Community UpdateAside from monthly event news posts and the 2nd Friday of each month being focused on art/coding updates, all other Fridays are centered around the community!

Addressing "Challenge/Paperclip" TradesAfter discussing the topic of "challenge/paperclip" trades and taking into account the feedback we received within the "Community Input on Challenge/Paperclip Trades" topic, we have come to a finalised conclusion that there is no definitive line that can be set in regard to moderating these types of trades. We have ultimately decided that we will not be moderating these trades, and strongly recommend utilising the tools provided to block players and/or hide trades that you do not wish to see.
Bug Fixes* Fixed an issue where a king could be fed via his page if he had rabies * Fixed an issue where decorations were loading within the background dropdown in the Lion Wardrobe * Fixed an issue where shop sorting was not working in the Heaven, Hell, or Manticore shops * Fixed beetle trades not hiding properly * Fixed an issue with king retirement messages stating they had "1 days" left until forced retirement * Kuende the tutorial NPC was mistakenly referred to as a monkey within the tutorial text, this has now been fixed to refer to him as a lemur * Primal (Ferus) pride leaders now get a damage boost when fighting Werehyenas like other Were-enemies

@52546 yea I’m kind of in the same boat. it feels like there should’ve been somewhere dictated for things like that to go, and a short grace period before manually removing trades from the tc. And while I do understand that the hiding trades function was added in part to lessen this as an issue, it’s aggravating to constantly have to be hiding trades, considering these trades often come in “parts” and are remade often. It also doesn’t help that it feels like one has to go out of their way to hide trades from a certain user. I feel as if it could’ve been so much better having a more accessible way to hide trades from a user or have a more decisive answer about these kinds of trades, especially because when the discussion was fresh, a big question was whether or not it’s considered “begging” and it feels like it’s a loophole to get around the fairly strict rules ld has in place to avoid begging 6 players like this post! @Clawdina: I'm sadly at the point where I'm literally just going to block people who make these sort of trades. I'm done being nice by simply hiding people's trades. I love this game but decisions like this one are going to make me quit one day 3 players like this post! Like? |

Not super pleased about the paperclip decision as someone who spent slow hours at my old Wendy's job fighting on the OG forum (that was a trainwreck lmao) but I get it. It's somewhat hard to figure where you draw that line. I think a lot of us weren't advocating necessarily for its entire removal but maybe more so a dedicated forum or trading center tab. I think it's a fair compromise. Either way, I do appreciate you guys. Interested to see potential "snowflake" markings. 6 players like this post! Like? |

I'm disappointed in the final decision about paperclip trades and not moderating them. At this point, I don't mind if they're not removed completely, but I think something that isn't a legitimate sales trade should not be in the TCs. Maybe paperclip trades should fall under Thread Games instead? As seen in this thread/page, someone stated that this issue can still at least be moderated, under C.o.C 1.22 "Do not use game features for anything other than what they are intended for." I feel like this is just a feature that does not belong in the TC because of that reason?? There's only so much blocking/soft-blocking that I could do before I just end up getting fed up. I could be missing out on potential sales/studs/etc if I just block people all willy-nilly. I just want to use the TC as it was intended, to buy/make sales, instead of finding veiled-begging/spam instead. 9 players like this post! Like? |

The decision on paperclips is disappointing, you are basically allowing people to break CoC by letting them abuse a feature for things it was not intended for and allowing veiled begging. Both against CoC, points 1.1 letter a and 1.22. And if your only answer is "block"/"hide" then you are isolating players from each other instead of encouraging them to engage with each other. That's how the community dies - and in effect how the site will stagnate and die in the end. 7 players like this post! Like? |
