So, there I was looking at the billions upon billions of cubs littering my den..and was wondering. What if there was a game feature that allowed to to dump any cub you wanted in exchange for stuff? Before you dash off to the no support, please just hear me out ^_^

When I first heard about the gorilla enclave, I assumed it would be a place you could essentially fodder any cub you wanted in exchange for points. Since they're a bit pickier than that..What I'm thinking is that a cub would be treated like a 'ticket'of sorts. You hand the cub over to the shop npc, and there's a random chance of three or so things happening.

1) nada- you draw a dud ticket and get diddly squat for your efforts. This would be the most common outcome.

2) you get stuff- would work a bit like the 'dig'encounter in explore. Chance of food/toys

3) very lucky- you get something shiny. This would be kept very rare but could be something like exclusive decor, exclusive marking applicator, idk? (or perhaps drop materials needed to craft a new decor/base/mane?)

as always, please feel free to drop suggestions, critisisms, insults, or thoughts on how this could be altered to be better/less exploitable

Edits: cubs limit per day (5-10) or 1 cub every hour
Alteration suggested on big prize: crafting material drops for a base, not a base itself
Suggestion on increased odds of prize based on stats/special bases
Please read page two for explanation on why I don't simply chase the cubs

Probably should be a limit on how many you can dump per day..5-10 cubs only per day?

maybe instead of receiving items you could give only a few lions
to the gorillas per day for monkey teeth, but only getting like 2 MT per cub

True. But there is rather a glut of random cubs out there, most rather potato-y. Just though this would be a good rpish way to get rid of cubs without simply chasing or murdering them for those who don't like to do that.

there's already a free way to get rid of cubs - just chase them. you dont even need to wait 5 days, you can do it on day one. they dont end up in the tree, youre not stuck with them, all that good stuff

the enclave is a place to get rare items to ensure that they don't just flood the market nd end up completely worthless - unlike a lot of items that were supposed to stay rare

no support, due to there already being a way to get rid of unwanted cubs without "stressing the market" or altering your karma

This is true, but very few people seem willing to do that. Which is why the market is utterly flooded with cubs. Half the time you can't even give lions away, because everyone is so crammed full of lionesses and cubs. So yes, people could just chase them, and that would solve the problem, but they aren't which is why I'm suggesting this instead. :)

What if the rare event dropped materials needed for a new base instead of new stuff? For example: Iolite base idea perhaps the Iolite stones could drop from this npc instead of explore? Idk, just a passing thought. That way the new items wouldn't be as over populated?

I like the sound of this since a lot my cubs are duds for me, and not many people are buying; But also it would make me feel less bad about essentially erasing them if I had a chance to get something out of it.

What if there was a timer on it? Like, 1 cub every hour? And the "rare" prizes should be things that aren't unfairly good (maybe Black Stallions, Honeycomb, etc)

Or...

What if the ticket "rarities" scaled with how nice a cub is (stat, base and marking wise)?

i.e. something like:

Common base, less than 500 stats, less than five markings - 50% for dud, 45% for good, 5% for rare

Rare base OR 500+ stats OR more than five markings - 30% for dud, 60% for good, 10% for rare

Any two of those - 20% for dud, 70% for good, 10% for rare

All three - 10% for dud, 70% for good, 20% for rare.

That way there's 1.) more incentive for "good" cubs to go and not flood the market and 2.) you don't get something really good for what would sell for nothing (unless you have really good luck).

bit 50/50 on that idea :/ Plus side is it would be great for getting the special base potatos off the market..bad is is it'd be much easier for the stat beasts to get the goodies whereas newbies or poorer players would have lesser chances of winning.

I do like the markings + special base boosting the odds, but not so sure on stats

Timer would be a good idea though. Do people prefer that or just a lump sum per day quota?

I'm supporting but I think this could work as an adjustment to the gorilla Enclave. You would still be able to turn in many Cubs at a time most carbs would probably only give you like one monkey too but if it has a rare marking base Etc you would get extra especially for things mutations. Although I guess this would also mean they would have to raise the prices of the Enclave store.

If it was an adjustment to the Enclave, the MT could be randomized but heavily rely on the markings/base/mut.

Common base and less than five markings - 50% for 1-2, 45% for 3-4, 5% for 5

Rare base OR more than five markings - 30% for 3-4, 60% for 5-6, 10% for 7

Both/Mutie - 20% for 5-6, 70% for 7-9, 10% for 10

And I think a timer would be best, but maybe 2 hours
