What if there was a mutation where the cub was missing a jaw! It would die at 2 months due to starvation.
Birth messages:
You notice something is weird about cub, but your lioness insists that the cub is fine. Upon closer inspection, you realize that cub is missing a jaw! The lioness admits that it can't drink milk, and is too weak to move. Poor thing. Better leave the grieving mother alone.
Death message: Cub died last night due to starvation.
I think they would be in the same pose as cyclopia but with two eyes and no bottom jaw. I hope that makes sense.
Please tell me why you support or don't support

edit: after a long ass time I have concluded that this mutation should be a one day lethal like cyclopia and hq. forget all the other shit lmao

They'd have no lower jaw, but Ig it could be a normal mut? I don't see many genetics that change a lion's shiloloutte ( I butchered that sorry ), and Ig it makes it harder to differentiate between different adult lion(esse)s just by their shadow alone, if that makes sense...?

Ooh, and they should be able to be kinged, hunt, and patrol. They still have their upper teeth and claws.

No support for survival...

For hunting: Lions use jaw strength which requires both the upper and lower jaws.

As for feeding from the mom: How? There is no tongue if you're missing a lower jaw. It is attached to your lower jaw, look in the mirror at your own mouth.

I do support lethality because... again, no lower jaw, no tongue. You can't eat without an upper jaw period. You need a tongue to swallow... so... Just think about it for a second.

My idea of a missing lower jaw... Well, I think the tounge is a separate structure than the lower jaw whatsoever.

I support this idea! I think this is a great idea! I think would make a great new mutation, and it would also be kind of sad..but yeah I like the idea.!

Well, I think the tounge is its own thing. In my humble opinion, if youre missing a lower jaw, there'd probably still be a tounge

I love this so much but I'd cry if I were "lucky" enough to get a jawless cub

Theres a name for that mutation, it's called Agnathia, its a deformity associated otocephaly which comes with a spectrum of all sorts of horrifying facial deformities. because agnathia is associated with otocephaly all cases of it come with synopia, where the ears are positioned below where the chin would be ((DO NOT LOOK IT UP, DO NOT LOOK ANY OF THESE UP)) and yeah it should definitely stay lethal, no wild animal can survive without a lower jaw let alone a lion, there would be no tongue either, because the tongue is connected to the lower mandible so it can't develop properly without it.

edit: found a thread that relates to this: https://www.lioden.com/topic.php?id=304429408440

edit 2:

Another, "less upsetting" mutation that can be characterised by a missing or undeveloped jaw is micrognathia, its not as immediately fatal as but the cub will have trouble feeding and slowly starve to death.

please correct me if I'm spreading misinformation
