seems convinced that she's absolutely a threat. When she stands up, quick and angry, he feels himself cringing back into the couch cushions.

"I'm sorry," he says, feeling irrationally guilt. "I don't understand. What are you talking about? Nightmares? What do you mean? Are you—what really happened outside the school? If I'm not dreaming, then this has to be some kind of joke, right? It's not very funny. Look, I'll leave you alone from now on, if that's what you want. Just let me go back to school."

Adrienne pursed her lips, becoming slightly upset at Samuel's words. First he doesn't believe and flat out calls her a liar, saying this had to be a joke. Who did he think she was? "Why would I play such a lame and stupid joke on you?" She asks, her voice soft and quiet and she looks away from his eyes, trying to let her mind be her own, as she let her thoughts overwhelm her, somethings she hadn't done in a long time.

Anger flared through her! This was the most she had ever felt, emotion wise, from a human since her parent's accident. And she had thought for a moment..... Just a moment...... That he was different. Adrienne scrunched up her eyebrows, shaking her head, what had she been thinking?! She should have known better than this! Yet here she was, thinking that this mortal was..... Adrienne took a deep breath.

She couldn't get too upset at him, or she would unleash all of her emotions including hunger, and she couldn't deal with that right now, or there was a chance she would rip his head off after draining his body of all the blood he had. "For a smart guy, you really are shallow," she snaps at him, glaring at him. "What reason would I have to pull such a prank on you? I don't even know let alone like you. But I thought....."

Adrienne couldn't tell Samual what she had been thinking. That would make her weak, and that was the opposite of what Adrienne wanted. But now she did want Samuel gone. "And I was going to explain to you!" She exclaims, mad at her own self. Why had she been so stupid?! Adrienne huffs before walking to the door, focusing on walking and not using her vamp speed. She opened the door, allowing him out, knowing how difficult it would be for him to find his way back and by the time he did school would be over. "Go ahead, leave. I don't want you here. Just forget this ever happened. Forget what you saw, forget what I told you, and don't tell another soul." Her voice was back to cold and emotionless, as she put herself back together. She held her chin, watching to see if he would leave.

"Tell another soul what?" Sam demands, balking at her doorway. He wants to go back, yeah, but—well, he doesn't know how to get back, and he doesn't want to get lost in the middle of nowhere. Not to mention, it feels wrong to just leave like this. There's a rift here, and he feels the need to fix it. He hates it when he leaves things badly. It leaves a sour taste in his mouth.

"Listen, I don't want to disbelieve you, but I don't understand what's going on here," he says, pleading with his eyes. "You said nightmares are real? What does that mean? Are you saying—are you saying that you're some kind of monster? What kind of monster? What were you doing, back at the school?"

He remembers her, how she'd pressed her mouth to the bird's body and dropped it to the side like it was nothing. What had she done to it? How had she killed it? Is she telling the truth about nightmares? Is she really a monster? What has Sam gotten himself into? It makes fear tug at his heart, persistent and chilling. What if she does to him what she did to the bird? He's making her mad, he can tell. He doesn't want to, but he's so confused. The world has stopped making sense, and he doesn't know how to right it.

"Can we sit down again, please?" he asks, shifting awkwardly in her doorway. "Can we talk this through some more? I'll sit and listen. I'll try to believe, just—just explain what's happening, okay? And if you want, after that, I'll leave you alone and I won't tell anyone about this."

Adrienne keeps her hand on the door, keeping it open, as she looked at Samuel. She was watching Samuel curiously as if he were about to grow a second head and maybe he was. Samuel sat here, and if Adrienne's opinion was correct, he was acting so bipolar. One minute saying she wanted to win and the next minute saying he wanted to leave. What did he want?! This human was really starting to frustrate Adrienne, as she looked at him. What did he want from her? Why was he eliciting such emotions in her?! It was awful, and Adrienne really didn't like it. She didn't like emotions, especially now, from this mortal. Adrienne angrily ran a hand through her blonde hair, as she looked at Sam and snapped, "What do you want from me?!"

She was filled with so much emotion, and it was starting to show! That was the worst part! Even if she was feeling these things, she couldn't make it obvious to the people around her. She could tell she already had by the way her voice had snapped. "I'm sorry but....." Adrienne stopped mid sentence, as she pressed her forehead against the door. Too much emotion.

Adrienne shook her head, as she walked forward, shutting her door behind her. She had showed him so much! Her emotions, her house! She really was changing drastically for this...this human! "No, she answers quietly, her voice cold and quiet and distant again, as she talked, void of all emotion. "There's nothing left to talk about. I too you, I'm a vampire, you think I'm a liar, and you want to go back to school. What more is there to say?"

Sam stares dejectedly at the door, utterly and entirely confused. What is he supposed to do? How is he going to get back to school? How is he going to explain his sudden absence to his friends? And--and is this all even real? Well, if one thing's for certain, he won't get anywhere by standing alone inside of a stranger's house. Taking a deep breath, he gingerly opens the door and follows Adrienne outside.

When she speaks to him again, her voice is frigid. It saps all of the courage and curiosity from Sam's bones and leaves him aching to go back home, to when things were normal, but he knows it's not an option anymore. She's said the word now, hasn't she? No more dodging around it. Vampire. "But vampires aren't real," Sam protests weakly. They aren't, right? They're just made-up stories, and here she is, claiming to be one of them?

But--but that would explain a lot. How she can jump so high, and why she killed that bird. Did--did she take its blood? Is that what she was doing? "Vampires are just stories, and you're saying that they're real? How am I supposed to just believe you? I don't even know you. Can't you like--prove it, somehow?" Does he really want, though? Does he want her to confirm that what he saw at school wasn't just a trick of his own eyes? Does he want to know if vampires are real?

Adrienne stares at the boy in front of her with a blank look on her face. Prove it, prove it? What more could she do to prove it?! He'd already seen her jump, partially saw her face, and not to mention, he was on her back when she used her vampire speed to run back to the house. What else was she supposed to do to prove it to him? What more could she do? She shakes her head. Why was she even thinking like this?! Adrienne shouldn't care about impressing some human, and she never had until now. What was making her react to this human so..... strongly? She wasn't one to like people, yet here she was with him and feeling these feelings. What was wrong with her?

"There's nothing else for me to do!" she snaps, her eyes burning holes into him. "If you don't believe me now than you'll never believe me." Her voice is harsh, unnerving, as she talks to him. Then Adrienne felt veins begin to appear on her face and growled, as she turned her back on Sam. She hated when this happened. Whenever she let out emotion, it was that much easier for her vampire hunger to get the best of her. She hated it.

Adrienne couldn't stop them this time, as dark shadows began to cast under her eyes, and her fangs developed, veins popping out. She scrunched up her nose, focusing on keeping her hunger under control, as she took deep breaths before turning back to Sam. "Do you believe me now?" she hisses before adding softly and quietly. "I'm a monster."
