Feathering in horses is where long fur/hair grows at the bottom of the legs and covers the hooves beautifully. It is a common feature of Draft Horses, such as Clydesdales and Shire Horses. As there aren't a lot of Male adult mutations. We have, what? Overgrown Teeth, Overgrown Claws, and Maneless? I think that's it. So this one would just be something nice for them =) I thought they could be the same colour as the mane for simplicity sake. I suppose they could also be base coloured? It would definitely depend on how Xy would want to do it. Examples: (keep in mind these were thrown together very quickly and Xy would do them MUCH better) Alternative fade in: Important points: Yes, this is a mutation that does not naturally occur in lions. But I am suggesting it for two reasons: 1. This is Lioden, not real life. We can have blue and pink lions, an event based on demons and zombies, and impossible for lions swirly markings. 2. In horses this originally began as a mutation before it was bred into standard. Why can't lions suddenly gain a new mutation? Isn't that precisely what mutations are? New genetic changes that don't match the previous standards? Alternative / Additional Styles: By Fae "I didn't have time to do any more than one leg, but if this were to be implemented, it'd be cool if it flowed a bit more and looked a little bit less like a horse's feathers, imo. <3" This one would be nice as an alternative, or even a second, separate version of the mutation similar to the different Manes of the females. Edit 1: I think this may also be a good candidate for a hereditary mutation like OF =) Edit 2: A lot of people are wanting this as a custom decor, instead! That's a great idea! At this time, however, I'm keeping it up as a male AMP since there's not a lot for them =) If it gets rejected/is up too long then I'll definitely see about the decor! Edit 3: Kitti- If it was to become a decor, I'd rather see it as a decor you get from an event or shop, that way anyone can get it and isnt just set for 1-6 people.. Taehyung- Yeah, and since November (I think) has horse decors, we could make it into a flippin' horse dΓ©cor you get in November! Edit 4: There is nothing in my opinion that would make it impossible to grow longer fur at the bottom of the legs, since it's possible to grow manes and because it would be a mutation. Additionally, "Unrealistic" is hardly applicable now that Labradorite exists. I would also like to add that this would be a male only mutation since females have plenty of their own mutations already. Moonie- https://bubblypetz.wordpress.com/2014/05/23/hairy-growth-from-paw-pads/ Hyperkeratosis is a real thing that exists. It affects dogs and cats, usually it only affects the pads and noses, however perhaps it could mutate into something more severe or find one individual it affects worse than others? For those of you saying this is unrealistic, take a look at the tree man he simply is infected with the organism that causes warts, but unlike most of us were we'd get one or two that could be cut, frozen, or burnt off, he is covered in thousands upon thousands of them. To the point that they've done several surgeries to give him basic functionality of his hands, and they still grow back. So it is possible for things to mutate or find a host that they can change drastically inside of. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epidermodysplasia_verruciformis Update: His name was Dede Koswara, he died January 30th 2016 after complicatications related to his condition. The condition is known as Epidermodysplasia verruciformis AKA treeman syndrome RIP Dede. |

I'm not a fan of them as a mutation, but they'd be a fun decor like ear tufts/maned elbows! 0 players like this post! Like? |

I do not support for the following reason: It is better suited as a custom decor. There's already a suggestion for OG Fur for males that's being considered, and i think that would encompass "feathering" on the legs, too, that would kinda make this suggestion a moot point. 0 players like this post! @Dete & waya - Valid thoughts. I personally wouldn't be able to do that as I am a 100% failure at matching Xy's style, so it would have to be someone else. I'd seriously consider that if the suggestion fails completely. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Personally, I prefer Fea's example. Although this looks a bit silly, it still looks very graceful and interesting in my opinion. I would love to have a king with this mutation one day! Support. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 11/10/16 @ 21:17:15 by Zypheria β― (#49415) |

This is a thing in dogs too, though it looks much different than on horses. My papillon has epic butt feathering LOL Here's a papillon example http://animalsbreeds.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Papillon-dog-3.jpg Welsh springer spaniel https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/ab/Welsh_Springer_Spaniel_1.jpg Saluki http://www.salukiclubvic.com.au/uploads/1/0/4/0/10408471/3453254_orig.png So maybe we could have feathering off the rear and elbows and hanging from the tail? Just an idea :) 0 players like this post! Like? |

I too would prefer this as a decor like ear tufts and elbow tufts so I can put it on my favorite lions myself instead of hoping to breed it but it's a cool suggestion. I support. 0 players like this post! Like? |

That is somewhat like this, with the extra fur, but it doesn't cover the whole foot like a Horse's Feathering O: 0 players like this post! Like? |
