I LOVE the new Protea base and it reminds me a lot of Haliotis, but it is less saturated and less colourful. So I thought, why not make a concept for a combo base of the two? They are both quite colourful, but Protea has a more limited colour palette, so I decided to use more colours like Haliotis has. The grey base colour is meant to represent a sky, since the design was kinda inspired by aurora borealis too. Here is the concept:  I still need name ideas! If you like the idea of a combo base between the two, but don't like the concept that I made, feel free to suggest more ideas in the comments! This is still a work in progress and I won't mind making a few more designs! Name ideas (will highlight my favourites): -Seaglass, Mural, Confetti Burst, Color Splash, Twilight, Starburst, Polarwaves, Aurora oil, Borealis oil, Moranlis, Prism, Lupine, Acropora, Bismuth, Casanova, Nova If you like the idea, please support this thread. If not, please let me know why^^ |

The colors are great together yes, but the pale pink-ish back is horrible, maybe remove it and blend the colors a little more? Otherwise no support.  0 players like this post! Like? |

No support: No harm meant in this comment, just some criticism - The blending isn't done right and does not look like something LD would accept due to how obvious the change in colour gradient is. [This is in a sense that it looks weird because you can see the lines instead of there being a neat marking-like shape between the colours like on protea, or haliotis] - The colours look too dull considering how bright haliotis/protea actually are. - it just looks like a modified version of haliotis, i don't see how protea could be a factor in this [other than there being some colours in pretty much the exact same spot other colours are in protea, but it doesn't give enough impact for me personally to want to support]. - Those little baby-blue dots are too bold and stick out like a sore thumb, they need to be blended in better or have a more colour-suited look. having bright colours that are added in randomly make the design look weird and makes them stand out in a negative way. Suggestions: - As said before, blend it better using a blending tool or something similar or it won't have a chance to be accepted in the current design state - Work on a better colour gradient, you don't need the entire rainbow in there. - take note that there are little to no colours that are in protea in this base; maybe include them. - The base is too blue and dull, the bases you're combining are bright and contain little blue in them. Use the colours you see most on the bases, and then add the colours you see the least and go from there. [Such as the pink/peach area on haliotis and the purple on protea]. - You need to include the red in protea, i don't see any of it on this base; that's why it looks like a haliotis copy - if you want a darker rainbow base, just choose a different factor other than protea because protea does not work with this. [Such as prismatic, it looks more like it'd suit a dark rainbow colour]. 0 players like this post! Like? |
