@Mother
Thanks! :D I think it's a pretty even 50/50 split, tbh.
It's not showing up all the times I lost last week. Your scorpions are like the highlight of my day when I encounter them in battles!

Ohhh, I didn't even think about the beetle sex changers! Most likely, when they're larvae.
The sex changers are easy to forget, I guess xD

Joker,
I can agree with that! ^^
Awwhhheee, that's so heart-warming to read! :'D I've always wanted my beetles to be sorta recognized, and for people to have fun when they encounter them, so I'm very happy to hear that!

I'mma hop off awhile now, gotta clean some. ~
Talk to y'all later!

@Joker: sure thing! Added your main.

@Dani California: Of course! Is this the account you want it on? Just let me sort out which one is the extra. :) (I have 5 and I like to keep pairs.)

@Beevee: Sounds fun but frustrating, LOL.

To everyone— more than one person has brought up the lack of a clan Discord; I will look into it as that would be great to have.

It's a fun challenge! Partially also because inbreeding squicks me out so it's also sorta for my comfort kgafujn, it's mostly hard since I can't always buy the beetles I'm looking for

@Beevee
I feel it, my dude! I commend your commitment to clean breeding ^^
It was too much of a hassle for me when I started the P. rangifers. If I pick up those Dracula Ants, I might try to be a little more organized with them.

How do you ensure you're breeding clean?
Do you use a particular naming scheme? A spreadsheet?

Hey guys! I now breed Sternotomis strandi and Sphodromantis viridis besides fullos! I'd like to breed Calidea dregii too, but I can't find a single one in the TC...

If I run into any, I'll let you know!

Also, right now my beetle's lines aren't too long, so I just check their heritage (had a Situation where I couldn't get any breedable kraatzis and my lines sorta got restart), but I'm probably gonna start making a spreadsheet or list of which beetles can breed together? Might make use of the fact that beetles have a lil description box like lions.

Making a spreadsheet is a good idea.

I’ve been brainstorming how to put one together. Like would it just be a list of what beetles I have? Their stats as well? How would you utilize a spreadsheet to organize your beetles?

That's what I've been trying to figure out tbh, though I do realize that normally I make any "breeding compatible" beetles have names with the same first letter. I might exploit the "beetle biography" and write down which guys my beetle ladies are breedable with

That's a good idea.
Hmm... this sounds like an interesting project.

I've done breed projects, starting with foundations (ie. heritageless starters) before -- and you usually begin with groups of 4. Preferably, 8. So you'll have 4 pairs, each pair gets one offspring, and you continue the line that way. I feel like that'd be a bit more difficult to do with beetles, if you're only breeding once. That would mean you'd ideally wait until they're 29 days old and then breed -- to get the maximum amount of stats possible.

I'd love to mess around with a spreadsheet and figure out the best way to do this. Can we link Google spreadsheets to Lioden? I rarely see outside links here, so I want to be sure.

I think we can? I have seen other people use outside links, so I don't see why not.

Eek! Super excited about the new Discord server for the clan! Makes communicating with all you beetle-battlers a little more convenient. Forums tend to be a little clunky for me, especially when I'm on mobile.

But, on a separate note --
I've got beetles up for sale here:
Side (Unsorted)
Mostly some P. rangifers & a Turquoise P. lactator M.

And all these kiddos are free to clan members:
P. fullo | Cream | F | 10s
D. hercules | Yellow | M | 12s
H. mellyi | Red | F | 12s
M. mirabillis | Brown | M | 15s

My main acct is frozen -- but if you buy out of one of the beetle trades, I'll refund you SB from this account. ^^ Just let me know!

One of my fullos's last clutch of eggs gave me a 17-stat boy! I couldn't be more proud (here's the beetle btw: https://www.lioden.com/beetle.php?id=2412600)
