Just did a series of scries of Bushveld x any and I did in fact get a regular Bushveld Rosette. I think it's safe to debunk the Rosette dependency theory, although there's a possibility their presence might boost the odds of spawning Bushveld Rosettes.
There's also another possibility that there might be a different factor that boosts the odds of spawning any random rosette (thank you, Tansy [G1 Pie Bush RL Clone], for pointing that out!), although that's remained unsolved for years.

The pairing that finally worked for me was Gator, a Fiery RL clone and his Bushveld queen if anyone is interested.

Stud (bushveld base, no green marks or rosettes) X Lioness (no bushveld base, green marks, or rosettes, but proven to be able to produce random rosettes)

I got an absurd number of random rosettes, which leads me to believe that perhaps the bushveld rosette chance is completely separate from the standard random rosette chance, rather than a percentage of the random rosette chance. Still, these are definitely data-throwing numbers o.o Standard random rosette chance is 2-3 in 1000.

With the random rosettes, I have had my old full vit (only T2 Vitiligo) produce rosettes with lionesses with no marks at all. I'm not sure if this data helps, but I thought it was interesting.

It seems like you'll have a higher chance of getting a bushveld rosette with 2 bushveld, but I could be wrong! Odd though that I got 2 of the same random rosettes with the 1000 Scries Idid on the two Bushveld clones

Here's the result of 500 scries I just did, since I was curious if Bushveld x Green would yield different results
stud bushveld base, no rosettes or bushveld markings
lioness green base, no rosettes or bushveld markings
bushveld rosettes: none :(
other rosettes: 2 (1 Doubloon HR, one Inverted White, though I clicked through too fast and didn't catch which inverted white it was)

subscribing bc this is kinda fun to figure out.

i’ve always had a theory that rosettes spawned on cubs that have parents that have markings that are similar to rosettes; like lace or panther. from what i can see, the lions being scryed that don’t have the bushveld base do have either a lace or a panther marking. could be something to consider? bushveld base x panther/lace/other similar marking.

@stella 🌼 g2 dense citrine: I love this theory! If it's true, it might work on all Rosettes that spawn randomly, not only Bushvelds. I might try that out at some point.

I wonder if the reason for it not showing for the green base is because it has to be a passable green base like murk or bushveld? Additionally, has anyone tried to see if its possible for it to appear from the murk base too??
Specially since I think the lioness they used as an example feels like a murk base to me

@𓃹 G3 Withered Ice: I did scry a Murk lioness a few times but had no luck so far, although I'm planning to try a few more times.
The lionesses used as previews in news posts are designed to showcase the new stuff in the best way possible, so I'm not sure if that's a clue. ^^'
