Temperatures dropping slightly | Misty with occasional snowfall |Prey is active in the depths of the tunnels and scurrying around outside | The Gathering is taking place later in the day (postponed), and all the cats are excited |

Lavenderstar | Female | Gemclan | Central Cavern | Mentions: Cherrypatch {Directly} Clanmates {Indirectly} Open for Interaction

Lavenderstar blinked open her brilliant eyes with a small groan, another cold day. She thought to herself as she rose on unsteady legs. Shaking the odd feather from her pelt, Lavenderstar emerged from the hollow. A quick glance around the camp confirmed that some cats were waking. As she gazed at the sleeping warriors' twitching muscles, she was reminded of her own hunger and need to hunt. Lavenderstar shook her sleek pelt once more before hurrying over to the entrance, the frozen ground was sensitive on her paw-pads and the medicine cats would need to be prepared with dock for aching feet.

She nodded to the warrior standing vigil, muttering a small thank you before dashing back to the warmer area. She supervised the camp, keeping track of the warriors who were active and helping. 'They can come to the gathering' she thought, also noting the lazy ones who stayed in their nests as they groomed fluffy pelts. Lavenderstar quickly spotted the deputy, smiling when she realized Cherrypatch was already getting together the patrols. "I volunteer for the forest hunting patrol." She said in warm tone, eager to be helpful. Multiple patrols were sent out everyday, some went deeper into the mountain to find rodents and other small prey while the forest patrols went along the small forest territory and rocky beach that bordered the lake.

Brazenflame| Male| Warrior| GemClan| Central Cavern| Cherrypatch, Lavenderstar

The huge tom lowered his muscular body into a crouch, his rippling golden fur broken by odd jet black spots and random stripes. The reddish hue of his pelt glowed slightly as the sunlight reflected off of the undulating water. He raised his head, his bright turquoise eyes focusing on Cherrypatch and Lavenderstar. It looked like they were collaborating together to make the hunting and border patrols. Flicking his ears he stood, shaking bits of moss off of his fur. With a huge stretch the massive male made his way over to Cherrypatch and his leader.
"Good morning, is there anything I can help with?" He mewed, his deep voice rumbling through the air. There was no way he was going to stay at camp all day, he needed action, maybe a good battle. Hopefully he would have an apprentice soon, because teaching battle tactics to a young cat would at least give him something to do everyday. Maybe he would even have kits of his own someday. Finding a mate was a little hard though, as he hadn't found the perfect she-cat to catch his heart.

"I would love to be part of the border patrol." Brazenflame added, excitement bubbling up in his chest. The border patrol was always a lot more interesting than hunting patrols. Catching prey was all well and good, but unless he came across a particularly hard piece of prey to catch, it just wasn't challenging enough for the tom. Perhaps that was why he couldn't find a mate. A she-cat that would be able to handle his bold personality was rare. Brazenflame chuckled to himself, then focused back on the conversation.

Nightstorm| Female| Warrior| GemClan| Central Cavern| Brazenflame, Cherrypatch, Lavenderstar

A lean she-cat weaved her way through the twisting tunnels that led to the central cavern. She had been able to catch a few fat rats on her adventures into the deeper parts of the mountain. They hung by their tails from her mouth, dangling recklessly in the air as she walked. Her piercing blue eyes stared straight forward, one of them accentuating the long scar that broke up the dark mahogany of her face. She had gained it in a fight against a badger, and it was one of her favorite stories to tell. The kits in the nursery loved it as well, even though their mothers found it exasperating when their children decided to act it out. Nightstorm however, found it adorable and flattering that her adventures amused them. Blinking as she emerged into the much brighter central cave, the she-cat made her way over to the fresh kill pile and deposited the large prey. They would make a good meal for some hungry warriors. Spotting Cherrypatch, Lavenderstar, and Brazenflame conversing together, Nightstorm decided to join them.

"Good morning! Do you need more cats for the patrols?" She asked cheerfully. Her dark tail curled around her paws as she sat, contrasting greatly with the soft cream of her pelt. Despite all of her scars, Nightstorm was still quite beautiful. With a lean, muscular body and sleek fur, she was quite striking in a different way. The she-cat wasn't soft and pretty like some of the queens in the nursery, but brave and alluring. She had an angular face and her eyes were more slanted than most, giving her an exotic look. Her ears, face, paws, and tail were all a dark mahogany. While her head and middle were a pale golden-white. Scars marred her body, but they were mostly hidden by her fur.

"I found a great spot for hunting rats deeper into the tunnels Lavenderstar, they're huge, and plentiful. I don't think any cat has hunted down there for quite awhile." Nightstorm said, turning her attention to the leader of the clan. With leaf-bare approaching, the clan needed as much prey as it could get.

BEETLENOSE | Tom-cat | Warrior | Gemclan | Training Hollow

Beetlenose wasn’t one to mope about and he refused to let the current weather bring him down. Although it had snowed heavily during last night’s patrol. This morning, the whole territory sparkled and it was as if everything had begun anew. He was in an incredibly cheerful mood despite the snow that had wheedled through his fur and caused his fleecy pelt to cling cold against his skin. And despite the fact that his limbs were aching from all the walking he had done the day before. There was a skip in his step as the tom ambled over to a loud group of apprentices.

They were heading off to the training hollow and although Beetlenose had many more moons to go until he received an apprentice of his own. He still enjoyed supervising. There was something rewarding about bringing amusement to a dreary activity, as an apprentice Beetlenose could never stay attentive for long and his mentor’s nagging was far too bothersome. Now that he was made a warrior, life was relaxing and the moons went by slower.

It was the little things that the warrior cherished. Like the way a kitten’s eyes brightened up when he told them a funny story or when the sunlight would seep in through cracks in the stone and makes the tiny gems along the walls of the cavern, glimmer all the more brighter.

The occasional “Good try!” and overly-enthusiastic “That’s right’s!” floated from the small clearing, reaching the ears of cats passing by. Beetlenose barely managed to stifle his laughter as a friendly spar begun to turn into a wild tail-chase. His paws itched to join in but thankfully, he held himself back and lead the young cats back to the task at paw.

He couldn’t wait to become a mentor!

CHERRYPATCH | She-cat | Deputy | Gemclan | Central Cave | Lavenderstar, Nightstorm, Brazenflame

No matter how many clanmates would approach Cherrypatch throughout the days. She couldn’t help but feel lonely most of the time. The nights she spent with some infatuated tom wasn’t enough to make her feel whole and she knew Beetlenose was angry at her for it, he accused her of becoming more like their mother. The silvery cat bit back a hiss at the memory of their argument.

He didn’t know that her stomach would squirm from guilt with every cat she charmed, and how many times she would lie awake mulling over scenes in her head and how they could have played out differently if she had done something..anything. She had plenty of regrets and some of them could not be fixed.

Because..Cherrypatch was bearing kits and she knew what her clanmates would think of the news. They would scorn her. Heck! Even she was unsure of who their father was. The deputy resolved to ignoring it. Perhaps until it became entirely obvious. Starclan knows what she would do then.

Lavenderstar’s gentle voice brought Cherrypatch back to reality. The deputy plastered on a smile and directed a nod her way in greeting. “It’s a perfect day for it! Lucky for you, the first hunting patrol is just waiting for one more. May you find good hunting.” With that, she spun around with her mind set on checking in on Moonpelt and the cats stricken with cough. The marbled cat’s plans were put to a halt as the large golden tom sauntered over to them, followed by the blue-eyed Nightstorm. Her smile faltered minutely.

“Ah! Brazenflame and Nightstorm, you are welcome to join the evening border patrol. You’ve missed the two that have only just set off.” She meowed over her shoulder. “-Why don’t you see if the elders need any more feathers for their nests or you could help me gather water!” Cherrypatch suggests. Before busying herself with clawing moss of the stones to carry to the lake.

Brazenflame| Tom| Warrior| GemClan| Central Cave| Cherrypatch

Long claws scored the rock as Brazenflame dragged his large paws down the moss covered stone. He gave Cherrypatch a friendly smile and then returned to helping. He'd always enjoyed the deputy's company, they could work together in companiable silence, which he enjoyed. But it looked to him like she was sad about something. Brazenflame had always been good at reading others, even though he tried not to pry. If they didn't want to talk, he'd leave them alone. The least he could do was ask if she was alright.
"So, how are you doing lately Cherrypatch? You seem to be down about something." The tom mewed, gathering another ball of moss.

He looked over at her, watching her with worried eyes. If something was wrong, perhaps he could help. That is, if it wasn't private. He respected her right to tell him to back off. Sometimes his protective instincts just got in everyone's way . The queens loved it, for some of the kits didn't have a father, and Brazenflame's stern but gentle nature towards them helped keep the little troublemakers in line. Others however, told him that he was too overbearing. Shaking his head at the memories, Brazenflame focused back on the task and waited patiently for the she-cat's reply.

Nightstorm| She-Cat| Warrior| GemClan| Central Cave/ Elder's Den| None

Leaving Brazenflame and Cherrypatch to the moss, Nightstorm headed towards the elder's den. While they could be grumpy and annoying, the she-cat enjoyed their stories of how the clan used to be back when they were young. Some of the old warriors had amazing adventures to tell her about, and she knew they enjoyed the company, despite their grumbles. Ducking into the den, she greeted the old cats with a kind smile.
"Hello everyone. I've just come to see if you need any more bedding." She meowed. An old, grizzled tom raised his head, his ears flicking constantly.

"Good morning Nightstorm, thanks for coming to check in on us. I think Fleatail could use more down and fresh moss. But I think the rest of us are alright." He replied, his voice low and raspy with age. Nightstorm smiled and nodded.
"Okay, I'll go get some for him. Thank you Twitchfoot." With that, she turned and made her way to the medicine cat's den.

"Hello? Anyone there?" She called. Moss could be found hanging all over the cave walls, but down was kept in the medicine cat's den. It helped staunch bleeding and it was a more comfortable bed for sick cats. She herself had used feathers before on the battlefield. It was good in a pinch. Cobwebs did a much better job, but when out and about killing a fat bird was much easier than traversing through dark spots in the forest.

Lavenderstar | Female | Gemclan | Central Cavern --> Beach | Mentions: Cherrypatch, Brazenflame, Nightstorm {Directly} Clanmates {Indirectly} Open for Interaction

Lavenderstar nodded with a kind smile, "Of course, It looks like they're leaving right now!" She said with nod to the deputy before hurrying to the entrance to the meet the leaving patrol.

"I'll be joining you" She said with a cheerful grin, signalling to the cats as they stepped outside the entrance. Lavenderstar made her way out of the cave, careful not trip and fall into the river that lapped and spilled over it's usual banks. "The river is overflowing, and the lake is filling up. That must be a good sign before leaf-bare." She commented, happy about the abundance but a little concerned. If the river rose too high the clan would have to leave the caves until it calmed.

The patrol followed the river down to the rocky beach, snow speckled the frozen ground and ice formed at the edge of the great lake. Lavenderstar paused and perked her ears, listening closely for any sign of prey that might be scurrying around the rocks. Her sleek silver pelt appeared to be thin but it was actually quite thick, the cats had grown long fur to defend the permanent coldness.

Lavenderstar flicked her tail in delight when she heard the pitter-patter of small paws on cold stone. Signalling where she was hunting to the to other cats who joined her, Lavenderstar positioned herself into a hunters crouch atop one of the many rocks thats speckled the beach, attempting to pinpoint the source of the sound. When she saw a small flash of brown against the grey land, Lavenderstar pounced, successfully trapping the rodent between her paws. With a quick nip to the back of the rodent's neck, she placed it down where the others had already caught a small bird.

Lavenderstar turned back to the rocks, looking for one more piece of prey before the patrol could proudly return with a small meal.

| Reedclaw |
Male • 46 Moons • Warrior
Location: Camp
Mentions: Nightstorm

Reedclaw prowled through the underbrush with a focused expression, pale green eyes glinting in determination as he set his sights on the unsuspecting squirrel nibbling away on an acorn just a few paces ahead of him. One swift, silent movement later and his teeth met in the back of the rodent's neck, ending it quickly. Satisfied with his catch, the long-furred brown tom carried it back to camp, planning to return for the prey he'd caught earlier and buried until he could retrieve it once this squirrel was safely deposited on the fresh-kill pile. Out of all the creatures he'd caught that morning the squirrel was the largest and fattest.

At last his paws touched stone and he dipped into the caverns GemClan proudly called home. Gingerly adding his kill to the growing pile of prey, he prepared to leave and fetch the rest of the morning's catch when he caught sight of Nightstorm heading to the medicine den. He could use some help collecting his prey, but she seemed busy with the elders and Reedclaw knew just as well as any cat the Clan's retired warriors must be cared for. He liked that about GemClan. His birth group had treated older cats as weaklings, either slaying them or banishing them from their lands once they could no longer work rather then treating them with the respect they deserved. A Clan setting was a nice change. He had no regrets joining these cats.

Nightstorm| She-cat| Warrior| GemClan| Reedclaw

No one answered the she-cat's call, the medicine cat's den was quiet and calm.
"Hm, Moonpelt must be out gathering herbs." She muttered, padding over to the rather large pile of down that sat untouched in an alcove.
"Geez, no wonder Fleatail has been complaining. I doubt those apprentices have looked in on the elders for days." Nightstorm growled. Grumbling to herself, the warrior picked out the softest feathers and gathered them onto a large leaf. After making sure it was secure, she headed out of the medicine cat den. As she was leaving, she caught sight of Reedclaw.
"Good morning Reedclaw!" She called, her voice muffled by her bundle, "Would you help me for a moment?"

There was no way she could carry both moss and the feathers, and the faster this got done, the less the elders would complain. Of course she didn't want to intrude upon his business, but the help would be appreciated. It looked like the other warrior had been hunting, by the looks of the squirrel on top of the fresh-kill pile. It was an impressive catch, especially this close to leaf-bare. The creature had probably been hoarding nuts and berries when Reedclaw caught it, but by the looks of it the squirrel had eaten most of its findings. Chuckling to herself at the thought of an obese squirrel stuffing its cheeks, Nightstorm waited for the tom's answer.

Moonpelt | She-cat | Medicine Cat | GemClan | Location: Outer Reaches of GemClan Territory | Mentions: None; Open for interaction

Moonpelt awoke with a startled mewl, the curled fur of her hackles and spine bristling as if laced with electricity. Her claws curled into the soft earth below her and her tail lashed despite herself. The she-cat felt ignited from her core to the tips of her whiskers by the heat of a dozen suns - she panted, desperately trying to banish the uncomfortable warmth. She squinted in a daze, adjusting her eyes to the piercing, dazzling light that danced off the mountain peaks. Confused, she consulted the sky above - nearly sunhigh.

Mousedung! How could I have fallen asleep out here? It was just a simple restocking trip! She mused, bewildered, raising herself so that she was sitting on her haunches. The heat had begun to fade and she could finally form coherent thoughts. I don't even remember drifting off. Did something knock me out? Disappointed, confused, and frustrated, she forced herself to go through the motions of herb gathering despite her feelings. Digging up some burdock here, plenty of dandelions for painkillers, plenty of catchweed and ragweed in a patch over there; they both grew so great in this climate...

Before long, Moonpelt had a good mouthful of what she'd been missing and began to make the long trek back to GemClan camp. However, the medicine cat just couldn't shake her bemusement over her sudden unconsciousness and subsequent heat spell. It was extraordinary and unnatural, and instinct screamed at her to find an answer for it. Anxiety churned in her belly as she remembered the visions she would often get lost in and a bad feeling told her that it was another one of those experiences. Her calloused pads ached on the tough terrain as she questioned her own sanity. This was going to be a long walk.

Lavenderstar | Female | Gemclan | Edge of Gemclan territory| Mentions: Moonpelt {Directly} Patrol {Indirectly}

After catching more prey, Lavenderstar returned to the camp. Dropping off her prey and thanking the patrol before setting off again. She wandered around the territory edges, checking the borders for anything suspicious.

When she came across the scent of Moonpelt, her medicine cat, she was surprised. Lavenderstar didn't remember seeing Moonpelt earlier in the morning and had suspected the medicine cat had gone out early. She followed the scent deeper into Gemclan territory, finally coming across Moonpelt as she struggled to get back to the camp, jaws filled with herbs.

Lavenderstar wrinkled her nose at the scent of the mixture and greeted the medicine cat. "Hello Moonpelt. Where were you? I didn't see you this morning but thought you had gone out early, you must be tired from walking this far so early." Lavenderstar said, slightly suspicious of the medicine cat's whereabouts, even though she had many herbs in her jaws.

(Sorry for short and bad post, just wanted to give this a bump^^)
