EscapeWhat? Where am I? What happened?! The last you remembered you were stalking that tasty looking zebra, the next something pierces your side and your out like a light. Now your in a strange cage in a circle-like room with other leopards, there are no lights but you don't need them. Some have obviously been here longer then you as somethings wrong with them. Is... Is that one glowing!? You've been captured by mad scientists and transported to a underground facility hidden under the Savannah. Once a day your let out with the other leopards to hunt in a force fielded room. Inside is prey much larger then the ones out in the wild. Does that leopard have wings!? Whats going on here? Can you and the others find a way out or are you doomed to live in forced captivity forever? Rules1) No Mating/Birthing scenes! <*b>Fade to Black<*/b*> 2) No force mating. 3) NO Powerplay/godmodding; Such as using another character thats not yours in any way. Insta-hitting. Indestructible/Powerful characters. give others a chance to reply before you do! 4) 4+ Sentences! Be Descriptive. Correct grammer and spelling to the best of your ability. NO "Kills prey runs back home drops and sleeps." Or "__ Panted and slept, it was hot outside." Or "Doug asked Jay 'do u know the best place to hunt? r u hungry?' " 5) Keep Cussing to a minimum. 5A) Put 'marshmallowz' if you read this far. 6) Keep the genders even. 7) As many characters as you can handle. 8) Hate the character not the player 9) You cant be in one place then suddenly go to another if something is going on that you dont like. 10) If your character dies, it is DEAD. (THREE Jaguars ; Sprinkles & Kiwi(?) reserved one.) 14) This is a semi-literate roleplay and I understand writers block... Ignore rule 5A and put 'Crazy Catz' in the cats bio if read this far. 15) Please don't 1v1 if others don't reply. You can do this for 4 total posts. IE You, them, you, them. Then YOU have to wait for at least 2 other people.. I don't want my thread clogged with 1v1ing. 16) PREY REFERENCE: Large: Rhinoceros, Young Giraffe, blue wildebeest, Buffalo, Zebra Medium: Kudu, Impala, Eland, Okapi, Hirola, Antelope. XX 17)NEW RULE! There can only be 1 kind of each mutation! There can be different 'variations' of them like the O5 winged, there can be 1 with wings that aren't fully developed or don't work. Or may have feathers growing from their legs and shoulder or something. NO TWO MAY BE THE SAME! 18)NEW RULE! In the beginning all leopards will be there! Though the O5 (Original 5) will call them by their arrival numbers until they fully learn the names and such. The escape will NOT happen until I or Cora says so. I have planned what the escape is and most will have developed their mutations within the first 3 IRL days of being in the lab. Character List:Characters!LEOPARD INFO! ~Original Five... I was planning on having those ones planned and have them lead the leopards (since their more skilled) 1. Winged (Tires quickly when flying)(For never, Forever ; Lead Warrior) 2. Glow in the dark (Can choose to glow or not)(? ; Cub Watcher??) 3. Elemental (VERY limited use on the powers. VERY weak when in use. 10 minutes tops or gets very weak. etc)(Mine ; Leader) 4. Over grown claws & teeth (Cinder ; Deputy) 5. Shadow Manipulation (Can form shadow 'creatures' and move shadows and such. Can't really do anything with powers just yet.)(Cora ; Lead Hunter)~ ~For every 3 leopards there shall be 1 caretaker. They are in a circular room, cages are kinda rounded on the sides and about 2 feet apart. In total there are 20 cages, 2 door ways (One for the caretakers and one to the outdoor arena). They get to hunt twice a day, before sunrise and after sunset, ALL leopards go out at once. 24/7 water by electric pipes that run through the tops of the cages into good sized bowls. Cages are big enough for cats to walk in circles and lay out fully like this XX~ Caretakers + Their leopardsVeronica - The oldest of the five caretakers, she doesn't ever treat her leopards and rarely does anything for the poor creatures. She'll refill the automatic containers when needed but that's about it. Veronica is 5'9, has dark brown hair and matching eyes. ~ Nightlight ~ Hetero ~ Sylvia Sebastian - A loving caretaker, often treating his leopards and sneaking them food in-between hunting hours. Sebastian is a massive 7', with army-cut black hair and startling silver-like eyes. ~ Sten ~ Wanheda ~ Vex Lacy - A lazy girl who only does what she has to and ignores them the rest of the time. Lacy is 5'7, has curly blue streaked black hair and dark green eyes. ~ Astra ~ Vesper ~ Rainy Dustin - A kind young male who treats his leopards often, even when not instructed to do so. Dustin is 6'6, short blonde hair and bright blue eyes. ~ Jasper ~ Aozora ~ Kalik Amethyst - A bright young girl, the youngest there in fact, who takes great care of her leopards and even sneaks ice into their water to cool them down. She is 6'1, with startling green/blue eyes and dark drown, nearly black, hair. ~Azure ~Claw ~Dride ~Thalviraz ROOMS/ARENAArena ~ (Couldn't find good picture) It is a large circular area. It has a diameter of 1.6 Km. Holds quite a few different kinds of wildlife prey (SEE RULE #16!) for the leopards and is guarded by a 24/7 force field dome over top and below. The Cell Room. (^^^) It is a circular room, about 12 m in diameter. Around the room, spaced about 1 foot apart is a bunch of cages. They are the perfect size for a big cat to move in and lay out. This room has only 1 source of light, a really dim security light in the middle of the ceiling. To the north of the room is a set of double doors where the people enter and exit. The room (^^^) A long rectangular room with 2 sets of long metal tables. This is where they place the leopards during experimentation. To the southwest of the room is the set of double doors where they bring leopards in/out of to be tested on or returned to cages. (I was thinking both for the shoulders and with the tail imagine a Stegosaurus' tail spikes but covering half the tail instead of being just 4 spikes on the end, it'll be 6-8) Vex Male / 2.6 Years / Spiked Mentions: Sylvia. Location: Arena Vex smirked as she flicked his nose playfully, feigning pain and rubbing his nose with a frown. He huffed lowly, backing up a few steps as she jumped down to look him over. "I need to move though, I need food." He smiled weakly, glancing at his shoulders with a sigh. "They've been popping up since they first injected me. I figured it was just a reaction to the medicine at first but now.. I'm not so sure." He moved his tail into view were 6 bumps, a bit larger then the ones on his shoulders rested on the end of his tail. He winced as he flicked the appendage around a bit and huffed lowly as he tried to decipher if any more were popping up. The ones on his tail were kinda pointed outward, three to both sides of his thick tail, each pointed outwards. On his shoulders however the bumps were pointed back towards his rump and towards his collarbone. 0 players like this post! Like? |

(@ Wolf: Gotcha. Upward and outward pointing spikes on the shoulder blades, presumably bone-based extensions? That and several spikes splayed outwards along the near-end of the tail pointing laterally. Thank you, that actually helps quite a bit. Now. I am actually medically inclined {along with a bit more interested in the growth process than I'd like to admit} and I would like to make this a bit more realistic. Vex should probably be experiencing some extra food cravings along with calcium and phosphorus deficiencies as the new extensions grow in. To offset this, perhaps he could eat a few slender bones, egg shells and get some extra fresh blood from kills. Eggs in general would be excellent for him. His tail should be the most painful if not in motion, as the spine is very thin in the tail. There are very few muscles there to support all that new weight, unlike in the shoulder area. He would probably have to train a bit to keep from whacking it into things as its' weight and center of gravity changes. In motion, especially in a sprint, the shoulders would burn. Literally burn as the lactic acid buildup would concentrate around the developing bone extrusions, driving the local pH down and possibly killing some of the new tissue. If you do want to go this far in depth, or would like a greater explanation, please PM me and we can work some stuff out :] EDIT: This is actually a monster post and I apologize for that. Shifting over so she could watch it a bit more, she studied it as she did his shoulders. Indeed, there were at least six sites that were definitely inflamed and bruised like Vex's shoulders were. Instead of new blood pooling under the skin, there were irritated areas following the musculature. It almost looked strained by the weight of the lumps. They must have been more dense than she thought, and not mostly full of mucus and pus as she had first imagined. Her whiskers twitched as she hummed consideringly. "Now I am not going to touch your tail," she informed the male at her side. "I am going to ask if it has been feeling heavier, if you have had any difficulty in moving it, or have lost any range of fine motion with it however. Please let me know tomorrow how you feel, or if anything changes, especially after those 'medicines' they give us." Softening her expression, she looked at the leopard at her side. "I'm sure you'll be fine," she soothed. "Everyone else has been, and the originals have been here much longer than we have." Confused but expectantly at the male's reaction and words, she frowned, though didn't hesitated in her movements. "Well... Then i'm grateful with you. I will return you the favor someday.", Wanheda bowed to reassure her own words. Although she truly hated herself for showing weakness to the rest of the leopards, she was not as stupid as to refuse a meal that would help her survive, providing her some energy to last another day. That, if her body managed to raise her temperature to normal standards. Her head was lowered and her frontal legs flexed slightly to allow her large figure to eat properly, her mouth tasting the esence of life, and the flavor of the soft meat. "You are indeed very nice.", she'd tell with a minuscule smile that rosed her maw before her tongue focused on cleaning the bloody pelt around her snout. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Kalik I Female I Wings(Limited) I Mentions: Jasper, Astra, Aozora Awaking, Kalik looked around. Nothing major had happened. Stretching, her hide quivering with the effort, Kalik turned, purring silently. I didn't miss anything. I am still alive and well. Good job, Kalik. Stay well. Stay alert. Stay alive. She sank her claws into the earth. "Yum," she murmured, looking at the mother buffalo carcass. Crouching down, Kalik stretched open her jaws in a yawn, then she dug in, relishing the way the delicious meat sang on her tongue. When Kalik had finished, she licked her paw, then drew it over her left ear delicately. The food had not satisfied her hunger... yet. After burying the bones, she sauntered over to an okapi female, standing away from everything else. Kalik approached it downwind. Licking her lips, she hunkered down, her pelt rippling with excitement. The okapi's ears swiveled. Kalik froze, refusing to let her tail twitch. Come on, okapi. Nobody here... just move to the right a little.... Yes! Kalik pounced, then sank her claws into the okapi's neck. The okapi squealed once, then fell silent, her pelt twitching, and its eyes rolled back into its head. Kalik bit the okapi's neck once more, causing it to fall still. Checking its chest for breathing, Kalik sat down, satisfied that her prey was dead. Growling with delight, she leaned over and delicately bit the okapi's right foreleg, savoring the taste. Eating as neatly as possible, Kalik eventually finished the whole carcass, drawing her tongue across her chest proudly at how beautifully she had ate. Suddenly, Kalik stiffened. There was a tingling in her shoulders. Craning her neck, Kalik inspected her shoulders. The previous three feathers per shoulder had multiplied to 10 feathers per shoulder, the start of small wings. What in the name of the earth that I stand on has happened to me? Then she remembered. She awoke on a hard, gray table in a white-walled room with a human next to her. She hissed, frightened and angry. The human had stuck a hard tool into her shoulders filled with white liquid, and three feathers had grown within the next hour. Kalik drew in her breath. An image formed in her mind. She was gliding two leopard-lengths high in the sky, her snow-white wings stretched out on her side. Although they were smaller than usual, the wings worked fine. When the vision left her, Kalik sprang up, pacing with frustration and confusion. Spotting the originals trying to scare some newcomers like her, Kalik decided to deliberately ruin the scare. Kalik dashed over to them, her paws eating up the ground. "Excuse me? Originals? What's going on with my wings?" Kalik asked sweetly, shaking the feathers on her shoulders. (Edit: Wow, this is long. "I hope they don't get worse!" His lips curled up quickly as a intense pain hit his shoulders and tail when he moved it by accident, he stumbled backwards and his forepaws gave out. Sending the leopard's front to the ground, jostling his body and causing a very pained expression to cross his features. "Weight.. Yes.... Move... Barely..." He muttered around sharp bursts of burning and stinging. Vex snarled lowly, "Stupid... Humans.." He was panting slightly by the last bit, letting his back paws slowly lower to the ground and lay down painfully slow. -school is wiping all creativity from me ;-;- 0 players like this post! Like? |

(@Wolf: Ah okay. Wasn't sure if you'd like or dislike the 'rantiness' of that all there. And the spine thickening in general, especially along the tail and it's base would probably be a good thing with that. Good plan! That also makes a heck of a lot of sense! I'm sort of curious about your first idea now though. Ah school! The bane of all creativity! *swats off calendar with a stick* In case it is confusing, I am assuming that you have the spikes growing a bit at a time, as if the injections were to kick-start immediate growth, then short bursts of later growth. These would shorten and weaken as the drugs would lose their potency and exit the cat's system. This is how I am addressing the spike development, along with some background tooth research on impacting and erupting teeth. Same idea really--bone pushes through skin painfully. Strangely enough, catnip is apparently an opiate-producing plant though. Maybe that is a reason for some of it's stranger effects. *was looking up herbs that I may be able to use later--Commiphora Myrrha, or Myrrh, is the closest that Africa has to poppy flowers--and even then it's more of a middle-eastern tree...which doesn't help because poppies grow there too* -sort of regrets having a mental mutation now, because this is turning into a ton of fun...but I can't think of any cool physical ones right now- xD @Everyone else: If you have a mutation that is physically based that you'd like me to look into for you, please let me know! -feels inspired again- Also, if someone could think of a plant-based pain reliever that would grow naturally in central Africa, that would be great!) ------------------------------------------------------------- Sylvia Female / 22 Months / Polydactyl Paws, Telekinetic / Medicine Cat Mentions: Vex, Open / Location: Arena Sylvia's ears twitched at his declaration of her self-worth. Pressing her lips together in anxiety, she wondered how she could help soothe the obviously painful areas on his tail and shoulders. The normal go-to, licking a wound like this clean, would only exacerbate the pain. There was no time to go looking for herbs or water, as she had spotted neither in any of her excursions so far into this arena so far. "Just breathe in deeply," she coached quietly to the leopard. "If you can try to move your front legs at all, try extending them and drawing them inwards slowly. I think you may have some acid buildup in your muscles, which certainly isn't helping. Here, I'll be right down," she quickly rattled off, clawing her way back up the tree. Yanking the calf carcass back and dragging it in front of the exhausted leopard in front of her, she nosed the abdomen over to his snout. "See if you can't get any fluid out of here; there should be some blood and water near the intestines and liver. That may help you a bit," she mewed bracingly. Hetero I Male I Invisibility I Mentions: Kalik and the Originals (very faintly) Awaking from his peaceful sleep, Hetero blinked, remembering where he was. His white teeth gleamed as he yawned, scaring a mole away. Hetero glanced at his pregnant rabbit. She had given birth! Swiping his tongue over his jaws, Hetero reached in and killed her with one swipe of a claw, then dragged her up and out of the hole. Sinking his teeth into her flank, Hetero took bites and bites of the rabbit mother, almost satisfying his rumbling stomach. Taking one of the leftover rabbit carcass's, Hetero once again gobbled that one up happily. His stomach stopped growling with hunger when he had finished. Stretching, Hetero padded over to watch a leopardess innocently ruin the Original's plan to scare some other newbies. Purring with laughter, Hetero was completely unprepared for what happened next. His eyes glowed purple as he thought, I am slender, I am gone. I am invisible whenever needed, over and over again, causing him to disappear from sight. Slinking towards a gazelle, he walked right up beside it and it didn't notice him. He drove a claw through its throat. Looking around, he realized it: Nobody can see me. Gasping, Hetero slid back into consciousness. He was curled up in a ball, his heart pounding. What was that? 0 players like this post! Like? |

She asks, concerned for her sister, Rainy was the younger one, after all. Her tail flicked nervously, she expected bad news from her sister. "i'm fine" she answered bluntly. Rainy glanced down at her paws, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. They weren't hurting anymore, so why did Rainy have a strange feeling about them, she knew it was the injections they had given her in The Room. She had been half asleep, the memories were fuzzy, she remembered pain. She winced at the memories, Azure noticed, and butted her sister encouragingly. Rainy smiled it off, acting like it was nothing. She waved her tail at Sylvia, trying to take her mind off what was happening to her. "I'm starving" she decided, flicking the leopardess across the nose playfully. She opened her jaws, searching for a scent of prey. She couldn't find one, she turned to her sister. Wondering is she had more luck. (oh just wondering, how much time do we have left in the arena? Only wondering not trying to rush anything :) 0 players like this post!
