Heres my take on what I think goes on in this enclave.

I have two theories:

Theory one:

You know how the cub is basically "Erased" From the game?
What I think happens is they kill the cubs. But why do they only accept one specific marking at a time?
Maybe the enclave is racist. They are not. What I think is happening is they skin the cubs before death. Yes. I think that the gorilla enclave is like a black market. After your cub is "Erased" Its pelt is sold for beetles. But why a specific trait? I think orders are placed where the customer will ask for a certain marking on the pelt. It all makes sense now. But why under a year old? Its because cubs are more gullible then adolescents. They don't know whats coming.

And the less gruesome theory 2:

The gorilla enclave is a sanctuary for unwanted cubs. All the cubs are well fed, trained, and nurtured. They will release the cubs into the wild after a year to either start their own pride (Male) Or Claimed by a handsome king to be part of a pride (Females). The problem with this one though as it does not explain the fact that the quests require a certain marking or color.

Anyways, Hope you have fun on lioden :)

Pelt one makes sense. They are selling markings as well, possibly made from the cub fur?

Maybe they want specific markings/colors/skins on the coats just because of their own tastes? Maybe they want a striped cub or a patched one or something.

Actually, the black market one doesn't make any sense. Why does the enclave request male or female cubs? Why do they need stats? I think it's a foster home and the gorillas give the cubs to prides. Our lions give away these cubs, and the cubs are too young to be independent unlike adolescents and adults. So where do they go? Enclave. It's different from the tree because specific cubs are sought after to be given to "prides" who are looking for, let's say, a female cub with chocolate cowl. so yeah lol the enclave really is a sanctuary not a black market

So..... Everything here has kind of mindblown me.... But everything seems a bit off.

The pelt worked once because I remember a time when they didn't necessarily ask for a precise stat. Now, though, the stat breaks it because a stat really shouldn't make the pelt different... (also doesn't work cuz you never see a gorilla wearing anything) As for a sacrifice, how many cubs would they get per day? Too many to sacrifice them all, that's for sure. Them keeping them as a pet doens't work too much for the same reason.... Gorillas live long and have few children, they are not many, so it does smell like a cover up. Also, if that was the case, it would be nice to have some requests for the personality of the cub at least once in a while.

We are then left with two options: army and eating. The army, if that was the case, it would be weird not to notice at some scale, and would make for a nice event..... that we never had and doesn't feel like one day there will be. And the eating..... We are gonna leave the eating for now (u'll see why)

So, what do we have, on the other hand? We have gorillas that request cubs daily from each pride with specific characteristic that envolve sex, age, stats and looks and are lying about the reason they want them (considering it is rather too unrealistic)... AND, something was placed right of the end of the enclave instructions: the gorilla says not to worry, they would make sure the cubs would be rased to be animalistic. Does that ring a bell yet? I think they are raised to be gladiators.

Not only is it canon on lioden that gladiator exists, it would make sense for what is asked. They want a cub that is enough so they can train them for the fights and indoctrinate them, they want the stats for them to be strong and in dog fight and cock fights you always see a preference to exhibit pretty animals. Asking for females could be to breed the winners or there could be a secret league for lionesses (who knows). About the excess of cubs? Well, they let the cubs fight to death and only the stronger gets to represent the gorillas or something... (hense where the lion meat could come from: the ones who lost). They could also eat these ones and what is in the shop is only the leftovers....

.... One last thing. They give monkey teeth as a currency. Why would they have that many monkey teeth lying around? Mammals don't usually shed them more than 2 times (for good reasons I'm not gonna explain here) and monkeys don't have many more teeth than us.... And that teeth they are one that doesn't happen much in gorillas (you could say they got from other primates, but still...). Yet, there is plenty of them on lions. Funny.

I am genuinely appalled by the idea, and I was actually shocked when it came to me. They'd be basically a clandestine breeding group of fighting lions that are endorced by the lions themselves. Damn. I am hoping somebody comes and tells me off

Maybe... But there could also be an underground ring fighting operation. The may championship aren't until death per see.... And if they did partake in it they might try to run away from the gorillas... Maybe they actually got inspired by the championship and wanted something even more grafic?

the monkey teeth actually being lion teeth is honestly the best part. This theory is so good. My only question is why the Gorilla would ever allow the Enclave cubs out to tour the savannah (in a December encounter) to see the snow. What is that supposed to be? A last bit of hope before the cubs gruesomely die??

Perhaps, but I have no idea why the currency is monkey teeth.. maybe the gorillas don't like monkeys.

Oh! Interesting! I haven't been to a december event yet, just saw it.... Lets see.... Possibilities....
1. maybe they keep some as pets, the ones that are more appealing or something.
2. Maybe they are actually taking the weaker ones somewhere to be disposed off (there is the easiest quests after all, you can't win them all....)
