CRANEFLIGHT | She-cat | Warrior | Snowclan | Camp Clearing

How bothersome. Craneflight blinked open her eyes to watch a raucous crow flap it’s coal colorer wings rid of snowflakes and then continue it’s ferocious cawing. The avian was right to have jolted the cat from her daze, as her mind had begun to drift to a particularly handsome tom. Who, in actual fact was entirely unavailable to a young she like herself.

The sandy warrior had risen at first light. Just in time to catch the sun’s golden limbs trickle through camp and bathe the clearing in a lazy glow. By now, the warriors of Snowclan were neatly organised into patrols and the apprentices trotting after their mentor. Frankly, Craneflight preferred the green-leaf nights, when the activity would tone down a little. Those were the days when the she-cat wouldn’t have to worry about being jabbed with questions if she decided to be lazy for a day.

She found that mornings were her favourite time of the day, soaking up the first rays of sun and chatting idly with her clan-mates was a quiet affair. It calmed any nerves that prickled in her chest from the electric atmosphere in the warrior's den. Usually, the den would be filled with the day's gossip and news that Craneflight held zero interest in. The cat's green gaze hovers over a border patrol, just about to exit camp. Might as well put myself to use With a small swish of her tail, the amber she bounds over to join them.

FOGSTEP| Tom-cat | Medicine Cat | Snowclan | Medicine cat Den

Peeking his head out of a hollow was a pale furred tom, his pelt seemed to blend in perfectly among the frost-ridden ferns surrounding the entrance of the elder's den. Fogstep's features were equally as cold as the air today. First off, the elders were not being cooperative as per usual and to make things worse Kiteheart had miscarried in the middle of the night. The miserable medicine cat hadn't gotten a single wink of sleep, his fur was in need of a thorough groom and his legs were begging for a lie down. The white cat decided that he would share tongues later on in the evening. Momentarily pitying the cat who would be in charge of handling his untameable fleece.

The tom's ears lay flat against his head as he bent to pick up the sweet smelling dock leaf and drag himself back to his den. Ah! Peace and quiet at last! Fogstep let his tense muscles relax as he padded inside.

A few heartbeats of silence is followed by a shocked gasp as the medicine cat's eyes widen beyond belief. "--WHICH OF YOU NAUGHTY KITS LAID THEIR PAWS ON THE HONEY!?" He yowled, a twinge of annoyance entirely obvious in his voice. He winces as the three siblings trip over one another to rush back to safety of the nursery. A weary sigh manages to escape the tom's mouth as he begins to tidy up the place.

Soon, his paws were sticky with the golden liquid and a frown seemingly etched upon his face. He hoped no-cat had heard his small tantrum, it was times like these that Fogstep doubted his skills as a medicine cat. No matter how rewarding his duty was in the end, sometimes it would become too much for the poor tom.

"You furball.." he mutters to himself. "-Get yourself an apprentice already." Yellow-green eyes flutter to a close as Fogstep drapes his tail over his paws in meditation. How he adored silence. It was music to his ears.

Fallenfrost| Female| Warrior| SnowClan| Forest| None

Everything was still, only the gentle sound of the a winter breeze could be heard. It shook the bare tree limbs, causing a whisper to go through the forest. Snow had only just began to fall and it covered the ground in a measly blanket of patched white. The air was cold from the earlier rain, and a few dark clouds still remained, blocking the weak rays of the sun. Flashes of bright red could be seen moving in the bushes, and that was what the she-cat was focused on. Piercing amber eyes watched the small creatures with a predatory intensity. They were a rare delicacy, as they only appeared around leaf-bare and were very hard to catch. Despite their fat little bodies the birds were surprisingly quick. Slowly the she-cat crept forward, thanking StarClan that her pelt was white. It gave her an advantage when leaf-bare struck.

Crouching, Fallenfrost prepared to pounce, keeping her eye on the fattest bird of the bunch. Suddenly she shot forward, crashing into the foliage and sinking her claws into the prey. It squealed, but she quickly finished it off, cutting the sound short. Holding her head high, she padded away from the now destroyed bush, the bright crimson of the bird's feathers a stark contrast against her pure white fur. Fallenfrost was a stunning she-cat. Her fur was long and sleek, and lean muscles rippled beneath her pelt as she moved. Intense amber eyes studied their surroundings, and long, tufted ears twisted to listen to the sounds of prey in the underbrush.

The warrior had been hunting all morning, and since leaf-bare had only just begun, prey was still plentiful. She had caught a lot of prey, so dragging it all in by herself was impossible. Heading back to camp, she was sure to avoid GemClan borders. While the clans were currently at piece, the GemClan cats had always been weird to her. How did they live underground? It was too dark and enclosed for her. Shaking her head, Fallenfrost skirted around a large bush, and came face to face with a fox. Dropping her kill, she hissed, baring her fangs. Long claws unsheathed, preparing to plunge deep into flesh. The fox snarled, it's pointed muzzle curling around a salivating maw. It seemed more interested in her prey than in fighting her. It lunged for the bird, but Fallenfrost lashed out, tearing into its soft muzzle. A yelp echoed through the forest, and the fox seemed to back off a little in surprise. Blood welled from the wound, but it was only superficial. It had only been a warning. She could see fury cloud the predator's eyes, and she raised her hackles, hissing dangerously. There was no way she would win against a fox all by herself, but she also wasn't going to back down, not until she could no longer fight. Hopefully a patrol would come along soon...

Pinestar | Tom-cat | Leader | SnowClan | Leader's den entrance | Mentions;

Pinestar had been laying by the front of his den's entrance, his paws tucked neatly under his thick pelt; a burly frame hidden underneath. He had woke some time before dawn, and he had already thoroughly groomed himself after ensuring the patrols were settled. The snow had been easily cut through by the pawsteps of his clanmates leaving for patrols, creating a faint trail from the entrance to the warrior's den and fresh-kill pile.

His ears had twitched in irritation at the crow's incessant cawing, but he paid more attention to the camp, watching over everyone in silence. It seemed the crow had woken up Craneflight, for he saw her slide out of the warrior's den and tag along to join the border patrol.

Another movement in the camp caught his attention, and the yowl had shocked him enough to stare directly at the medicine cat den, where he saw small scraps of fur bounding out of it. The kits must've caused Fogstep trouble. He flicked his ear to dismiss it; Fogstep could settle it himself.

Uncurling from his comfortable spot by the snow, he made a long stretch, heading towards the fresh-kill; he hadn't eaten yet. The soft crush of the snow beneath his paws was especially satisfying, as if he was paving his own path in the vast sheet of white. He had craned his neck down to grab a mouse, which was thankfully still a little warm, but a yelp made him stop in his tracks.

It was quiet, and certainly sounded far, but he pricked his tufted ears in attempt to find out where the sound may have come from. At first, he was sure it was the yelp of a fox, but after several moments of silence, he had begun to doubt hearing the noise at all. His pelt prickled in worry, and he ate the mouse quickly and mindlessly, if only to give him strength.

Had anyone else heard the sound? His green eyes scanned the camp in a single glance, but the cats were all in their dens.

Pinestar contemplated whether or not to go seek out the sound; camp couldn't be left unattended so early in the day.

Flickerstrike||Female||Elder||Snowclan||Outside elders den||Mentions

It was warm in the elders den, although the she-cat was alone. With no wind or snow able to penetrate it, it was the ideal temperature. She was just beginning to drift back to sleep, when a familiar ache coursed through her leg. Flickerstrike winced and tried to stretch it out, but it had already become stiff. The elder had become accustomed to her injured legs needs, and knew that once it was out of the snow it was only a matter of time before it began to ache. It took a moment for her to raise herself to her paws, then ahe gave herself a shake to rid her dark fur of moss.The she-cat then made her way into the sunlight. The suns glare off of the snow was blinding, and her eyes narrowed instinctively. She limped a few away from her den, and settled down. Her leg still throbbed, so she covered it in snow. Flickerstrike found mornings peaceful, but a yowl from the medicine cats den caught her attention. Seems like the kits are already getting into trouble. It wasn't too long ago that she had been playing in the medicine cats den, looking for something gooey to get her paws into. She watched with interest, before turning looking above towards the sky.

Frostleap||Female||Queen||Snowclan||Mentions:

Frostleap had found it difficult to get a second of sleep since her den mates kits had been born. Without a doubt she cared for them as her own, but they could be extremely annoying. As soon as they raced out of the nursery, she knew something would go wrong, and a few minutes later when a cry came from Fogstep, she knew it was them. Their mother sighed then left to confront her kits. "Glad my kits won't be like that." She murmured, but after she spoke the words, her blue and green eyes widened. "But what if they are?" Her white paws began to knead at the ground, and her breathing quickened. If they are like that, everyone will think I'm a bad mother. How will I live with myself? It took her a moment to calm herself down, how could she know how her kits would act. The queen took a deep breath, and slowly padded outside for some air.

Honeydawn | Female | Warrior | Snowclan | Camp Clearing | Mentions: Pinestar, Frostleap {Directly) Fallenfrost {Indirectly}

Honeydawn woke with a smile when she heard kits tumbling around outside. She rose with a purr, grumbling slightly as she shook out her stiff limbs. Padding out of the den, she emerged into the misty light of the day. Honeydawn startled slightly the the cry of an animal echoed through the air, 'that doesn't sound far from the camp.' She thought with a slight frown.

When Honeydawn spotted Frostleap seated by the entrance of the nursery, she quickly paced over. Muttering a quick greeting, she took a seat beside the queen. "What do you think that is?" She asked in a worried tone. Shaking her head quickly, she dismissed the thought. "I'm going to go talk to Pinestar" She said with a slight frown, a cloud of worry hanging around her head like dense mist. Raising from her place beside the queen, Honeydawn approached Pinestar.

"Pinestar, do you think we should send a patrol to investigate that noise? It could possibly be some sort of large animal, like a fox or badger. We should be alert, since it sounds close to the camp." The distressed warrior muttered, dipping her head and nervously swishing her tail as she addressed the leader. Honeydawn had a gentle heart, she disliked to think that the sound could be hostile, but she had to consider all the options. If this animal was threatening her clanmates, Honeydawn would gladly risk her life to drive it away.

Pinestar | Tom-cat | Leader | SnowClan | Camp clearing | Mentions; Honeydawn (directly), Firefoot (indirectly)

Pinestar noted the other cats coming out of their dens, one by one, and the casualness of the camp soothed his worries, if only for a moment.

He had once again gone on red alert, grasping for any more sounds that might have been concerning, or gave a clue to where it came from, and what it was.

Watching Honeydawn approach him, she didn't seem happy. He listened intently, concluding, "You heard it, too," he seemed to say that more to himself, "I'll send a patrol, Honeydawn." The tom reassured her, adding, "Would you like to go with me? I believe Firefoot is still in camp." It wasn't his intention to take one of the gentler warriors, but it seemed that was all he had available right now. He flexed his claws, ready to tear through an enemy.

Fallenfrost| She-cat| Warrior| Snowclan| Forest (Close to camp)| None

White fur tangled with red as the she-cat dug her claws into the fox's neck and back. Her fangs were embedded in its flesh, tearing and ripping. The creature's howls soon became louder, echoing through the trees. It wasn't long however, before the fox got her loose from its back, and lunged at her throat. Growling deep in her chest, Fallenfrost dodged the attack and knocked the legs from underneath it. While it was still struggling to get up, she raked her claws across its eyes, blinding it. Yowling, it grabbed her paw in its mouth as she passed, causing her to fall as well.

Fallenfrost felt the breath go out of her lungs as a heavy weight put pressure on her chest. The fox was trying to suffocate her. Its sight was impaired by blood, but apparently it could still see a little bit, because it was glaring right at her. Baring her fangs in defiance, the warrior kicked at it with her back legs, scratching as hard as she could. If this kept up, she would be maggot food by morning.

Honeydawn | Female | Warrior | Snowclan | Camp Clearing --> Forest | Mentions: Pinestar, Fallenfrost {Directly}

When Honeydawn heard the definite screeches of a battle, she perked her ears and listened intently. "That's a fox, and one of our warriors as well. We need to hurry" Honeydawn mewed in a desperate tone, attempting to remain calm.

Without a glance back, Honeydawn raced out of the camp. Her long tail streamed behind her as she made her way over the difficult ledges, jumping where she knew to jump and taking zigzag routes across the mountain until she finally reached the large ledge where one of the multiple small forests grew.

As the sounds of the battle grew louder, Honeydawn noticed disturbed patches of grass and bloodsplattters here and there. She remembered watching Fallenfrost leave the camp to hunt earlier and winced when the sounds when silent except for the snarls of the fox. As she turned around a corner, Honeydawn leaped at the enemy without fear.

The force of the blow knocked the predator off of Fallenfrost, leaving to face Honeydawn with fierce and bleeding eyes. Blood dripped from multiple scratches on it's face, neck, and body and she was slightly impressed with the amount of damage Fallenfrost had done, though the fox didn't seem eager to leave. Instead it wanted to stay, and fight to the death over some fresh kill. "Go hide, when I've dealt with this, Pinestar and I will help you back to camp." Fallenfrost was injured enough, she didn't need to leap back into the battle before Moonpelt could look at her.

Honeydawn continued to aim blows at the fox, batting out it's face and pelt with outstretched claws. 'I hope Pinestar gets here soon' Honeydawn thought as she felt her muscles begin to ache from the stress of fighting a larger animal, even though it was fatigued. She had left the camp behind and was quite fast, her agile paws skimmed over the ground where even the senior warriors and to take their time.

| Kestrelpaw |
Female • 10 Moons • Warrior Apprentice
Location: Camp
Mentions: None [Open]

A long yawn parted Kestrelpaw’s jaws as the fluffy she-cat glanced around the apprentice’s den blearily, mind a muddled mess. She had spent the previous night practicing battle moves and barely gotten a wink of sleep. Perhaps not her brightest idea. 'Dedication is important, but you aren't at your best without rest,' she scolded herself. As other cats began filing out of the den she hastily rolled onto his paws, not bothering to pick off the scraps of moss and leaf still sticking to her thick coat as she rushed to follow them. StarClan help her if she’d missed the dawn patrol! She had a reputation to uphold and being a late riser wasn’t something she wanted to be known for.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆

| Redbird |
Male • 24 Moons • Warrior
Location: Camp
Mentions: Fogstep

Redbird paused in his grooming, tufted ears flicking as the sound of a scandalized yowl reached them. The ginger tom had risen long before the sun’s rays began attempting to peek through the thick mist surrounding camp, his reasoning little more than wanting extra time to prepare himself for the day ahead. His tongue swiped over the springy curls of his pelt one last time before he ceased and rose to his paws, leaving the warrior's den behind. Slipping out through the entrance, he halted momentarily to give his legs a good stretch, chasing the stiffness from his limbs. His fur wasn't as thick as some of his Clanmates and allowed the cold to seep down into his bones more easily. He rarely complained about it and made do best he could, but in truth Redbird was somewhat concerned one day he'd be so rigid he wouldn't be able to get out of his nest.

The sound of retreating pawsteps drew Redbird's gaze to the medicine den where he witnessed three kits fleeing back to the nursery with a mischievous glint in their eyes. A soft snicker escaped him before the curly-coated warrior padded over to the medicine den, poking his head inside. Fogstep's body held a meditative posture, eyes closed and seemingly at peace with himself. Redbird crept closer to the other tom on silent paws, scanning the den for whatever trouble those kits might have gotten into. As SnowClan's sole medicine cat Fogstep seemed vastly overworked. Redbird had no interest in taking this path for himself, but he often offered his assistance to the pale-furred cat when not out on hunting or patrol duties. As such he sat back on his haunches and patiently waited for Fogstep to notice him. Though Redbird's patience never lasted long and it was likely he would speak up if allowed to grow bored.

{{Not the best intros, sorry! I'm in a hurry, but I really wanted to get these out.}}

CRANEFLIGHT | She-cat | Warrior | Snowclan | Snowy Forest | Kestrelpaw, Honeydawn, Fallenfrost

The sound of hurried paw-steps compelled Craneflight to peer behind her shoulder. Her features split into a look of amusement as the frantic apprentice weaved her way toward the departing patrol. "Oh dear! Kestrelpaw, you're not nearly as early as you always are." The warrior slowed to a trot so that she could catch up. Craneflight parted her maw to say something else but sounds of a scuffle interrupted her train of thought.

Quiet noises carried through the forest; near constant but never quite from the same direction. With the sounds overlapping it was near impossible to tell exactly what it was, but perhaps a closer look would reveal that… Her heartbeat sped up as the sandy warrior spotted a tuft of russet fur clinging to a branch. It smelled strongly of fox.

With a quick gesture her tail she motioned for their small border patrol to follow, Craneflight lead the way, loping through the undergrowth at top speed. Worry reached the edges of her forehead as they furrowed in unease. They finally broke free of the forest's canopy, and in the clearing was Honeydawn and Fallenfrost battling the ferocious looking beast. Craneflight stepped back, trembling slightly at the sight of blood dappling the frosted ground. She pressed her pelt close to Kestrelpaw in a defensive stance as the other warriors yowled and launched themselves into the fray.

The fox was looking battered and so were her clan-mates. If they fled now they might still have a chance, the fox would be too tired to pursue and Craneflight thought it was best that none of them acquired any serious injuries. The she-cat wavered, unsure of whether to step in. Her gaze dashed from one cat to the other before she trembled and backed away in horror.

FOGSTEP| Tom-cat | Medicine Cat | Snowclan | Medicine cat Den | Redbird

As soon as Redbird's scent flooded the den, the medicine cat's eyes fluttered open and he turned his gaze upon the larger warrior. Fogstep scrambled to his paws, he was adamant on not letting his clan-mates see him in a vulnerable state, they had to hold trust in him after all. The white tom fluffed out his fur before padding over to Redbird, slightly grumpy from having his quiet interrupted. "You haven't been getting into any mouse-brained arguments again have you?" His tone was flat, already accustomed to the russet warrior's brash nature that has lead him to pop in many times already.

Even at first glance, the white tom obviously looked haggard. His eyes almost always drooped with tiredness and he seemed clumsier than he usually was, which his clan-mates would hardly deem possible. Biting back a yawn Fogstep reaches his paw to his ear to relieve it of an annoying itch. He'd been too busy tending to others that he'd neglected his own welfare. "-Do you mind.." He meowed with a twitch of his tail. "You're blocking all the sunlight coming from the entrance, stand here." The tom motioned with his paw, unable to keep the sharp tone away from his voice any longer.

Fallenfrost| She-cat| Warrior| SnowClan| Honeydawn, Craneflight, Kestrelpaw

It had gotten colder as the battle wore on, or maybe that was just what near death felt like. As the breath in her lungs grew shorter, Fallenfrost let out a vicious snarl, defying death. Suddenly, the weight was gone, and the she-cat scrambled to her feet, her breathing heavy. Relief flooded through her as she caught sight of Honeydawn, glad that she had been close enough to camp for them to hear her.
"No, it's mostly the fox's blood, I'm fine." She hissed, pinning her ears. Fallenfrost took a defensive stance next to the other warrior, intent on helping in the fight. After all, she had started it, and she was going to finish it. Her boldness often got her into trouble, and this was one of those times. If Honeydawn hadn't come to her rescue, she doubted StarClan would've let her go. But now wasn't the time to focus on such thoughts, she needed to pay attention and help.

A noise reached her ears, the sound of soft pawsteps on snow. Looking back, she caught sight of Craneflight and Kestrelpaw. They looked terrified, but the others in the patrol had already joined in the fight.
"Get Kestrelpaw back to camp! She doesn't have enough warrior training for this!" Fallenfrost called, gesturing with her tail for the other she-cat to take the apprentice away from the danger. There was no way she was going to put such a young cat in jeopardy. Turning back to the battle, Fallenfrost let out a cry and lunged, slamming her entire body weight into the enemy. The fox staggered, tired and caught off guard. Yelping in pain and fear, it struggled to escape the onslaught of claws and teeth. Finally, it escaped, running with its tail between its legs. Some of the patrol chased after it, making sure that it veered out of SnowClan territory. Fallenfrost sighed, the adrenaline wearing off. The cuts on her body stung, and her paw ached from where the fox had bitten her.
"I'm going back to camp. And I'm taking this with me." She huffed, picking up the blood red bird. It was the reason for all of this, and there was no way she was leaving it behind. Her earlier prey forgotten, the battered she-cat limped over to Honeydawn.
"Thanks for coming to help me." Fallenfrost mewed, giving her a grateful smile.

CRANEFLIGHT | She-cat | Warrior | Snowclan | Snowy Forest | Kestrelpaw, Honeydawn, Fallenfrost, Redbird

"Get Kestrelpaw back to camp! She doesn't have enough warrior training for this!" Craneflight flinched as Fallenfrost's yowl cut through her dazed state.

Never mind Kestrelpaw! When that apprentice received her warrior name there was no doubt in any cat's mind that she would excel in her duties. Craneflight on the other paw, never had the urge to engage in fight, the exhilaration was not something the soft-hearted she sought after. Perhaps it was exciting for the intrepid Fallenfrost and as Craneflight's gaze followed the bleeding white she-cat, a twinge of jealousy echoed inside of her. Stepping forward slightly the warrior meows to Fallenfrost and Honeydawn, both she-cats had bore the brunt of the attack and they needed quick attending to.

"I-I'll call for Fogstep to come and help.." She pauses for a heartbeat and swallows hard. "I think you might scare the kits if you go in to camp l-looking like that..." Her eyes linger on the open wounds before she flattens her ear and droop her head in shame.

Some warrior you are.. The tanned cat thought bitterly as she steered the apprentice away from the distressing scene.

Craneflight felt bile rising in the back of her throat at the reminder of the fox's jaws dripping with red liquid and it's nasty claws tearing away with clumps of fur. She shook her head in an attempt to forget and instead focused on heading back to camp with Kestrelpaw. They raced quietly alongside each other until the familiar scent of Snowclan filled the air. Craneflight felt like her legs might collapse as she dashed across the camp and inside the medicine den. She yelped and fortunately halted just in time to avoid a head-on collision with the oblivious Redbird.

"Fogstep, there was a fox near the south of camp. They need help." She gasps, sides heaving with exertion.

Honeydawn | Female | Warrior | Snowclan | Forest --> Camp | Mentions: Fallenfrost, Craneflight, Kestrelpaw {Directly}

Honeydawn watched the fox run away, a relieved look on her bloodstained face as she sat, gasping at the shock of it all. Honeydawn had a few scratches on her side, a particularly nasty one sliced across her hind leg. Her ear was torn and blood dripped into her amber eyes, causing her to shut them for a few moments. Cuts on her paws and legs stung, mostly from the briars she had gotten tangled in on the short journey to the forest.

When Craneflight and Kestrelpaw arrived, Honeydawn stood on weak and shaky legs. "Kestrelpaw, Would you mind helping me back to camp?" She was fairly certain that she would be able to make it back to camp, but Honeydawn wanted Kestrelpaw to aid her just in case.

She watched Craneflight dart off, and Fallenfrost calmly pick up the prey. Honeydawn was sore and shaking, her tail shivered and limbs felt numb. With Kestrelpaw at her side, Honeydawn picked up her paws, beginning the long and miserable journey her usual self would have been able to make in an instant.

(Sorry if this is confusing, writers block ^^)
