He got that same trace of bird and he nearly jumped, but his instincts told him not to. His fathers harsh training had already taught him that, he gave a nod to her as he stalked off and looked for another piece of prey. The tom soon ran into the scent of a squirrel, it was at the curve of the tree and it looked nice and plump. The perfect peice of prey, as the tom stalked closer he managed to stalk without crumpling any leaves and to not breathe out loud. The tom held his breath and made sure not to shake or to rush himself, as he stalked forward he prepared to pounce and did so. He managed to make a smooth kill and he picked up the peice of prey and he checked the air for other scents.

Emberwhisker, She-cat, Mentions: Snowypaw

Emberwhisker flicked her tail excitedly, her legs quivering with the effort to contain her urge to squeal like a kit. She breathed steadily and grounded her paws, a calm look overcoming her face as she turned to Snowypaw. "Come, let's go get another cat to patrol with us." Emberwhisker, shook out her stuff shoulders and padded calmly over to the Warriors den with an experimental sniff. "Anyone up for a patrol?" She called anxiously, a surge of excitement racing up her spine again.

Runningtail, Tom, Open

Runningtail sighed and turned away from Ferretstar with a shake of his head, then sniffed around camp. Barely any cats remained available for a border patrol, so he shook his head sourly and padded out of the entrance. Thunder began to crack in the distance, and Runningtail suppressed a shiver as the rain began to plop on his spine. "Stupid rain, stupid FrostClan, stupid everything!" He snarled, unsheathing his claws agains a gust of wind, then ducking low and creeping around to stay out of its powerful streaks. Suddenly, the babbling of a nearby stream made him shriek in surprise as its current sucked him beneath its surface. Yowling out in the storm, he twisted and turned in an unimpressive attempt to free himself from the river, but it was too strong. Runningtail let himself fall limp against the current, the last stream of bubbles escaping his mouth as the river held him underwater, the rain pending against the surface as SapClan went about their business, their deputy unknowingly hunting among the stars.

Snowypaw, female, apprentice

The young calico glided over to where her excited mentor was looking for more members to join them. She deflated a bit as the rain hit, her tail and body slouching somewhat as her pelt got wet.
"Strange weather were having." She mewed softly, turning her head from the warriors den to the dark skies above. The storm had come in fast. "I can't help but feel theres... Something... Aah" Snowypaw shook her head. Her wide, large eyes found the medicine cat den and she zoned out for a moment.

Brindlebat, male, Warrior

Brindlebat had watched Birchfur and Ravenshadow go, his billowing tail twitching in amusement. He'd let them go alone and mayhaps ask how that went later.
"Hey!" The tom bounded over to Emberwhisker. "Since its raining, want to go check out the streams? I bet they're going to be all great and high and maybe we could catch a frog or see if we can find any birds hiding from the storm." He was practicallg drooling. Frogs werent for everyons, but Brindlebat was rather fond of them.

Emberwhisker perked up as Brindlebat approached her, and she nodded excitedly, leading the way out of camp. The moor stretched out in front of them, the rain pouring hard down on their pelts, making their fur sleek and sticky against their bodies. "This rain bettered not keep up, the gathering is only a few nights away." Emberwhisker murmured, silently agreeing to Snowypaw's earlier statement. The stream babbled ahead of them, the crackling thunder and the Lightning flashing making it light up as the cats lined up on the river bed. "I could use some fish. Haven't had one since this rain started." She murmured, inspecting the water until a shadow flickered in her view. Narrowing her eyes, she stretched out until her paw was only a mouselength away, then she struck out, and to her surprise brought up nothing but a claw full of fur

In response to Birchfur's nod Ravenshadow cocked her head slightly, watching him leave. Her mind didn't dwell on the other for long as her ears quickly perked towards the direction of the bird. Ravenshadow felt everything around her slow in her anticipation, her mind was concentrated on only her prey as she stalked forward silently, lifting her paws carefully, placing them down gently, moving moderatelly, eyes dialated. When through the undergrowth the bird came into view she shot forward and lept at it, pulling it down to the ground after it began to take off in a futile attempt of escape. Ravenshadow picked the thrush up in her jaws and found her way back to Birchfur, dropping the thrush at her paws. "Nice squirrel," she commented, her gaze showing she was impressed with it. Hunting was the only time she showed such.

Just after Runningtail left, Ferretstar decided to go to the entrance, breath some fresh air, the usual. He cleaned his silky fur carefully, and turned to a mysterious, creepy sound. Ferretstar stood still for some seconds, awaiting for another sound. It kept getting louder or creepier. Ferretstar felt heavy and scared. What in starclan's sake was that?
Ferretstar got into the camp again, and exclaimed, with an alarmed voice. "I need 3 or 4 cats right now! If you haven't done anything on all day, you must follow me."
Not waiting anyone, Ferretstar trotted out of camp, Volunteers would follow him and track his scent if they get lost.
Ferretstar proceeded to leap over a log, before seeing a pretty crude scene. Before him, a stream was carrying everything that got on her way and shredded it to pieces. The origin of the unpleasant sounds was not the exception.
Sapclan's deputy was not the exception.
Ferretstar looked at his body, His eyes were still open, and a wisp of water ran out of his mouth. Ferretstar wanted to scream, but he only let out a gasp.

Emberwhisker looks up with a gasp as Ferretstar approached, and helped him drag Runningtail's tattered body out of the stream with a sick groan. "Oh, StarClan no..." She murmured, feeling a caving in her stomach as the dead cat was dragged out. The rest of the patrol hurried over and quickly backed away. The deputy was nearly torn to pieces, his fur plastered to his body body and his eyes bloodshot and open. A large gash on Runningtail's head was oozing and his limbs were bent awkwardly. "I'm so sorry..." Emberwhisker gagged, looking at Ferretstar with a horrified glaze

Brindlebat, male, warrior

"What do we do?" Brindlebat said to Ferretstar, his voice horse. He wanted to run. Run and run and run, away from the high stream water and from the storm that roared overhead. But his paws stayed locked in place due to fear.

Snowypaw, female, apprentice

Snowypaw ran after her mentor, her pelt trembling lighty both from the rain soaking through her and the death of the deputy. She glided forward, unsure of what to say or do, closed her wide eyes and pressed her head into a part of Runningtail's chest that had not been ruined.

In response to Birchfur's question Ravenshadow sat and flicked her tail in a way that indicated indifference. "I always want to hunt. But I guess it'd be best to head back to camp to drop what we have off." The black female studied Birchfur for a moment before she chuckled. "Should both of us go back or just one?"
