Community UpdateAside from monthly event news posts and the 2nd Friday of each month being focused on art/coding updates, all other Fridays are centered around the community!

Bug Fix* Fixed a longstanding issue where food items in clans would sometimes end up with extremely long expiration dates (730,000+ days). Any affected food should have their correct rotting times now. If you do come across any food that is set to expire far in the future, please let us know in the Bug Board!

There just needs to be a toggle. Completely recreating the artwork is a massive and unnecessary change, as well as a huge setback. Jaglions and spirited pose were promised to us- that should be first priority, not random replacement art no one asked for. A toggle could be added quickly, on the contrary there is no way brand new, shiny art for these encounters could be scribbled together within the next few days without putting stress on the artists. We just want a toggle. That is all anyone has ever asked for regarding February encounter discomfort. 17 players like this post! Like? |

I don't think artwork needs to be redone - I think that a simple image toggle is all that's necessary. Just don't have the image show up at all for the people that have the toggle enabled. A toggle would probably please the most amount of players, because some want to keep the encounters and others don't. There is a feature in wolvden to hide spider images in explore, which I think would work great for the February encounters. I'm glad the Feb uncomfortableness is being addressed, but I think the way that it is is limiting. Let players have a choice in how they want to customize their game, like the marking toggles, pregnancy toggles, css toggles, etc. 16 players like this post! imo just because the game is '16+' and 'mature', i don't think people should be expected to be okay seeing animals mating. i understand nothing is explicitly 'shown' so to speak but it still is a very discomforting thing nonetheless. i do agree though that this "all or nothing" options given is a very poor way to approach it. something like a toggle or a censor would be appreciated as a bare minimum for now since the event is a week away but i think in the future, any changes to the art should be done at minimum a month in advance so people can prepare/update their guides and such. 9 players like this post! If I'm being honest two of those options are basically the same in the sense it just removes the encounter and makes it something new. It's either we replace it or get rid of it and theres no middle ground here. I'd much rather a bush appear in front of the spit and being able to see the encounters heads so they've recognisable, than removing the encounter entirely. I really hate the mating encounters in Feb, but making them go when we have bunnies mating in April feels really wrong, but at the same time there isn't any need to really remove it as it's not explicit, just awkward. Many people have suggested a toggle for the encounters so, if they toggle it off the image doesn't show up but the flavour text does, or you just cover the lions with a bush or smthn. 6 players like this post! i agree with others that a toggle would be preferable.it’s entirely unnecessary to completely re-do a bunch of encounters, or doing nothing at all. it would be the best solution for everyone, considering some people dont want to see it and some people dont care. said toggle could also be made to include april encounters, and encounters with gore or otherwise disturbing imagery 11 players like this post! Have y'all considered simply renaming image files (i.e. append "_mature" to the end of the name) for inappropriate scenes, and if someone has the toggle on, an if/else of some sort is run to check the file name and then display a blank/transparent image instead? 11 players like this post! Like? |

After Xylax's response, perhaps togglable censorship of the mating encounters in February should be pushed back to 2025 unfortunately, after the site recode that we're supposedly going to get this year. I feel like the toggle is the most reasonable solution, and after reading comments and browsing in main chat, it seems that a lot of the playerbase wants this toggle option. If it's not possible until after the recode, then I feel like the encounters should just be left alone this year and the toggle should be added next year after we get the site recode. 10 players like this post! i wonder if something like the marking censor tool could be temporarily extended to apply to explore encounters- at least until a toggle censor or something appears. at the very least, it could give people the option to opt-in or opt-out of the images. 4 players like this post! Like? |
