If you came across a form, you should give a reason in form of a reply before pledging your stance on a suggestion, this is as to encourage giving constructive criticism, as my first experience in forms were in the Scratch suggestions forms and the other users informed everyone that " Don't just say you support or not, give a reason you do or don't. "

I kept this in place in my replies to WD and LD suggestion forms.

If this is too overkill then let's just say we give a message after supporting/not supporting " You pledged your support/opposition! Now, remember to please put your reasoning for your stance in form of reply to this thread. "

This suggestion has 0 supports and 193 NO supports.

However -- with the support/no support buttons in my envisionment, would need you to reply before pressing them. Upvote/downvote would not, but I can see them having less value when a staff person looks at a suggestion and tries to decide if this suggestion can improve the game

And I mean this in the nicest way possible - at this point just go back to Wolvden. Stop trying to bring it here. Lioden is far more successful for a reason

I was told if you ain't got nothing nice to say then to not say it. Plus sometimes you just don't like something and shouldn't have to put "Just not my cup of tea". Manhandling for a reason when there is non or, better yet, it's not great to them prevents more than just 'my fefes got hurt' but also spam of the same "not for me".

I'm sorry, but this is a very, very hard 'no support'. If one was required to leave feedback before supporting/not supporting, we would end up with thread after thread after thread with page after page of nothing but worthless fluff without any good, real, constructive advice. I love getting feedback, don't get me wrong, but no feedback at all is still a thousand times better than a thousand pieces of worthless bullshit that contribute nothing, which is what we'll get if this idea is implemented.

Sometimes you just like or dislike something, nothing good, constructive information to go with it. Leaving the buttons and giving the OPTION to give feedback if you feel so inclined is the best possible way to run a forum, in my opinion. Lets people give their thoughts while not endorsing the idea of server clutter and useless fluff.

Sorry this is a hard pass, I feel like being forced to give a reason for not supporting would cause a lot of people to just ignore threads as a whole. You're not entitled to anyone's opinion and enough should be said by hitting the button, especially in cases where it seems like common sense to the voter..
Believe me sometimes I would like to know why someone doesn't like my suggestion but it is ultimately up to that player on whether or not they'd like to share. Also changing the names of the buttons wouldn't make any sense since.. upvote and downvote are literally the same things as support and no support.

In addition to what everyone else has said, oftentimes when I'm browsing the base suggestions forum I will come across a suggestion that I think looks bad, doesn't suit the game, etc. There is nothing the suggestion poster can do to make me like it, I fundamentally disagree with the suggestion I see.
In that case, if I had to reply to state my no support- how does that help the suggestion poster? "Sorry, I think this looks bad and wouldn't suit the game, there's nothing you can do to change my opinion unless you make it into an entirely new base"...? That's not very helpful to hear. My quiet no support doesn't saddle the poster with criticism that isn't helpful to them, but it's still helpful for the devs as they look for a nice base to add.

This is a solid case of if it ain't broke don't try to fix it. Nothing is wrong with the set up.

Venus I think they might've. They haven't rolled in awhile. I thought to check for activity after I made my reply.

There's been a traveler system suggestion like wolvden has. That's about the only thing I'd like to see on Lioden found there. Folks here could really benefit from it. Besides that the 2 need to be kept separate for the most part. ^_^
