I am very happy that the game is back, because I believe it has some absolutely beautiful decors and backgrounds. The only problem? These are unattainable to a large amount of users.
It took me about 30 minutes just to get a score of 300 today in trying to play. This is not even enough for a decor. Since the games re-release today, with over 6 thousand users online, only EIGHT have been able to achieve a score of 1000+, the score required for a background (At the time of writing).

According to calculations by user Techno (#305):
"A score of 462 took me 8 minutes and 32 seconds. I had a stopwatch going. My internet and gaming PC are pretty good, so I should have the game running about as fast as possible.

So in theory, IGNORING the speed boost that does happen over time, that's .902 clicks per second.
8 minutes 32 seconds = 512 seconds
462 clicks/512 seconds = .9023 clicks per second.

For easy math, I'm rounding that to a click per second. So that's 1000 seconds, or 16.67 minutes or 16 minutes and 40.2 seconds for a score of 1000. Now, given I don't know the exact speed change modifiers it has, it's probably a bit lower, and if you can click faster then it's also a bit lower. But I'd say I'm around average in speed for this, and I haven't stopwatched anyone else. So I'd probably say it takes the fastest people like 12 minutes or so at the least."


I have 3 suggestions to make the decors accessible, 2 of which requires adjustments to the game.

1. Add score multipliers
As it currently stands, one hit to either the snake or the mandrill is one point towards your overall score. With score multipliers, it would not be a one-to-one ratio. For example, 100 hits could result in an overall score of 500 if a score multiplier is added where each hit is worth 5 points, rather than each hit only being 1 point. This is just an example and not a suggestion for a specific score multiplier. Another score multiplier, which would be more difficult to code, is that enemies hidden behind objects, thus harder to hit, are worth more (ie. the snake behind the vines). This would make it so players are actually able to get the scores needed for decor without spending hours, and a lot of disappointment, on the game.

2. Lower the scores required to be rewarded decor and backgrounds
This is self explanatory. If the hit to score ratio will remain indefinitely at 1:1, at the very least, the scores required to get decor and backgrounds should both be decreased accordingly.

3. Add a way to purchase Whack-a-Snake decor outside of the game itself
If this game is going to continue to be unplayable for most users, there should be a way to otherwise acquire the decor without relying on extreme prices from the very few users who are able to successfully play the game. Ways of purchasing could include: Gorilla enclave. Oasis. Events.

Nonetheless, I think with the reinstatement of this game, every user should have a fair chance to obtain its beautiful artwork. Thank you for reading. Please comment your thoughts, concerns, ideas, etc.

the backgrounds are also a lot less achievable when you consider that scoring within the background range is tedious enough that it takes a few tries to even get there in the first place. with the 1-1 score ratio, it takes like 20 minutes to build up to 1000 points, and thats 10+ extra minutes of grinding down the drain if you slip up

I don't think it needs a *huge* multiplier, a 500 score is definitely achievable for me, but at the same time it takes SO LONG just sitting there clicking and it shouldn't take that long. Let alone for 1000+

I'd love a combo multiplier, like, say you haven't lost a life in 50 or 100 hits then that should be a fairly big bonus

I agree with the statements that WaS isn't actually hard, and that's almost a bit of a problem. I definitely personally think that it should either function like Shuffle, where it's a "hit as many as possible within x minutes" or Chase/Escape where it gets faster and with higher point gain the longer/better you play. I think making the gameplay feel satisfying through it getting gradually harder and with better rewards to show for it are important to make players return to it

I agree with making decor and backgrounds less hard to get, i've been trying to get the snake decors and hit 400+ multiple times, but all I ever get is catnip or snakeskin.
it gets extremely tedious to get 400+ every day only for those two items

You need a score of 500+ for a chance at a decor! I agree its frustrating to get such naff 400 point reawards though, only the egg yolk is remotely useful in that tier!

According to the game page, you can get a decor at 400+, but a decor is not guaranteed

400 - 499
Snake Scent
or Egg Yolk
or Catnip
or A random snake decor

Whoops, my bad! I;ve only recieved decor from 500+ and missed it in the list I guess!
Honestly though snake scent and catnip is so much higher than it should be in every game category, but thats a complaint for another time xD Rn I just don't wanna spend 15 mins wacking snakes

I don't bother with this game due to how high the score requirement is. I've got severe tendonitis so it's not even feasible for me to play this multiple times to try and get middling scores, and I certainly feel for those who are specifically trying to shoot for the highest tier.

Support. Ideally, I'd support either adding multipliers so the game retains its difficulty but rewards dedicated players, or adding decors in rotations to GE for purchase. The latter would mean players like me could enjoy them, even if it takes a while to earn, where otherwise we can never get these decors, since most game decors are never put up for sale.
