To put it simply, give us a way to toggle off certain encounters in explore that would trigger a phobia for us, giving a blank/empty encounter instead of that rather than rerolling the encounter (see second question below). I'm deathly afraid of spiders, so every time the ogre spider encounter comes up I flinch (and I always seem to have the luck of getting the decor out of it that I then have to discard, which is more flinching, until I just started skipping the encounter).

I know it's a very simple thing, and most people would probably think of it as dumb, but it would be really nice not to have to worry over randomly feeling my heart stop because there's a spider on-screen.

If you're saying you don't support, please say why. This could really help some people and just saying "No" doesn't help.

::NOTES::
What would be toggable?
Phobias only, such as spiders or things like that. Things that would not be toggable would be carcass events, lioness encounters, empty/flavor text encounters, etc. because those aren't phobias. ONLY actual phobias and carcass phobias wouldn't count because bloodied/dead animals are such a huge core mechanic of the game, so removing those would be like removing random encounters in Final Fantasy; if you can't handle the core game mechanic, it might not be the game for you to play (sadly).

List of Phobias that could be blocked: (Feel free to suggest more)
-- Spiders (Arachnophobia)

What if people turn off everything to make rare encounters easier? (thanks to Spinzette)
That's an easy fix; just make blocked encounters give an empty one instead. Basically, let's say I turn off Spider encounters. If my encounter roll brings up the Ogre Spider, rather than reroll the encounter, it instead substitutes it with one of the empty encounters (like the "You pad along." one). The actual chances of encountering events doesn't change, it's just that when you get a blocked phobia encounter, it doesn't load that encounter and instead gives you one of the random non-encounter lines. The actual chances of each encounter thus remain the same.

If someone decides to turn off all the possible phobias to game the system, they would just get a lot of empty ones and no increased chance for rarer encounters. However, people with actual phobias would most likely not care about getting an empty encounter in exchange for not being made uncomfortable/ill by their phobia (like me! I'd rather ten empty encounters than three spider encounters).

This suggestion has 34 supports and 58 NO supports.

There is unfortunately no way to support this; there is just way TOO many things that can trigger people's phobias, there's just no way to make a separate trigger to hide every single thing. People can be afraid of spiders, or bugs in general, of blood, of bones, of death, of lethal mutations... there is just no way for Lioden to make a toggle for every little thing people can be bothered by! And no way to make a uniform "toggle everything disturbing" because, every person has a vastly different list of things they're bothered by. So people who are afraid of spiders but are fine with blood will again complain.

There is only one way to deal with images you cannot tolerate - and it is by blocking the images in your own browser. Lioden cannot provide a way for all users to block every single of hundreds of things that bother them, users must do so themselves, on THEIR end. Every browser has an image blocker, you just have to find it and add single images that bother you to the black list - they wont show up anymore.

The more I think about this the more I begin to agree with the non-supporters. Who decides what is a 'valid' phobia or not? Maybe if there were something that just turned off all explore images...that's the closest I can think of to a plausible solution.

Wait, people brought the validation of phobias in? That's kind of....wow

I don't like the idea of "real" phobias. You're acting like somebody elses phobia isn't as valid as yours. So I would only support if you could go through the encounters and turn off certain ones with just a blank image.

I was sure there was something like Mad Hyena mentioned, but I've never used it so I cannot share a personal opinion of how an image block works or how easy it is to implement, but I figure if someone is bothered by anything here they would be really motivated to learn how. Maybe it'd be a good idea to create a guide for it, if there's none around already?

Not supporting because I feel like it's too broad to actually be put into effect. The whole point of a phobia is that it's an irrational fear, meaning it can literally be anything. Choosing which ones are "valid" enough to be blocked shouldn't be up to the admins. Sorry, I understand the sentiment behind the suggestion but I just don't think it's reasonable.
