Community UpdateAside from monthly event news posts and the 2nd Friday of each month being focused on art/coding updates, all other Fridays are centered around the community!
Official Lioden RaffleLINK - This is our official community update raffle. Everyone gets a chance to win a rare prize, plus something extra for any runner ups. Bug Fix* Fixed a longstanding issue where food items in clans would sometimes end up with extremely long expiration dates (730,000+ days). Any affected food should have their correct rotting times now. If you do come across any food that is set to expire far in the future, please let us know in the Bug Board!

I feel like rather than redoing the whole artwork, or doing the difficult toggle, they could just. like. put a bush in front, or any random object/scenery to censor it. feel like that'd be a lot easier than redrawing entire images..  9 players like this post! Like? |

In short: creating a toggle will open a Pandora's box of every user on Lioden demanding their fears and uncomfortable things to be toggles too. There will before long be 100+ toggles for every little thing people dont want to see, and its not something that should be added to the game. There is NO easy way to make a customisable toggle to please everyone, it will need to be a separate toggle for every theme suggested; and if ONE toggle is added, you can be sure - people will demand 100 more. Saying "I just want this 1 toggle, dont care about others" is one-sided and does not bring much into this argument. Lioden admins need to consider what long-lasting effects it will have on the entire userbase, not just 1 group requesting the first toggle to be created. 7 players like this post! Like? |

I have no issues with the February encounters, in fact I think the written awkwardness is hilarious. However, I do find it interesting that people are uncomfortable with non-graphic mating images but have no complaints about seeing starving animals or the gorier events. Would love to just see a toggle implemented, around the recode if it's difficult! It'd be a perfect solution as those uncomfortable with the images can choose to not see them and those who aren't bothered can continue playing as usual. Edit: Even better than a February specific toggle would be an marking censor type filter like some people have mentioned! That way there is less work trying to figure out what specific things should be added to the toggles and people can just choose to filter out whatever they don't like. Me personally I really hate the gross out humor, mostly in December but also in a few other encounters scattered throughout the site, so I filter out all the images using my adblocker so I can eat freely playing the game without losing my appetite for a while. I don't think a lot of people are bothered by that like I am so I wouldn't expect it to be added to a toggle, but if a marking censor type filter was added this means I could easily filter that out without usage of my adblock and the devs don't have to review every request for filters. Though personally I think making the site more accessible to all kinds of people is a good thing, even if it'd be troublesome. Also, for those who don't know, the mobile Firefox browser allows you to use extensions, so you can use adblock to block images that way. 4 players like this post! I haven’t yet been around for one of the February events yet but I’d scrolled through the Lion Wiki of the encounters and see no problem in keeping it how it is! If people don’t mind seeing lions attack/eat/kill one another why are they so bothered by them mating? I say, save the developers a load of time and keep it all just how it is!  One thing I would mention though is if were talking the January Event - I wonder if there is something that could be done to open up the other Tiers of The Boneyard for us before the event ends? Seeing as there are only a few days left and we are all collectively still at Tier One! (Unless I’m wrong about this?) Only shame is, there were plenty of Backgrounds/Decor/Rewards we were seeking in the other Tiers that none of us can gain access to and the event is about to be over! Would be a shame if no one got the chance to get them.  But that’s all I’ll say on it all! I don’t want to upset anyone or get into any disputes, so please no need to reply to this! Unless you have advice for me on the January Event situation, thank you! ((Bottom line : This game is amazing and I’m so grateful to everyone that works together to make this site run as a whole! Putting my 2c in: I feel strongly enough about this that I broke hiatus for a day to get a vote in. By my game-alternating schedule, I should actually be on Lioden now, and half the reason I’m not is how disturbing the Feb event encounters are to me. I am ace and sex-repulsed, so it’s a special kind of gross-out every time I see one. 90% of the time I’m playing these games on mobile. On desktop I do have the images blocked, but that isn’t an option on mobile so I have to play zoomed-in to hide the art. Goes doubly for when I’m in public, especially at work. And this hides all art, meaning I can’t see and appreciate the rest! I want anything other than nothing to be done about this. Toggles would be perfect, and the options in the poll would be great, too. And about the toggles for everything slippery slope - why not have a Marking Censer type system? I don’t see any reason why users shouldn’t be able to pick and choose which artwork they view, regardless of category. You can already do that on desktop with customizing an adblocker (an officially-suggested workaround) - I don’t see any reason why, after the site revamp, there shouldn’t be a site-supported method that is just as powerful. 10 players like this post! Just wanna remind people and show those who might not know that the wiki has a whole Guide on how to block images, at least from computers! It even includes url lists for specific categories like the mating animals, starving animals, and assorted phobias. When it comes to mobile you'd have to research how to block them yourself, but this is at least a good resource for desktop players. Knowing how to cater your own online experience is a good skill to have in general, and I think more applicable here then removing harmless content. 6 players like this post!
