Hey guys, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who wishes there was some kind of incentive for people to actually use the gifting feature in relation to a person's wishlist. I for one, love to gift people but as I don't buy GB it's saddening to do so and never get anything gifted to me down the road. I'm not really sure what it would be exactly and I've never made a suggestion before. I'm open to ideas and please let me know why if you say no.

Now edited, because of this thread someone else came up with a better idea ^-^

Personally, I don't feel as if the game should give you rewards for gifting items. Gifting is an act of kindness and doesn't require a gift back. So sorry, no support for now.

An achievement would be okay, like "gave an item a player had on their wishlist" is an other thing.

I also kinda feel that way so I definitely get where you're coming from, I just really wish others did it more often as well. I was just thinking maybe this could be a way to get the ball rolling.
And thank you very much for feedback <3

I agree with Apple on this one :/
The whole gifting spirit is to be nice around that time of year! Not just to gain stuff for yourself

Sorry,, no support from me

I dont support because the whole point of a gift is your not suppose to expect it. If someone gifts you it is because they are being nice, and if you start charging for that there would be no point in gifting.

Rep would be good, like indirectly giving you something back.

Rep could lower with scam trades and posting stuff you shouldn't on main

@reever I think people should be nice and gift all year not just holidays <3
@garlandrose charging people for gifting isn't what I meant, I'm saying some kind of point reward or even like Apple said an achievement for gifting. Just because I feel like giving gifts is a nice thing to do and more people should do nice things.

Thank you both for your opinions :) I do appreciate it

@Apple @Calamit are one of you going to do the reputation suggestion? It was Calamit's idea so I would feel bad posting it myself *question answered lol*

I just refreshed and saw the rep system idea; I'd support this if it's *only* a rep system, and implemented delicately, but I thought I'd underline further issues with the original idea of getting items/currency for generosity and spent 20 minutes figuring this out, so bear with me. ;D

Same as above; it isn't gifting if you get a reward for it. I personally like watching Sales Chat for peeps in need of a hand and tossing what they need their way, it'd take the fun out of it if some good ol' greed corrupted each of my attempts, knowing I'd get something out of it. =P

If there's an unlockable shop/points to buy stuff, you're still vastly favoring the people who have GB to spend [many people have some semi-common on wishlists, such as Elephant Skulls, so a user could mass-gift items of similar value to access the items in the shop, or use spare valuable items to gift if they know the value of the item << the value of what they'll get from gifting], and given the fact that Lioden's economy fluctuates monthly with the events/new releases [how would Staff calculate the value of a GMO now VS when they're available, or when Tigons are released and everyone's trying for 'em?] I think it'd be more hassle than it's worth to implement such a system.

And/or you could create a situation where a user will refuse to gift something to someone unless it's on their wishlist; say, you'd agreed to do a traditional breeding with someone and insist they have to have Instant Cub Delivery Feathers + whatever else you're handing over for the breeding on their wishlist, so you get cubs and points/eventual items out of the deal.

There's another problem: as it stands, to transfer items between your linked accounts you have to Gift them.

When I move back to my main account later this month, if this 'gifting to get points to use on cool stuff' system was in place, I could simply roll my main, put all the items I want to toss there on its wishlist, then pass over, say, 400 Beetle herbs and reap the benefits, or just benefit from the fact I've got lots of valuables I need to return to that account anyways. Or do the same to my side account and pass them back and forth. Even if you exclude linked accounts, you could start seeing promise-based transactions/deals with friends wherein they gift eachother high-value items/lots of items on eachother's wishlists only to gift them back.

An achievement for gifting would be cute; anything more is asking for trouble in my opinion and could be very, very easily abused. ^^
