Welcome to Lioden!
Updated: 3/20/2020
Whether you are a new player joining Lioden, or an experienced player who needs a refresher, I hope you find the answers to any questions you may have here!
I have gathered lots of FAQ and questions that are quite common to be added to this post. Anything that leaves you confused or kindles another question, feel free to post a reply on here.

Have a question we didn't cover? Ask us!

How do I stat-replace my King?
By going to your main territory (den), you can either click on your King's profile picture or his name. Near the bottom of the page is a box that says, "Retiring Your King". Click that- it will bring you to the main page for retiring your current king.
If you previously used your heir's appearance, then your desired king looks are already completed. To stat replace, you must choose the chosen lion (preferably with more stats) and make sure it is the appearance of your current main male. Once you agree to any forced conditions, your newly statted king will have its experience, karma, impression, and any other development your previous King had, set back to zero.
------> Mutated Stat Replacers. If you have a “looks” heir already kinged with a mutation, and king a stat replacer without a mutation, the mutation will be wiped. If you are stat and mutation replacing, make sure that the stat heir has the mutation!

How do I increase my cub's survival rate?
There are a couple ways to increase the survival rate!
------> Handing them over to a broodmother! Any lioness that isn't hunting can be one. They can handle up to 5 cubs, unless they are Nurturing. Nurturing lionesses can handle up to 6 cubs.
------> Interacting with them! Playing will usually grant 7-9% Survival.
------> Giving them amusement items/toys to play with.
------> In Monkey business (Located in Explore, near the left middle) you can find a Hornbill Majordomo (Under "Bundles and Specialty") which will bring your cub back to 100% survival chance. It may be 200 , but depending on the cub, it may be worth it!

How do I set/change my avatar/icon/profile picture?
Located in your den near the bottom will be a panel that says, "Edit Your Details". After expanding that box, you will find an option that says “Avatar URL”- beside it is a box to place a custom tag (150x150). You can find one on Google (if the owner of the image allows it) to use, make your own, or find one to your liking! If you do not want to find a tag, Shad makes new ones constantly! You can find them right next to that box, the link called "Premade Tags". After that, you should be all set!
------> Premade Tags

How does karma work?
This game is very interactive when it comes to your king and exploring. In explore, you will find encounters that give you a "good" or "evil" karma. You will not be able to see accumulated karma unless you buy the feature of seeing karma gains and losses. You can find the place to do that in Explore, in the top right corner where "Quests and Snakes'' are located. The second snake is all about karma. If you buy the feature of seeing gains and losses, it will reveal when you are interacting in explore. You must visit the snake though to see how much karma you have total, it is not revealed unless you give the snake 50 , in which she will tell you one time how much karma you have.
------> There is also one other way to receive karma. You can kill your pride lions, or send them to the nature reserve. Chasing them away does not affect karma.
------> If you wish to speed up the karma process, you can purchase vulture eggs (found in the trade center, branch sales, January event-> Carrion shop).

My lioness ran away. Can I get her back?
It depends on how long she has been gone! There is a panel in your den under "sparring" that tells you which/how many lionesses are gone, and how many days you have left to be able to reclaim them. It could be from lioness overflow- when your lioness became of age there wasn't enough room for her, so she had to leave. It could also be from a severe loss of mood or starvation. Thankfully, neither of those will kill your lioness. Lionesses will only die if you kill them, retire them after 14 years of age, or they reach 15+ years old, in which they could die at any time between 15 and 16.
------> The fee for reclaiming a lioness is 200 . The same fee applies to sub males. Sub males will leave from the same circumstances, or if there are not enough male slots for him to dwell in your pride.
------> If your lioness does run away, you have 7 real life days to claim her back before she is gone forever. NOT 7 rollover days.

Where can I expand/purchase more territory?
It will always be located on your den page, at the very top, located right beside your king's stats. Beside it is almost all other information on expanding your pride and how big your pride is.
This is how getting more territory works:
------> 2-20 is by paying in / or attacking another King
------> 21-40 is Attacking other Kings for territory
------> 41+ is paying in only

How do I put decor on a lion?
If you already have decors, go to your hoard. Look through your items until you have found the desired decor. Click on it- it will bring up a little menu showing how many uses it has left, and which lion you'd like to put it on. Right below the box, once you've chosen the lion, you can equip the decor. On the lion’s page, you can find all equipped decors, and the order you want to put them in. Once you are on the last use of the decor, it will disappear when the decor is removed from the lion.
------> There is now a new feature where you can view your lion without any of the decors on while the decors are still equipped.
------> You can also use the new fancy tool, “the Equipper” located here: Equipper tool to try on decors before wasting a use to equip/unequip ones you end up not liking on your lion.

What ages will my King, sub males, and lionesses die?
Kings must/will retire by age 16. You can force early retirement for a young king, the fee is 25GB (10GB for forced retirement, 15 for retiring before the king cooldown). Off cooldown, forced retirement is 10 GB. You may let your king die naturally if you desire.
------> Sub males can live a long happy life until age 15. Between 15-16, the sub will randomly die from old age.
------> Lionesses will live and breed peacefully until 14. At 14 years and 1 month, she can no longer be bred, and you can choose to retire her into your dynasty. If not, she will die between the same years as a sub male.

What do the icons represent next to my lionesses, in my den?
Here are what the icons represent:
------> This is the "In Heat" symbol. It means that your lioness is ready to be bred to your king, or a king of your choosing.
------> This is the first day of a lionesses pregnancy, as the heart is lightly shaded. She has 3 remaining days left until she gives birth.
------> This is the second day of a lionesses pregnancy, the heart is visibly darker. She has 2 remaining days left until she gives birth.
------> This is the third day of a lionesses pregnancy, the heart is significantly darker. She has 1 remaining day left until she gives birth.
------> You haven't nested your lioness yet! In order to nest her, go to her page, where there will be a notification that brings you to the nesting page. Here you need 6 uses of material to make the nest, and she will safely give birth to her cubs! If you do not nest her, she has a common chance of losing the litter. :(
------> This means that your newborn cub isn't being protected by a broodmother. It also means that every day it isn't protected, its survival chance will lower. From 0 months to 11 months does a cub have a survival chance.
------> Your lioness is ready to level up! You can find her EXP bar on her lion page, located right above her breeding information.
------> Once your lioness has been bred and had her cubs, this symbol will appear. There is a required 20 real life day cooldown until your lioness can be bred again. You can find out how many days are left at the top of your lionesses page!
------> Be careful! Your cub is in danger of dying. If you value the cub, make sure you amuse it, hand it to a broodmother, or buy a Hornbill Majordomo from Monkey Business to restore the cub's survival chance back to 100%.
------> Your lion is hungry! Better go feed them!
------> The lioness with this symbol next to her is a broodmother! She can handle up to 5 cubs to be protected, and Nurturing lionesses can have up to 6 cubs. When a *(Star) is next to the bottle, it means your broodmother isn't at her maximum amount of cubs she can have. Once that * disappears, then she cannot protect any more cubs.
------> This lock means that your lion/ess is "Locked". You cannot abandon, kill, or send them away without removing it.
------>Your lion/ess is immortal! It can be traded(as of 2017 can now be traded!), will not age, and will never go hungry. You can find the amount of frozen slots you have on your den page, right below the "Male Slots" box next to your King's profile picture.
You can either buy a Turritopsis Jellyfish from the Oasis to freeze an adolescent or adult. To freeze a cub, you need a Jellyfish. You can find one by playing at the slot machine, but it's a rare item!
------> If this shows up when your lioness is in heat, then she is infertile! She cannot get pregnant in heat unless you feed her a chasteberry.
------> If you have the settings enabled on your lioness’s page, then she is up for reverse breeding! While this is active, other players can submit a request to her. When another user gets a breed from that lioness, it will use their king as the stud, and the cubs born from the breeding will go to the buyer’s territory once the cubs are weaned (5 real life days).

Brooooodmothers?
So here's how broodmothers work:
------> 1-10 Territory you will have 1 broodmother.
------> 11-20 would be 2 broodmothers.
------> 21-30 would be 3 broodmothers.
------> 31-40 would be 4 broodmothers, and so on.
------> Broodmothers are the lionesses that protect your cubs, keeping their survival rate at 100%. :)

Why do some players have different coloured paws next to their name?
When a player has a paw next to their name, it indicates that they are a staff member here on Lioden!
Yellow paw: Admins. They run the game!
Green paw: Moderators. Their job is to help moderate the chats, break up hostilities, and enforce the rules. For more information, visit here.
Additional paws/badges:
Owls: These are community contributors. They are very helpful in the Chatbox and the Game Help subforum, and have earned this as a token of appreciation from Lioden staff.
Wiki Badge: These players have helped contribute to the rebuilding of our new Wiki. You can find the brand new site here, and there's plenty of info to start you out as a new player, or as a returning player that needs a bit of guidance after coming back!
Alpha Tester: These players have been granted a fashionable sticker for being on the site during it's Alpha phase. :)

Where do I find my Title for my King, and how do I change it?
To find out where your title is, visit Explore. “Quests and Snakes” will be in the right top corner. The second snake, Murphy's wife, is all about titles and karma. You can check how much karma you have for just a 50 fee. There will be a scroll box below the current name of your title. It will show you all of the karma titles you have unlocked so far, and ones that you have purchased from events. You can lock a karma title for 100 , but you can change it later if you desire. You can find the karma tiers here for an accurate representation.

How can I make my lion/cub Immortal?
Turritposis Jellyfish- 5 in the Oasis. This item will make any lion over 1 year old immortal. After this, you have 1 hour to reverse it if you change your mind. In order to freeze a lioness, you must first buy a frozen slot though! The first is free- then 5 for two and so on.
Jellyfish- This item freezes a cub from 0 to 11 months old. It is very commonly used to freeze mutations and lethals! This item is more rare, and can only be found in the slot mahcine game- You can most likely buy it from other players!
For more info, visit the Wiki!

If I abandon a cub, does their fertility change?
No, their fertility stays the same even after going through the tree and after they arrive at their new home.

Freezing a lioness makes them Immortal. They cannot be bred, and will never age or be hungry/moody! Most recently as well, they can be transferred and traded. :)

A Turritopsis Jellyfish can be found in Oasis, and can be applied to the lioness for 5GB. You need to buy a Frozen slot to freeze one though, which you can find on your den page. :)

With cub training, you have a chance of getting the % up each day from 5 months to 11 months. :) You can't get any more experience than the cub training during cub years, but once they turn into an adol you can climb the rest of the way to 100% There's an 80% chance for your cub to succeed during each session!

I have a question about genetic.
Every lion has a base colour, gradient, etc. and markings. Marking are in slots - and i.e., you can have lion with markings in slots: 1,2 and 8, or 1, 10 and in hidden slots, also markings have % next to them. What does it all mean? which markings are visible? Are all marking in all slots always visible? or it means that lion has genes with all this markings and can produce cubs with such a markings?
I'm tottaly lost, probably it's explaind somewhere, but I did'nt found it. Be patient, I'm new player ;)

Hey Fund!

Each lion now can have up to 20 markings. Markings 1 to 10 are unlocked and visible to see, but slots 11-20 require GB to unveil them. 11 to 20 will not show unless their markings are "unlocked", so to say. :) You can also Scry the hidden markings you may have on a lion, to see if their marking is worth purchasing to reveal.

All marks have a chance at passing from parent to cub, but it's harder to get all of the markings from the parent, you only have a chance. :)

No worries, welcome and ask all the questions you want! <3

Thanks for your answer :)
If I understand it correct, marking in slots 1-10 are visible on lion, but not every marking can be pass on cubs.
I'm stuck in percentage - if my lion have cocoa lace (49%) and white tip toe (90%) it means that is more possible to pass white tip toe on cubs than cocoa lace? cocoa lace is in slot 3 and tip toe in slot 10.

Correct, 1 to 10 are visible :)
The markings you get depend on chance! As far as I know, all markings have the same pass rate- just Mottled rosette can only pass down from a parent with that mark.

Actually, the opacity just gives your lion a better chance at a higher opacity or lower opacity, depending on the mark.

Hey Laelia!

To make am image appear on this site, use this code: <*img src="Image URL here"*> without the *'s!

To get the URL for an image, go to a hosting site- Like Imgur or Tinypic, and upload it. :)

Hope this helps!
