Mutations are one of the most popular things on Lioden and makes it stand out from other sites like this, but I think disabilities would be something fun to add on some more challenge!

Warning, some images may be disturbing.

Physical disabilities such as the following;
"Broken" tail (half limp or kinked) : kinked

A broken spine and/or legs (lower) : spinal
(hind legs would be dragged if spinal)

A twisted hind leg / fore leg : leg

Missing / torn off ears : ears

I don't expect them to be added straight away if the ideas are liked, more of a slowly introduced thing?

How you'd get them :
rare random "encounters" as cubs will give your lion the disability.
For example, like the cub accident warning would have a very low chance of producing a disabled cub;

This is one of the current encounters,

In trying to investigate that dark, shadowy area, 105 Diabolical 6m accidentally ran into migrating buffalo! It was found by a lioness during a hunting run and brought back bruised, bloodied, but otherwise alive to your den.

But in a rare case, you'd be notified that your cub was either found or dragged itself back with said injuries but now with one of the listed disabilities; in this case probably a broken leg!

I don't think they should be as rare as mutations, but something that can be collected and sold like them! (Depending on the disability, the lioness/lion may not be able to patrol or hunt or be kinged) and they won't pass like mutations, so it'd be *pure* chance that you get them! No cotton root bark for breaking your sons legs!

If you don't support, explain why please! :)

EDIT: Due to me not considering the factor of expensive heirs, some good ideas to prevent / remove the disabilities would be;
1. A 1-2 GB item from oasis that removes the disability
2. When 100% protected or protected by a broodmother there is no chance of getting this disability, and when over 60% trained as an adolescent

EDIT2: Removed adolescents as it didn't make much sense

@kalani
1. Nursing cubs won't be able to recieve the injuries
2. No, but it would be cool if a Shaman in the november event could give you a "butter" or other item that heals the disability
3. Yes
4. Can you explain better? I don't understand this sorry :'3
5. Possibly? But I imagine it'd be more like mutations that you could only get one

@desertcactus Thank you!! I am as well, it just slips my mind sometimes

Awww! I think this is so cute to be honest. It would probably lower their life span though, just sayin. Maybe like one eye lost (didnt wanna be gruesome) or blinded by something? I dunno, I just really like that idea

A broken spine would likely become fatal for wild animals. My queen-to-be did fall out of a tree in training fails yesterday. If the game had a way for her to be seriously injured, while being cool, i would not have been terribly happy with it. like the item that removes lethal mutation, the items to heal injuries should also be SB.

Love the idea! Im going to add some ideas-

-Fully grown lionesses have a tiny chance of getting one whilst hunting
-Same as above for submales, But with patrolling.
-Item for removing disability will be called "Holy water" Or "Spring Water" And description will be "It is said that when an injured cub drinks this, Their disabilities heal.". Flavor text will be "Your wounded cub drinks the water. You watch the cub for the rest of the day as it's wound heals"
-Some non-lethal disabilities can be kinged
-Overlay muties (Piebald, Patches, Achromia, Melanism) Have a chance to get these
-Item to give your cub a disabilty, Such as, Say "Killer hyena"

No support, sorry.
There isn't a reason for disabilities to come in, we have mutations to cause disabilities.
And disabled lions can easily die in the wild, like Junior the paralyzed cub who couldn't even grow up because he couldn't eat enough food from all the pain and his disability kept him cub size while his brothers were adol sized.
I'd rather not have a cub suddenly get injured and be unable to remove the disability since not everyone gets GB often (I get it once a year).
Xylax stated (though as a mutation): "Earless - aside from maybe accepting this as a lethal, the infections caused by parasites getting in would kill such lion"
Getting an ear torn off would cause the same, and so would broken spines without proper care.

This could also be good during Lionesses hunting. They return early with no prey and give a bloody lioness. She has a chance to be disabled and id she does , she can become a brood mother

Support! This would be really cool. I think fractures and dislocations would be awesome, too. We should have fractured teeth in Primals and Overgrown Teeth.

I would also like to see more scars: Bite Wounds, Abrasions, Skin Infection, Lacerations, Degloving, etc.

Bite wounds are very common in lions!

I support! Ik that they dont support bc of kinging and etc, so try SB? It would be very challenging and fun to me! Plus, yalls dont want ya heir to be broke? Protect em like most mothers do to cubs :) reality.

I would love to some collection of them!

Edit: If yalls dont support bc "Too much art"
They choose to create this game, they got lots of money from it. They decide which go on or out. So if you dont support because it would be too much work. You're not one deciding,, so are not we.

They decide themselves.

@Karmo So do same for lethals, they die in their cub age.

So what's different?

But lethals are born that way, that's the point of them. They were meant to die early unless you freeze them. But not everyone breeds for lethals.
Disabilities are gained, and having a cub or lion that I wanted badly suddenly become useless is really upsetting. We already have mutations that cause disabilities at birth, and that is expected. Like Eyeless aren't allowed to be kinged or allowed to hunt.
And there's lots of people already upset at the scars that are forced onto your lioness when she gets one during hunting. Something that isn't even harmful to the lion itself was already annoying.

Well, its reality either way.
plus it wont become useless forever, by buying heal thing or something which is same thing as the lions leaving due to low mood and hunger.

But lethals and disabilities are almost same thing though. They both are unable to be kinged or anything so.. If you breed and got a lethal or leopon, but its really beautiful and want to be kinged. But disabilities can be treated, that easy I'm pretty sure.

Disabilities are gained, lethals are born. Lethals are supposed to die, unless frozen, that's the point of them.
Disabilities are lethal in the wild. A broken spine will cause the lion to not even grow, and the pain from it will cause it to starve, as shown with Junior. A broken leg, tail, or torn ear will get infected easily, which causes the lion to leave the pride because they don't want to spread illness to their pridemates.
If we wanted something that's lethal, then they'll make more lethal mutations.
Xy has stated that earless lions will be lethal, from infection.
Xy also mentioned that torn off ears are rejected due to them making the background visible, and to do that he would have to edit the bases and markings just to display it

Gained and born? Whats different either way?

Thats why there is stuff that heals disabilities. Gained one? Buy stuff and heal it. If not, i guess freeze them bc they looks adorable helpless. I dont get why you think they're different.

Don't bring "Too much work for artists" to me. It's not your decision nor mine. They decide. So its useless trying to bring it up in support posts

Like I've said before. Not everyone has the SB or GB to get something that will heal or freeze them. And it's not their fault.
And I quoted Xy with the torn ears.
I didn't even say "too much work for the artists" anywhere there. Like, no where at all.

"Xy also mentioned that torn off ears are rejected due to them making the background visible, and to do that he would have to edit the bases and markings just to display it"

So? It don't matter if not everyone have SB or not. Some players here lost their precious lioness due to hunger and no SB. You can't do anything.
